Short answer: Pump.fun and Raydium LaunchLab are separate Solana launch systems, not two buttons for the same listing process. Pump.fun starts a token on its own bonding curve and currently documents automatic migration to PumpSwap when the curve graduates. Raydium’s LaunchLab starts a token on a configurable bonding curve and migrates it to a Raydium constant-product market maker (CPMM) pool. For an existing token, trade through the pool it actually has after checking its verified mint address, liquidity and quoted price impact. A platform name alone does not prove that a token is liquid, fairly priced or safe.
What is the difference between Pump.fun and Raydium?
Both services let creators bootstrap a Solana token without depositing a conventional liquidity pool at the beginning, but they use different launch products and lead to different post-graduation venues.

| Decision point | Pump.fun | Raydium LaunchLab |
|---|---|---|
| Initial mechanism | Constant-product bonding curve documented by Pump.fun | Configurable bonding curve priced in a selected quote mint, commonly SOL or USDC |
| Early trading | Traders buy and sell against the Pump.fun curve | Traders buy and sell against the LaunchLab curve |
| Graduation destination | PumpSwap, according to current Pump.fun documentation | Raydium CPMM pool |
| Creator configuration | Uses Pump.fun’s launch and curve rules | Curve formulas, quote mint and fee arrangements can be configured within LaunchLab |
| Documented launch cost | No platform fee for coin creation; 0.015 SOL graduation charge listed on the fee page updated October 8, 2026 | Approximately 0.1 SOL LaunchLab fee plus approximately 0.015 SOL curve-account rent in Raydium’s fee comparison; pool, migration, network and other costs are separate |
| Trading fee information | 1.25% total bonding-curve trading fee on the documented curve page | Post-graduation fee follows the CPMM pool configuration; the reviewed documentation does not establish one universal rate |
The practical consequence is important: a Pump.fun launch is not an automatic Raydium listing. Older guides and social posts may describe a different migration arrangement, but the current Pump.fun documentation points to PumpSwap. Read the Pump.fun bonding-curve documentation and Raydium LaunchLab overview for the live lifecycle before committing funds.

1. The token starts on a constant-product curve
Pump.fun says every coin launched through its system begins on a constant-product bonding curve. The curve holds reserves and quotes a price from their relationship. Buys and sells change those reserves, so the displayed price moves as people trade. A larger order relative to the available reserves generally receives a worse execution price, known as price impact.

This is not the same as opening a normal order book. You are trading against the curve’s formula and inventory. The quoted amount can change between the time you request a transaction and the time it confirms, especially during a fast launch.
2. Trading fees apply before graduation
The Pump.fun bonding-curve page documents a 1.25% total bonding-curve trading fee, accessed October 13, 2026. Treat that figure as the fee for the documented curve scope, not as a universal charge for every later pool or route. Your wallet transaction can also include Solana network costs and any route-specific charges shown at execution.
3. Graduation is automatic and irreversible
When the documented graduation threshold is reached, the curve closes and liquidity migrates atomically to PumpSwap. Pump.fun states: “Graduation is automatic and irreversible. There’s no human step.” The migration is therefore a protocol event, not a creator’s later decision to request a Raydium listing.
After graduation, check where the token is actually trading. A chart, search result or social post that still labels a token “Pump.fun” does not by itself identify the current pool.

How Raydium LaunchLab works
1. Choose a quote mint and curve configuration
LaunchLab is Raydium’s separate curve-based launch product. Its overview describes launches priced in a quote mint, typically SOL or USDC, with no pre-seeded liquidity required. LaunchLab supports configurable curve formulas and fee splits, so two projects using the product may not have identical price paths or fee arrangements.
2. Buyers trade until the threshold is met
During the launch phase, buyers transact against the LaunchLab curve. As with Pump.fun, reserves and the curve formula determine the quoted price, and a large transaction can move the price materially. The curve’s threshold and settings determine when the project is ready to graduate.
3. Graduation creates a Raydium CPMM pool
At graduation, LaunchLab migrates the token to a Raydium constant-product market maker pool. The post-graduation pool has its own configuration and fee behavior. Do not assume that the fee or liquidity conditions observed on the launch curve continue unchanged after migration.
4. Costs have several components
Raydium’s fee comparison lists an approximately 0.1 SOL LaunchLab fee and approximately 0.015 SOL in bonding-curve account rent. It also lists separate pool-creation, migration and Solana network costs. Raydium notes that fee configurations can be added or changed and that rent and network amounts require live verification. These are documentation snapshots, not a guaranteed all-in price for every launch.

