What is Prem Keetanu about?
Directed by Apoorv Singh Karki, Prem Keetanu follows Vishal (Veer Pahariya), who meets Suhani (Aafiya Sayed) in college. They reconnect after she gets a corporate job while he struggles to find work and plans to study in the United States. Suhani’s boss, Ranjeet (Aparshakti Khurana), is also pursuing her. Nikhil Vijay plays Vishal’s friend, with Rakesh Bedi also among the cast. Hindustan Times spells Sayed’s name “Aadia.”

What works in the film?
A breezy, funny opening
Suri finds the first half light and breezy, with funny exchanges that give the film an inviting start. The buddy-comedy energy, particularly the easy chemistry between Pahariya and Vijay, is one of the review’s clearest strengths.

Likeable performances
Suri singles out Pahariya and Vijay as likeable, and says their performances help make the film entertaining in stretches. The opening’s comic timing gives their friendship room to carry scenes even when the central romance is less engaging.
Why does the romance lose momentum?
In Suri’s assessment, the love story does not develop enough emotional pull to match the film’s lighter opening. Its familiar boy-meets-girl shape makes it harder to stay invested as the plot moves toward its romantic resolution.

That conventional arc also affects how Suhani’s independence comes across. Suri argues that the ending undercuts her independence; the review’s criticism is about the effect of the resolution, not a reason to spoil its details.

Suri says several songs do little to advance the story, interrupting its momentum rather than strengthening the romance. The broader issue, in his view, is a screenplay that loses focus and seems unsure of its destination beyond the familiar romantic template.

Should you watch Prem Keetanu?
If you are in the mood for light Hindi rom-com comedy and enjoy the lead performers’ easy rapport, Suri’s review suggests there are entertaining stretches to enjoy. If you want a romance with a strong emotional build, a tightly focused story or a resolution that gives its heroine’s independence more weight, his 2.5/5 assessment points to reasons for caution.

Release date and where to watch
Bollywood Hungama lists the Indian theatrical release date as October 2, 2026. BookMyShow lists cinema ticket booking. The sources cited here do not name an OTT platform or home-release date, so streaming availability is not established.
