Qatar recorded QR482.4 million in property sales across 118 transactions from September 27 to October 3, 2026, while mortgage activity reached approximately QR1.04 billion across 27 contracts. Those figures come from an October 5 Zawya report carried by TradingView News/Refinitiv, which said the weekly indicators were published by Aqarat. Mortgage value measures a different type of registered activity from property sales; it is not the value of homes sold or a count of homes sold.

These are comparisons of one week with another week, not proof on their own of a lasting market direction. Value and transaction count also tell different stories: the former is the combined reported value, while the latter is the number of transactions.

By property type
| Type | Reported sales value | Share of sales |

| Villas | QR224.7 million | 46.5% |
| Land | QR197.7 million | 40.9% |
| Buildings | QR29.8 million | Not stated in the October 5 Zawya report |

Villas and land together represented most of the reported sales value. The report did not provide percentage shares for buildings or other types.
#1 Best Overall
By municipality
Al Rayyan led reported sales value at QR130.9 million, followed by Doha at QR116.7 million and Al Wakra at QR99.7 million. These are municipality figures from the same weekly report, not general rankings for Qatar’s property market.
Why did mortgage activity exceed sales value?
The report recorded approximately QR1.04 billion in mortgage activity across 27 contracts. That total is larger than the week’s sales value, but the two figures describe separate registered activities: a mortgage contract is not the same thing as a sale transaction. They should not be added together or read as competing estimates of the value of property sold.
Rank #2
Mortgage changes and composition
Mortgage value was up 198.4% year on year and down 53.8% week on week. Contract count was up 22.7% year on year and down 12.9% week on week. The sharp divergence between value and count shows why both measures matter: a small number of high-value contracts can affect aggregate value substantially. The weekly report does not establish what caused these movements.
| Mortgage property type | Reported value | Share of mortgage value |
|---|---|---|
| Land | QR827 million | 82.3% |
| Towers | QR130 million | Not stated in the October 5 Zawya report |
| Buildings | QR47 million | Not stated in the October 5 Zawya report |
By municipality, Doha accounted for QR923 million, or 91.2% of reported mortgage value. Al Daayen had QR63 million and Al Rayyan QR26 million.
Rank #3
What did the report say about rentals?
The same report counted 518 rental contracts with a combined reported value of QR4.49 million. Rental value was down 91.5% year on year and 58.6% week on week; contract count was down 89% year on year and 56.6% week on week. These comparisons are also limited to the stated reporting week.
Rental value by property type
| Type | Reported value | Share of rental value |
|---|---|---|
| Villas | QR2.29 million | 51.6% |
| Apartments | QR1.23 million | 27.7% |
| Commercial shops | QR660,000 | Not stated in the October 5 Zawya report |
| Other categories | QR310,000 | Not stated in the October 5 Zawya report |
Al Rayyan led rental value at QR2 million, followed by Doha at QR1.4 million and Al Wakra at QR400,000.

How does this compare with broader official figures?
The Qatar Ministry of Justice says its Real Estate Registration Department publishes weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual bulletins, and describes those bulletins as the official sources for real-estate trading movement and indicator analysis. The exact-week primary bulletin for September 27–October 3 was not located for this report, so the detailed figures above are attributed to the October 5 Zawya report, which says they came from Aqarat’s weekly indicators.

- The Ministry of Justice’s August 2026 monthly bulletin reported QR1,290,916,518 across 424 transactions for the month.
- A Ministry of Justice report carried by Qatar News Agency on October 1 covered September 20–24, 2026—not September 27–October 3—and reported QR516,362,618 in sales-contract transactions plus QR66,738,529 in residential-unit sales contracts. The period and reported categories differ from the later Zawya figures.
- Aqarat’s September 2026 release, citing Ministry of Justice data, said first-half 2026 real-estate transaction value was QR10.69 billion, up 5.84% from approximately QR10.1 billion in first-half 2025. That longer-period increase does not establish a trend from a single week’s movement.
The October 5 Zawya report also rounded the weekly totals in its headline to US dollars: $132.52 million in sales and more than $274 million in mortgage activity. The underlying figures reported in the article are in Qatari riyals.