Launch cost comparison
Use the following figures as dated reference points, then confirm the amount displayed by the current launch interface and the transaction wallet.
| Cost category | Pump.fun | Raydium LaunchLab | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Creation or launch fee | No platform fee for coin creation listed on Pump.fun’s fee page | Approximately 0.1 SOL LaunchLab fee in Raydium’s comparison | Platform-level charge; may change with product configuration |
| Curve-account rent | Not stated in the reviewed Pump.fun fee page | Approximately 0.015 SOL listed by Raydium | Solana account rent, not the same as a trading fee |
| Curve trading fee | 1.25% total on the documented Pump.fun bonding curve | Depends on LaunchLab’s configured fee arrangement | Charged during curve trading, with scope determined by the product |
| Graduation or migration | 0.015 SOL graduation charge listed on the page last updated October 8, 2026 | Separate migration and pool-creation costs are listed; amount is not a single universal figure | Verify who pays and when the transaction occurs |
| Network fee | Varies with Solana transaction conditions and route | Varies with Solana transaction conditions and route | Wallet-level transaction cost, separate from platform fees |
Fees can depend on pairing, coin settings, the transaction route and which party triggers migration. Keep enough SOL for the stated charge plus network fees and possible account rent, but do not treat a balance estimate as a guarantee until the wallet shows the final transaction.
Which launch path should a creator choose?
Choose Pump.fun when PumpSwap is the intended destination
Pump.fun is the more direct fit if you want its established curve workflow and accept that the documented graduation destination is PumpSwap. Its listed creation fee is zero on the fee page, although graduation and transaction costs still apply. The trade-off is less control over the launch formula and destination than a configurable product provides.

Choose LaunchLab when Raydium CPMM and configuration matter
LaunchLab is the better structural fit when you want a Raydium CPMM pool after graduation, a selectable quote mint such as SOL or USDC, or configurable curve and fee parameters. Those options add complexity: you must understand the selected formula, fee split and the separate pool and migration costs before announcing the launch.

