How to borrow a Prime Reading book

Sign in to the Amazon account with the eligible Prime membership.

Open the Prime Reading catalog for your Amazon marketplace. The catalog selection rotates, so check that the book you want is currently marked as available through Prime Reading.

Open the book’s listing and select Add to Library. Amazon’s UK help page identifies this as the borrowing action. The current help page says you may have up to 10 eligible titles at a time; if you are at the limit, return a title before borrowing another. Amazon Customer Service: Prime Reading

The cited borrowing instructions are from Amazon’s UK help center. If you use another marketplace, go to its local Prime Reading catalog and follow the labels and availability shown there.

How to return a Prime Reading book
Returning a title frees a borrowing slot. Amazon documents two ways to do it:

From the Kindle app
Select and hold the book cover, open its menu, and choose Return. Amazon says returning removes the title from your library; if you want to keep a book permanently, you can purchase it. Amazon Customer Service: returning a Prime Reading title

Confirm it is in the current Prime Reading catalog. Availability rotates, and a book you saw before may no longer be included.

Check which Amazon account is signed in. The borrowing account needs the eligible Prime membership.

Check your borrowed-title count. If you have 10 eligible Prime Reading titles, return one before adding another, according to Amazon’s current help page.
