The reported PlayStation Store offer has changed: as of Push Square’s October 7, 2026 update, the UK listing for Mafia III had been pulled, and Call of Duty: WWII was again listed at £54.99. The report did not establish whether copies claimed during the brief free window would remain accessible. Check your own account’s library and regional Store rather than assuming the offer is still available.
What happened to the free PS4 listings?
Push Square reported that Mafia III and Call of Duty: WWII briefly appeared as free full-game listings without a PS Plus subscription in the UK and several European markets. This was not reported as a worldwide offer. In its October 7 update, Push Square said the UK Mafia III listing had been removed while the issue was being addressed, and Call of Duty: WWII had returned to £54.99.

The report described the listings as an error being fixed, not a confirmed promotion. It did not say whether Sony would honor or revoke claims made while the games showed as free.

- Check your account’s game library. Sign in with the same PSN account used to claim the game and look for the full game, not a demo or add-on.
- Check the Store tied to your account’s country. Search for the full-game edition and inspect its current price. Store listings can differ by region, so another country’s screenshot or page does not confirm availability for your account.
- Check whether the game launches from your library. The available reporting does not establish whether earlier claims will remain valid, so do not assume continued access until you verify it on your account.
There is no confirmed current claim path for the reported UK listing: it had been pulled by the October 7 update, and listings in every other country were not verified. Do not treat a free demo, downloadable add-on, or bundle component as a free copy of the full game.

Was the offer available in the United States?
No. Push Square reported that the US Store listings remained paid: $29.99 for Mafia III and $59.99 for Call of Duty: WWII. Those were prices observed in that report, not a guarantee of current prices or prices in other countries.
The US PlayStation Store page for Mafia III: Definitive Edition identifies it as a PS4 game published by 2K and showed $29.99 during the reporting period. Its free demo and separately listed free add-ons are not the full game.

How does this differ from PS Plus Monthly Games?
This was a Store listing that briefly showed full games at no cost; it was separate from the recurring PS Plus Monthly Games benefit. Sony says Monthly Games can be added and played while the account has an active membership. That subscription-based access is not the same as owning a game through a Store claim, and Sony’s explanation does not determine whether claims from this unusual listing will be kept.
Sony also notes that availability varies by region and PS Plus tier. Check the PlayStation Plus games and benefits page for the terms applicable to your account.

Where to look for other free PS4 games
If this listing is no longer available, browse the Store’s free-to-play catalog for games currently offered at no cost. That catalog is a separate option; its existence does not mean either temporary full-game listing remains free.