Do not choose on the basis of a venue’s popularity
Neither launch system guarantees buyers, sustained liquidity, a successful graduation or a safe token. A cheap creation path can still produce a market with little demand. A more configurable launch can still fail if the project has no credible distribution, usable liquidity or transparent token controls.
How to trade an existing token safely enough to compare venues
For a trader, the key question is not “Is this a Pump.fun coin or a Raydium coin?” It is “Which verified pool currently offers the route I intend to use?” Follow this process for every token.
- Verify the mint address. Copy the token’s full Solana mint address from a trusted project channel and compare it character by character with the address shown by your wallet and trading interface. Names and tickers are not unique.
- Determine the lifecycle stage. Establish whether the token is still on a Pump.fun or LaunchLab curve, or whether it has graduated. A graduated Pump.fun token should be checked for its PumpSwap pool; a graduated LaunchLab token should be checked for its Raydium CPMM pool.
- Identify the actual pool and route. A token can appear in multiple interfaces or pools. Confirm the pool address, quote asset and route used for your transaction instead of assuming that a search result selects the deepest market.
- Enter the intended trade size. Obtain a quote for the amount you really plan to buy or sell. Price impact is size-dependent, so a quote for a small test order does not predict execution for a larger position.
- Compare available liquidity. Look at the pool’s reserves and the expected output after fees. A familiar venue can still have a thin pool and severe slippage.
- Account for every fee. Include curve or pool trading fees, any routing or transfer charge shown by the interface, Solana network fees and the token’s own transfer behavior if applicable.
- Set a deliberate slippage limit. A very tight limit can make a volatile transaction fail; an excessively wide limit can allow an unexpectedly poor execution. Use the smallest tolerance that remains realistic for the quoted liquidity and market speed.
- Review the transaction before signing. Check the mint, input and output assets, pool or route, minimum received amount and wallet fee. Reject a transaction that changes those details.
- Recheck after confirmation. Confirm the received mint and amount in your wallet and save the transaction signature. A successful transaction proves execution, not that the token is legitimate or that the price was favorable.
Bonding curves, liquidity and price impact explained
Why the displayed price moves
On a constant-product curve, reserves move when a trade executes. A buy removes part of one reserve and adds the quote asset; the formula then quotes a higher price for the next buyer. A sell reverses the process. The larger your order compared with the reserves, the farther along the curve you move and the greater the difference between the starting quote and your average execution.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Why graduation does not automatically improve execution
Graduation changes the market mechanism and destination; it does not guarantee deep liquidity. A newly created CPMM pool can still be thin, and a heavily promoted token can experience rapid price movement. Compare the expected output for your order in the current pool rather than treating graduation as a quality or liquidity seal.
Best Value
Why route selection matters
Two pools can list the same mint against different quote assets or at different depths. A router may split an order across venues, adding route complexity and fees. The relevant comparison is the final amount received after all charges and price impact, not the headline price displayed by one chart.
Market context and what it does not prove
Memecoin activity is large but highly cyclical. CoinGecko’s 2025 State of Memecoins Report estimated average daily memecoin trading volume at $1.1 billion in 2023 and $9.7 billion in 2024, and reported total memecoin market capitalization of $150.6 billion in December 2024. Those historical sector figures describe aggregate activity; they do not predict demand, liquidity or legitimacy for a particular launch.
Manipulation and token-safety risks
A September 2026 arXiv preprint, “Meme Coin Factories: Uncovering Large-Scale Manipulations on pump.fun”, reports patterns including coordinated selling, copycat coins and social manipulation around Pump.fun. The authors also state that they did not purchase or use the services they reviewed to validate claimed functionality. Treat the findings as an analysis of reported patterns, not proof that every Pump.fun token, trader or service is manipulated.
The same caution applies to LaunchLab and post-graduation pools. Before buying, check whether the team has disclosed allocation and liquidity arrangements, whether the mint address is authentic, whether trading is unusually concentrated, and whether social claims can be independently verified. Neither a curve launch, a graduation event nor a listing on a known automated market maker removes smart-contract, liquidity, market-manipulation or operational risk.
A practical decision checklist for creators
- Destination: Is PumpSwap or a Raydium CPMM pool the intended post-graduation venue?
- Configuration: Do you need LaunchLab’s quote-mint, curve-formula or fee-split options?
- Budget: Have you separated platform charges, rent, migration, pool creation and network fees?
- Liquidity plan: What liquidity and trading support will exist after graduation?
- Verification: How will buyers find the correct mint address and distinguish it from copycats?
- Disclosure: Have you explained allocations, permissions, fees and any conditions that could affect trading?
- Contingency: What happens if the launch does not reach its threshold or the market remains thin?
A practical decision checklist for traders
- Confirm the complete mint address, not just the ticker.
- Identify whether the token is on a curve or in a graduated pool.
- Confirm the actual pool and quote asset used by the transaction.
- Compare liquidity and post-fee output for your intended order size.
- Review slippage, minimum received and network costs before signing.
- Assume that rapid social momentum can coexist with manipulation and thin liquidity.
- Use only funds you can afford to lose; a successful swap is not evidence of token quality.
Bottom line for the Pump.fun-versus-Raydium decision
Pump.fun is a PumpSwap-oriented launch path built around its documented bonding curve. Raydium LaunchLab is a separate, more configurable curve launch that graduates to a Raydium CPMM pool. For creators, select the product whose mechanics, destination and cost structure match the launch you can actually support. For traders, ignore the venue label until you verify the mint, current lifecycle stage, pool liquidity, route and price impact. The best venue is the one that offers the verified token a workable route for your specific trade at the time you transact—not necessarily the venue associated with the token’s original launch.
