Why Nacua gets the Week 4 lean
The Rams’ final injury report, published Oct. 2, listed Nacua without a game-status designation for the Oct. 4 game after he missed the previous two games. The report’s practice table used a hip designation, while McVay described the issue in the accompanying comments as groin soreness. Those are the report’s two different descriptions; neither should be treated as a confirmed fuller diagnosis.
McVay said Nacua looked sharp and strong in practice, but cautioned: “In terms of the snap count, that’s the thing that we have to be willing to navigate.” The Rams did not publish a snap-count limit, so his exact playing time remains unknown. His absence and possible managed workload make him riskier than a fully established starter, but the available information still supports him as the preferred choice over Kupp for this specific decision. Nacua’s 2025 totals are from the Rams player profile. The current-season figures are recorded in Nacua’s NFL game log and Kupp’s NFL game log. These numbers provide context, not a Week 4 target or fantasy-point projection.
What to check before locking your lineup
- Confirm Nacua is active for the Rams–Eagles game; a designation-free report is not the same as confirmation that he will play.
- Look for any final update on Nacua’s expected role. McVay raised snap-count management as a consideration but gave no numerical limit.

When to reconsider
If Nacua is ruled out, or a final pregame update makes his availability doubtful, do not start him. Kupp may then be your alternative only if he is confirmed active and fits your lineup; his Week 4 status is not established by the available information.
