Most PS5 homebrew launch failures come from a missing runtime prerequisite, not a damaged app. A jailbreak is not persistent: a cold reboot usually clears it, and rest mode commonly clears it too. Rerun the firmware-appropriate exploit, reload HEN and any required payloads, then verify that an ELF loader is listening on TCP port 9021 before changing files. If the runtime is ready, check title-ID registration, folder depth, permissions, mount completion, package order, network settings, firmware compatibility and the console clock.
Work through the checks below in order. Stop when the symptom is fixed; changing several variables at once makes it harder to identify the cause.

Start with the jailbreak runtime
Everything loaded by the jailbreak lives in volatile runtime memory. The PS5CEMU-HAR documentation describes it plainly: “Everything jailbreak-side is lost on reboot and usually on rest mode.” That means an app that worked yesterday can appear broken after the console restarts even though its files are untouched.
- After a cold reboot or rest-mode wake, run the exploit that matches the console’s firmware.
- Load the HEN used by your setup.
- Load
kstuffwhen the package or title requires its kernel patches. - Load
ShadowMountPluswhen the app is on a folder or external drive that needs its mount service. - Start the ELF loader before launching the homebrew title.
Do this chain again after every reboot-like event before diagnosing storage or permissions. If the app launches immediately after reloading the chain, no file repair was needed.

Match the symptom to the likely cause
| What you see | First checks | Runtime or storage detail |
|---|---|---|
| The app icon is missing | Reload HEN; verify the title ID is registered and correctly capitalized | Allowlist parsers can reject an entire list because of one malformed entry |
| The icon exists but the app will not start | Check the ELF loader on port 9021, then folder depth and permissions | The loader must be able to reach the title under /data |
The app reports that it cannot reach /data |
Start elfldr or add the title ID to the HEN allowlist |
This is a loader/allowlist failure, not normally a missing game file |
| CE-107750-0 appears after an FTP copy | Inspect the title directory and recursively set its files and folders to mode 777 |
Restrictive modes can prevent the console from opening copied files |
| A deployment finishes but nothing launches | Close the previous app and crash dialog; wait for the explicit ready or installed message | Uploading files does not necessarily start the title or complete mounting |
| An installed package opens to an error | Confirm base package, then update, then DLC; verify live kernel patches | Installation order and current kernel state both matter |
| Transfers fail or the store will not download | Check LAN routing, firewall, VPN/proxy settings and the console clock | Payload transfer uses the network; HTTPS stores validate certificates against time |
Step 1: Reload every required payload
Use the exploit and payload build intended for the exact firmware installed on the console. A HEN that works on one firmware range is not automatically suitable for another. After HEN loads, add the other components your app needs rather than assuming HEN alone is sufficient.
When kstuff is required
Some package paths need kernel patches supplied by kstuff. If a title was installed successfully but refuses to start, reload the matching kstuff payload and test again before reinstalling anything.
When ShadowMountPlus is required
Folder-based homebrew and titles stored on an external device may depend on ShadowMountPlus to expose the mount. Load it before launching the title. An app can be completely copied yet invisible to the launcher until the mount service is active.

Confirm the order
Follow the order documented by your exploit package: exploit first, HEN next, then kernel and mount components, and finally the ELF loader. If a payload reports failure, do not continue as if it loaded; restart the chain and watch for a successful completion message.
Step 2: Verify the ELF loader on TCP port 9021
Many homebrew launchers rely on an ELF loader commonly called elfldr. Its usual listening port is 9021. PS5CEMU-HAR documentation states that without a running loader, an app cannot reach /data; loading the listener or adding the title ID to a HEN allowlist resolves that specific startup condition.

