But Sony’s August 31, 2026 launch announcement did not name One Piece or Jujutsu Kaisen among its highlighted shows. That means neither series is confirmed in the launch information—not that either is ruled out of every on-demand catalog or future schedule.
What is LIVE TV on PS5?
LIVE TV is a free, ad-supported entertainment destination announced by Sony Pictures Television for PS5. It combines linear channels—programming you tune into as it airs—with an on-demand library of movies and series. Sony described the launch lineup as having more than 100 channels, including two Crunchyroll anime channels created for LIVE TV.

The service is separate from the Crunchyroll app already listed among PS5 entertainment apps. LIVE TV offers channels and on-demand programming within its own destination; the app is a separate way to access an anime-streaming service. A show’s presence in one does not establish its availability in the other.

Which anime did Sony name?
Sony’s launch highlights included My Hero Academia, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, Sailor Moon, and a dedicated Black Clover channel. The announcement did not specifically mention One Piece or Jujutsu Kaisen.
#1 Best Overall
So if you are looking for either of those two series, the accurate answer is: Sony has not confirmed them for the LIVE TV launch lineup in its announcement. The announcement is not a complete episode-level schedule or a live catalog listing, so it does not establish that the shows are absent from all LIVE TV programming, its broader on-demand selection, or a later schedule.
How LIVE TV and the Crunchyroll app differ
| Viewing route | What it offers | Cost and availability established by the cited announcement | What it says about the two shows |
|---|---|---|---|
| LIVE TV on PS5 | Ad-supported linear channels and on-demand programming, including two anime channels made for LIVE TV | Free; Sony said it was available to PS5 users in the United States at launch, with Canada to follow | Neither One Piece nor Jujutsu Kaisen was named in Sony’s launch highlights |
| Crunchyroll app on PS5 | A separate anime-streaming app listed by PlayStation | PlayStation says availability varies by country; the cited app listing does not establish subscription terms or a current title-by-title catalog | The app listing does not confirm whether either title is available in a particular country |
For a specific show, check the current listing in the relevant destination for your country. The LIVE TV launch highlights and PlayStation’s app listing do not establish a current, territory-specific catalog result for either series.

Where and when is it available?
Sony announced LIVE TV on August 31, 2026, and said it was available to PS5 users in the United States at launch, with Canada to follow. Sony also said the service would expand to BRAVIA televisions later in 2026. The announcement does not support describing it as a worldwide PS5 service, and its stated future TV expansion is not the same as confirmed availability on those televisions.
Do you need a special accessory?
No special remote is identified as a requirement for watching LIVE TV. PlayStation lists an optional PS5 Media Remote for controlling streaming services on the console; it is a convenience, not a stated prerequisite for the service.
