Those are not the same kind of advantage. The event ran October 6–7, according to PC Gamer’s September 28 event preview; the prices below are dated reports, not confirmed live offers.
Which Prime Day gaming mouse deal fits your priorities?
Choose by shape and feel first, then use weight and specifications to narrow the field. A retro design does not make a mouse ultralight: PC Gamer lists the Retro R8 at 77 g, compared with 36 g for the Sabre V2 Pro and 54 g for the Viper V3 Pro.

8BitDo Retro R8: the design-led choice
The Retro R8 is the mouse in this group that most clearly answers the “retro gaming mouse” part of the brief. PC Gamer calls its appearance “super unique” and notes that the buttons sit recessed into the shell, a physical detail that may feel unfamiliar if you expect conventional raised buttons. PC Gamer’s assessment was: “The retro feel is definitely something to get used to, with buttons that are sunken into the mouse itself, but it’s a joy to use regardless.” That is the publisher’s evaluation, not an independent test result here.
#1 Best Overall
- Inspired by the Classics. A seamless match for your Retro Keyboard.
- Built with PAW 3395 Sensor.
- Charging dock as signal extension.
- Kailh Sword GM X Micro Switches - Engineered for up to 100 million clicks.
- Customizable control - Programmable buttons, left/right-hand mode switching, DPI adjustment with 6 levels, and polling rate adjustment via Ultimate Software V2.
At a reported 77 g, it is not the lightest option in this comparison. Its appeal is instead the combination of distinctive styling and a substantial feature set on paper: up to 8,000 Hz polling, 26,000 DPI, and up to 100 hours of battery life, as listed by PC Gamer. The sources do not specify the conditions behind that battery-life ceiling, so treat it as a manufacturer-style maximum reported by the outlet rather than a guaranteed runtime.
PC Gamer’s October deal page gave an event price of $31.48 against $49.99, while its separate roundup showed $49.99 at Amazon. These are differing snapshots, not proof of the current price in any particular country. Check the local listing and seller before buying.

Corsair Sabre V2 Pro: prioritize minimum weight
At a reported 36 g, the Sabre V2 Pro is the clearest weight-first alternative in the sale coverage. PC Gamer reported it at $69.99 at Amazon on October 5, 2026, reduced from $99.99. Those figures describe that dated report, not a guaranteed offer now.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Its battery figures show why maximum polling rate is not automatically the best everyday setting: PC Gamer reports up to 70 hours at 1,000 Hz, but 16 hours at 8,000 Hz. It also lists 33,000 DPI and up to 8,000 Hz polling. The cited coverage does not establish that most players need the highest polling setting; consider the shorter stated runtime alongside any preference for that setting.

Flagship alternatives: shape matters as much as grams
Razer Viper V3 Pro
Razer describes the Viper V3 Pro as a 54 g symmetrical wireless esports mouse. Symmetry may suit buyers seeking a less explicitly right-handed shape, but it does not establish that the mouse will fit every grip or hand. Razer’s lineup page also identifies the Viper V4 Pro as the newer successor, so the V3 Pro should not be described as the current top model in the line. The manufacturer page does not verify an Amazon deal price.
Logitech G PRO X SUPERLIGHT
Logitech G lists the PRO X SUPERLIGHT at less than 63 g, with LIGHTSPEED wireless and a HERO 25K sensor, and says it was designed for esports athletes. Logitech describes its design goal as “to create the lightest possible PRO wireless gaming mouse while retaining the quality, structural integrity and pro-grade standards that Logitech G delivers.” This is a manufacturer statement, not comparative independent testing. The product page does not establish a current Amazon price.

Do not confuse the SUPERLIGHT with the SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX
Logitech’s September 2024 announcement describes the PRO X SUPERLIGHT 2 DEX as an asymmetrical, right-handed design. That detail matters if comparing models: weight alone does not tell you whether a mouse’s shape will suit your hand or handedness. The cited announcement does not provide a weight figure for the DEX, so none is included here.
How to interpret polling rate, DPI, and battery claims
- Polling rate is a reported capability, not a requirement to use the maximum setting. The Sabre V2 Pro’s cited battery estimates vary from up to 70 hours at 1,000 Hz to 16 hours at 8,000 Hz.
- DPI figures describe sensor sensitivity settings; a higher maximum does not by itself establish that a mouse is more comfortable or better suited to a particular player.
- Battery-life ceilings need their conditions to be meaningful. PC Gamer attaches polling-rate conditions to the Sabre V2 Pro figures, but its cited Retro R8 coverage does not state conditions for the up-to-100-hour claim.
- Weight and shape work together. A lighter mouse is not automatically the better fit if its shape, button layout, or handedness is wrong for you.
Check the price and listing before ordering
The October event prices are historical deal reports. PC Gamer’s UK Prime Day gaming-mouse page, published September 30, and its October 5 Sabre V2 Pro report reflect dated coverage; neither establishes present inventory. Before purchasing, confirm the currency, current price, seller, and stock on the retailer’s listing for your region. The Retro R8’s differing displayed prices make that check especially important.