- Convenient sliding collar, and cap-less design protects your content when not in use
- Compatible with most PC and Mac laptop and desktop computers with USB 3.0 ports
- Start the loader payload on the PS5 or on the host method your setup uses.
- Confirm that the loader reports a listening state on TCP port 9021.
- Relaunch the app while the listener remains active.
- If the loader is unavailable, add the app’s title ID to the HEN allowlist, reload HEN, then try again.
A firewall can make a loader appear absent even when the process started. Allow the relevant host or payload engine through the computer’s firewall and test from the same local network.
Step 3: Correct the title ID and HEN allowlist
Allowlist parsing is strict in OnionHEN. Each title ID must be exactly nine characters, use uppercase letters where applicable, contain no blank item and have no trailing comma. One malformed entry can cause the whole list to be rejected.
Use a clean list
- Remove empty lines and spaces before or after an ID.
- Use the complete nine-character ID, such as
PPSA99360, not a shortened name. - Keep letters uppercase.
- Remove a comma after the final entry unless the interface explicitly requires one.
- Reload HEN after saving the corrected list.
If the app starts after you remove all entries and add only one verified ID, the parser—not the app files—was the blocker. Add other IDs back one at a time.
Step 4: Check the folder depth and required files
The console must see the complete title directory at the path expected by the launcher. For the documented example, the directory is /data/homebrew/PPSA99360. The folder named PPSA99360 should contain the title’s expected files, including eboot.bin at the required depth.
Typical depth mistakes
- Correct:
/data/homebrew/PPSA99360/eboot.bin. - Often wrong:
/data/homebrew/PPSA99360/PPSA99360/eboot.bin. - Also wrong: placing the files in a similarly named folder with a missing or extra character.
When transferring a release archive, open the extracted folders before copying. Copy the complete title directory, not only the visible executable. If the app uses assets or a data subdirectory, those must remain in their relative positions.

Step 5: Repair permissions after FTP transfers
ProsperoStore documentation associates CE-107750-0 with restrictive permissions created during FTP copies. Its requirement is that the console can open every app file; the documented mode is 777 for the title folder and its contents.
- Connect with the FTP client or file manager used for the transfer.
- Open the title directory, for example
/data/homebrew/PPSA99360. - Apply permissions
777to the directory. - Apply the same mode recursively to every file and subdirectory inside it.
- Disconnect cleanly, reload the relevant runtime payloads and launch again.
If your file tool offers separate read, write and execute boxes, enable all three for owner, group and everyone. Apply the change recursively; changing only the top folder leaves the executable or data files inaccessible.
Step 6: Wait for mounting and clear stale dialogs
Deployment utilities can upload files without launching the title. They may also need time to finish a mount operation. Starting the app immediately after an upload, while a previous crash dialog is still open, can produce a misleading failure.
- Close the previous homebrew title.
- Dismiss any crash or error dialog completely.
- Wait for the tool’s explicit ready, installed or mount-complete message.
- Check that only one copy of the title exists in active scan paths.
- Launch once; do not start duplicate copies while the service is still working.
Duplicate title folders can confuse scanners and mount services. Keep a single authoritative copy while troubleshooting, then repeat the deployment if the ready message never appears.
Step 7: Validate the network path
Network problems affect both payload delivery and file transfers. A wired connection is the most reliable diagnostic baseline because it removes many wireless variables.

Console and computer checks
- On the PS5, open Settings → Network → View Connection Status and note the console’s current IP address.
- Confirm the computer running the host, FTP server or loader is on the same LAN and subnet.
- Allow the payload engine, FTP server and loader through the computer’s firewall.
- Temporarily disable VPN or proxy routing that could send traffic elsewhere.
- Ensure the router does not have client isolation enabled; that feature can block device-to-device traffic.
- If possible, connect the console by Ethernet and retry.
Use the address shown in the PS5 network screen rather than an old saved address. A changed DHCP lease can make a previously working host appear offline.
Step 8: Install packages in the correct order
For package-based titles, install the base package first. Apply updates only after the base is present, and install DLC after the update when the package instructions require that sequence. Installing an update or DLC without its base can leave an icon that cannot start.
Reinstall through Debug Settings when needed
If the title is present but still fails, confirm that live kernel patches are active, then use Debug Settings → Game → Package Installer to reinstall the base package. Add the update and DLC afterward in their proper order. Remove an incomplete or duplicate installation before retrying so the launcher does not select conflicting files.

