Which iPad deal should you choose?
Choose the A16 iPad for everyday tasks on a budget
At the reported $399 for Wi-Fi and 128GB, the A16 iPad is the least expensive configuration in this group. It is the straightforward option for browsing, streaming, schoolwork, and other everyday tasks. Macworld notes that this model does not support Apple Intelligence, which may matter if those features are important to you.
Choose the iPad mini when portability matters most
The 128GB A17 Pro mini at a reported $499 is the compact choice. Its smaller size favors carrying it around or using it where a full-size tablet feels cumbersome. The price is not directly comparable to the larger iPads without accounting for that difference in screen size and portability.

Choose the M4 iPad Air as the full-size middle tier
The 11-inch and 13-inch Air listings were reported at $649 and $849 respectively for Wi-Fi models with 128GB. The Air suits buyers seeking a full-size tablet without stepping up to the Pro tier. Decide between the two sizes based on how much screen space you need and how often you will carry it.
Choose the M5 iPad Pro for work that benefits from the premium tier
The reported Pro prices start at $1,099 for the 11-inch 256GB model and $1,399 for the 13-inch 256GB model. Consider the Pro when its performance and display advantages serve demanding creative or professional work; otherwise, the higher price may not add value for your use.

Quick Recap

What should you check before buying?
- Match the configuration. Check screen size, chip, storage, and Wi-Fi versus cellular. A headline price for a 128GB Wi-Fi model does not establish the price of a higher-storage or cellular version.
- Compare like with like. The Pro deal prices are for 256GB models, while the listed Air, mini, and A16 iPad examples are 128GB. Compare the same storage and connectivity where possible.
- Include connectivity costs. Cellular models can cost more up front and require a data plan; check your carrier’s coverage and plan charges before choosing one.
- Budget for accessories only if you need them. A keyboard case can add substantially to the total, and Apple Pencil or keyboard compatibility varies by model. Check Apple’s model-specific accessory information before purchasing.
- Verify the live price and stock. The deal reports reflect listings checked October 6, not a promise that the same price or inventory persisted through October 7.
