For U.S. shoppers, WIRED reported these Kindle prices on October 7: the Kindle Colorsoft at $190, the 3rd-generation Kindle Scribe at $380 or $420, the 12th-generation Paperwhite Signature Edition at $170, and the 11th-generation Kindle at $104. When does the Kindle sale end?
Amazon calls its fall 2026 event Prime Big Deal Days, rather than Prime Day. Amazon says the 48-hour event runs October 6–7 and is exclusive to Prime members; its event page gives the U.S. end time as 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7. The deadline is Pacific time, so shoppers elsewhere in the U.S. should convert it to their local time.

The prices below are from WIRED’s October 7 roundup, which says it checked deals on the event’s second day. Offers and stock can change before the deadline, and the roundup is not a live checkout confirmation. Confirm the price, generation, and seller on the product page before placing an order.

Which Kindle deal makes sense for you?
Choose Colorsoft if color matters to your reading
The Colorsoft is the color option in this deal roundup. Color can help with book covers, illustrations, and color-coded highlights. If you mostly read text, a black-and-white Kindle may be enough. WIRED described the Colorsoft deal as $20 above its usual Paperwhite recommendation; that is the publication’s value judgment, not a universal rule about which device is worth buying.
Choose Scribe if you want to write as well as read
The Scribe is the larger, writing-capable Kindle in this group, positioned for reading and digital note-taking. The reported 32 GB and 64 GB offers differ in both price and capacity. Consider whether you need the higher-capacity configuration rather than choosing it solely because its reported discount is larger.

Choose between the Paperwhite and basic Kindle by price and display preference
The table’s Paperwhite Signature Edition is the 12th-generation black-and-white model; the basic Kindle deal is for the 11th generation. Compare the listing’s confirmed generation and features with your budget instead of assuming a discounted older model is the same as a newly announced one.

WIRED reported that Amazon had announced new 2026 Kindle, Paperwhite, and Colorsoft models shortly before the event, and that not all of the new lineup was available yet on October 7. The offers above name specific generations, so verify that the listing matches the model you intend to buy. A discount on the 11th-generation basic Kindle or 12th-generation Paperwhite does not establish that the newly announced model is on sale.

Prices and availability can also vary by market. TechRadar’s October 2 guide noted differences between U.S. and U.K. pricing and availability; its earlier observations are not a substitute for checking the current U.S. listing. Amazon’s event details and these reported deal prices apply to the U.S. context described here.