etaHEN, kstuff and other HEN routes cover different firmware ranges. A payload can load partially yet fail at app launch when its build does not match the installed firmware.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Check the firmware version in the PS5 system information screen.
- Use a HEN and kernel-patch build that explicitly supports that version.
- Use an ELF loader build compatible with the same runtime.
- Read the current release notes for the exploit and payload projects before replacing a working setup.
Do not infer compatibility from another console or from an older tutorial. Firmware support changes as projects publish new builds, and the correct combination is version-specific.

Step 10: Fix the clock for store and download errors
ProsperoStore uses HTTPS. If the PS5 date or time is wrong, certificates can appear expired or not yet valid, causing downloads or store connections to fail even when the network is healthy.
- Open Settings → System → Date and Time.
- Set the date, time and time zone correctly, using network synchronization when available.
- Restart the store or payload service after correcting the clock.
- Inspect the store’s debug log for certificate or connection errors.
This check applies to HTTPS store operations; it does not repair a malformed title folder or a missing ELF loader.
Storage paths: internal data versus USB
Folder-based homebrew may run from internal /data/homebrew or from a mounted USB or extended-storage path, depending on the launcher and payload. Internal storage is the simplest baseline because it removes USB power, filesystem and mount variables.

Copy one complete title to the documented internal path, confirm its title ID and permissions, reload the runtime and test. If it works internally but not from USB, focus on ShadowMountPlus, drive detection, mount timing and the external path rather than changing the executable.
Check USB transfers
- Use a USB 3.0 drive formatted and mounted in the way your payload documentation specifies.
- Copy the complete title directory, preserving case and subdirectories.
- Wait for the mount-ready message before launching.
- Avoid leaving duplicate internal and USB copies active during testing.
Recovery paths by failure type
App missing from the launcher
- Reload exploit and HEN.
- Validate the nine-character uppercase title ID and remove malformed allowlist entries.
- Load the mount payload if the title is on USB or a folder mount.
- Rescan or restart the launcher only after the mount reports ready.
App icon present, launch fails immediately
- Verify
elfldris listening on port 9021. - Confirm the title folder is at the expected depth and includes
eboot.bin. - Apply permission mode
777recursively after FTP transfer. - Reload kernel patches and retry.
CE-107750-0 after copying
- Close the app and dismiss the crash dialog.
- Inspect the copied title directory for restrictive modes.
- Set the directory and all contents to
777. - Reload HEN and the loader, then launch once.
Package installed but no launch
- Confirm the firmware-compatible HEN and live kernel patches.
- Remove incomplete duplicates.
- Reinstall the base package through Debug Settings → Game → Package Installer.
- Install updates and DLC afterward in order.
A compact pre-launch checklist
- The console has not rebooted or exited rest mode without rerunning the exploit.
- HEN is active and the required
kstufforShadowMountPluspayload is loaded. elfldris listening on TCP port 9021, or the title is correctly allowlisted.- The title ID is nine uppercase characters with no blank entry or trailing comma.
- The complete folder is at the expected path and
eboot.binis at the expected depth. - Permissions are
777recursively when the files came through FTP. - The mount service has reported ready and no duplicate title folder is being scanned.
- The PS5 and computer share a LAN, firewall rules permit traffic, and no VPN, proxy or client isolation interferes.
- Packages were installed base first, then updates and DLC.
- The HEN, kernel patches and loader match the console firmware.
- The console clock is correct for HTTPS store operations.
If all checks pass and one title still fails, test a known-good homebrew title in the same runtime. A second title that launches points to that app’s files or package metadata; if every title fails, return to the exploit, payload and network checks rather than repeatedly reinstalling individual apps.
