fullPage: true tells Puppeteer to capture the full extent of the document that has loaded; it does not make an infinite-scroll site load entries that have not appeared yet. Scroll the page to trigger its loading behavior, wait for the new content, and then capture. The right stopping condition depends on the site and on how much of the feed you need.
Why the screenshot stops at the first screen
Puppeteer’s Page.screenshot() captures a page. Its fullPage option defaults to false, so omitting it produces a viewport screenshot. Set it to true to capture the full page extent. The current Puppeteer documentation search result identifies version 25.12.0; check the documentation for the version installed in your project because API details can change. That option controls capture extent, not feed loading. Infinite-scroll pages commonly fetch or render more entries in response to scrolling, so the document may contain only the first batch when the screenshot is taken. A full-page screenshot can include all content currently in the document without causing the site to fetch every later entry.

Capture the loaded document with Puppeteer
Use Page.screenshot() with fullPage: true when the content is already present and you want the full loaded page rather than just the viewport:

const browser = await puppeteer.launch({ headless: true });
try {
const page = await browser.newPage();
await page.goto('https://example.com', { waitUntil: 'networkidle2' });
await page.screenshot({ path: 'page.png', fullPage: true });
} finally {
await browser.close();
}
This example captures what is loaded after navigation. A network-idle navigation wait is not proof that an infinite feed is finished: the site may load another batch only after a scroll or may continue making background requests.
Load the entries you need before capturing
For a feed that loads on scroll, repeat a site-appropriate sequence: scroll down, wait for the next batch to appear, and check whether your stopping condition is met. Do not rely on one fixed delay as a universal solution; response times and page behavior vary.

- FAST SPEEDS - Scans color and black and white documents a blazing speed up to 16ppm (1). Color scanning won’t slow you down as the color scan speed is the same as the black and white scan speed.
- ULTRA COMPACT – At less than 1 foot in length and only about 1. 5lbs in weight you can fit this device virtually anywhere (a bag, a purse, even a pocket).
- READY WHENEVER YOU ARE – The DS-640 mobile scanner is powered via an included micro USB 3. 0 cable allowing you to use it even where there is no outlet available. Plug it into you PC or laptop and you are ready to scan.
- WORKS YOUR WAY – Use the Brother free iPrint&Scan desktop app for scanning to multiple “Scan-to” destinations like PC, Network, cloud services, Email and OCR. (2) Supports Windows, Mac and Linux and TWAIN/WIA for PC/ICA for Mac/SANE drivers. (3)

- Choose the desired result. Decide whether you need the initially loaded items, a particular item, a defined range, or a feed endpoint marked as finished. “Everything” may not be a meaningful target for a genuinely unbounded feed.
- Find a reliable signal. Prefer a known item selector, an item-count increase, a documented end marker, or another condition specific to the page. A wait for a selector can be more reliable than sleeping for an arbitrary duration.
- Scroll to trigger loading. Move down in increments appropriate to the page. Some sites load when a sentinel enters the viewport; others need a larger scroll or a different interaction.
- Wait for the site’s response. Wait until the expected item appears or the count changes. If no new items appear, determine whether the feed ended, the request failed, or the page requires another trigger.
- Capture after loading. Once the desired content is in the document, call
page.screenshot({ path: 'feed.png', fullPage: true }).
There is no universal infinite-scroll loop or stopping rule prescribed by Puppeteer’s screenshot documentation. The selector and completion logic must reflect the target site.

Example loop for a page with an item selector
Adapt the selectors and completion check to the site. The following pattern scrolls to the bottom, waits for the item count to grow, and stops after a configured number of rounds without growth. That last rule is a practical guard, not proof that the feed has a natural end.

- CONVENIENT AND PORTABLE –lightweight and small in size, you can take the scanner anywhere from home offices, classrooms, remote offices, and anywhere in between

- FAST AND EFFICIENT – No technical hurdles or complicated setups here; easily scan both sides of a document at the same time, in color or black-and-white, at up to 12 pages-per-minute, and with a 20 sheet automatic feeder
- BROAD COMPATIBILITY – Works with both Windows and Mac devices, be it laptop or computer
const itemSelector = '.feed-item';
const maxRoundsWithoutGrowth = 3;
let roundsWithoutGrowth = 0;
let previousCount = await page.locator(itemSelector).count();
while (roundsWithoutGrowth < maxRoundsWithoutGrowth) {
await page.evaluate(() => window.scrollTo(0, document.body.scrollHeight));
try {
await page.waitForFunction(
({ selector, previousCount }) =>
document.querySelectorAll(selector).length > previousCount,
{ timeout: 10000 },
{ selector: itemSelector, previousCount }
);
previousCount = await page.locator(itemSelector).count();
roundsWithoutGrowth = 0;
} catch {
roundsWithoutGrowth += 1;
}
}
await page.screenshot({ path: 'feed.png', fullPage: true });
This is an adaptable pattern rather than a drop-in guarantee: replace .feed-item with a selector that matches actual entries, and use the site’s own end marker or loading signal when available. If the page displays a spinner, wait for it to disappear or for an item count to change. A fixed timeout can still fail when requests take longer than expected.
Choose viewport, full-page, or element capture
| Capture method | What it is for | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
page.screenshot() without fullPage |
The current visible viewport; fullPage defaults to false. |
It does not include below-the-fold content outside the viewport. |
page.screenshot({ fullPage: true }) |
The full extent of the currently loaded document. | It does not, by itself, promise to scroll through an infinite feed and load unseen entries. |
elementHandle.screenshot() |
A particular element. The Puppeteer guide says this method tries to scroll a hidden element into view. | Bringing one element into view is not the same as loading every entry in the feed. |
For an exceptionally long feed, consider capturing a selected region or sections instead of one extremely tall image. This can keep the output manageable and make it easier to identify which range has been captured.

Troubleshoot missing content
- The screenshot is only the viewport: confirm that the call includes
fullPage: trueif you want the full loaded document. - The screenshot is full-page but still short: inspect the page before capture. If later entries are absent from the document, trigger loading with scrolling and wait for the relevant content.
- The scroll happens but no entries appear: check that your selector matches the feed, the site is not showing an error or bot check, and the scroll target actually triggers the page’s loading mechanism.
- The wait times out: the expected selector may be wrong, the request may be delayed or failed, or the feed may have ended. Check for a site-specific end marker or loading state instead of increasing a fixed sleep blindly.
- The capture is too tall or unwieldy: limit the number of loaded items, capture sections, or take a screenshot of a specific element.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot from a URL without writing a Puppeteer scroll-and-wait routine, ScreenshotNeo offers a one-request screenshot API. For an infinite-scroll page, it should not be treated as a substitute for site-specific feed loading logic; it returns a screenshot rather than guaranteeing that every possible feed item has been loaded.

Frequently asked questions
Does fullPage: true scroll the page for me?
It requests a screenshot of the full page extent; it is not documented as a command to load an infinite feed by scrolling.
Can an element screenshot capture the whole feed?
It captures a particular element. The guide says Puppeteer tries to scroll a hidden element into view, but that does not load all entries in an infinite feed.
