But speed is not an edge you can count on: Pons documents a 99% buy tax at launch that decays to zero over five seconds, and a bot can still face stale data, thin liquidity, failed transactions, or a total loss.
What the bot should—and should not—do
Treat this as an event monitor and risk-controlled transaction pipeline, not a machine for reliably buying before everyone else. A sound design detects a candidate launch, verifies it against the correct Pons v2 contracts, obtains a fresh tax-aware quote, simulates the intended transaction, and stops if any check fails. A successful submission does not guarantee inclusion, a particular execution price, or profit.

Pons describes the behavior of watching for new curves and buying before later arrivals as the kind of sniping its opening tax is intended to deter. That description is not evidence that a bot can consistently get an early fill or sell profitably.
Confirm the network and protocol version first
Keep testnet and mainnet separate
Robinhood Chain is an EVM-compatible Arbitrum Layer 2. Robinhood’s network documentation lists chain ID 4663 for mainnet and 46630 for testnet; ETH is the native gas asset. Its testnet is for development, and testnet tokens have no real-world value. The chain operates independently of Robinhood brokerage and crypto accounts.

Choose the intended network explicitly in configuration and check the RPC’s reported chain ID at startup. Do not let a mainnet private key silently use a testnet configuration, or vice versa. A minimal viem startup check is:
import { createPublicClient, http } from "viem";
const network = process.env.NETWORK;
const expectedChainId = network === "mainnet"
? 4663
: network === "testnet"
? 46630
: undefined;
const rpcUrl = process.env.RPC_URL;
if (expectedChainId === undefined) throw new Error("NETWORK must be mainnet or testnet");
if (!rpcUrl) throw new Error("RPC_URL is required");
const publicClient = createPublicClient({ transport: http(rpcUrl) });
const actualChainId = await publicClient.getChainId();
if (actualChainId !== expectedChainId) {
throw new Error(`Wrong chain: expected ${expectedChainId}, received ${actualChainId}`);
}
This checks identity, not endpoint quality or protocol correctness. Robinhood lists RPC and WebSocket endpoints and identifies Alchemy as its recommended infrastructure provider. The same documentation warns that public RPC endpoints are rate-limited and are not recommended for production. Choose infrastructure based on WebSocket support, limits, history access, failover, and API-key controls; no provider performance or price comparison is established here.
Use Pons v2 contracts and ABIs only
Before enabling trading, obtain the live Pons v2 factory, router, and relevant ABIs from Pons’s v2 contract documentation and verify that the deployed contracts match chain state. Do not paste in addresses from a different Pons version. Pons’s separate integration overview describes a V3 flow; it can illustrate an integration style, but its addresses and semantics are not evidence for v2.

- Classic, Elegant Design - Looks Cool & Fashionable
- Well-Constructed with Nickel-plated Metal Link Chain, Zinc Alloy Clasps, and Key Rings - Sturdy and Never Rust
- Convenenintly holds all your daily essentials with ease. From keys, wallets, bags, and all of your accessories can easily be attached to belt loops and purses or handbags. A perfect tool for a peace of mind. The metal key ring is round and keeps keys securely closed, providing strong fastening and no need to worry about your keys falling apart.
- This chain measures at 16" inches long, not including the round clips at the end. Clip measures 0.25" inches wide.
The available protocol material does not establish a complete executable bot configuration. In particular, do not invent an event signature, contract address, or router call to fill a gap. Make verified v2 addresses and ABIs explicit deployment configuration, and refuse to trade if they are absent or do not match the expected network.
Monitor launches without trusting a single event
Stream new activity, then reconcile it
Use a WebSocket subscription for timely event notification where your RPC service supports it. Treat a notification as a candidate, not as sufficient proof of a valid launch. Fetch the relevant launch and pool state from the v2 contracts, then confirm that the token, curve, and pool are consistent before preparing a trade. Event names and decoding must come from the verified v2 ABI.
Backfill in bounded ranges
Pons’s integration guidance demonstrates viem log reads and recommends indexing factory and pool events. It warns that wide eth_getLogs queries can time out on public RPC. For historical recovery, scan bounded block ranges, persist the last fully reconciled block, and retry failed ranges with backoff. On restart or after a dropped WebSocket connection, backfill from the persisted checkpoint and reconcile against current contract state rather than assuming every notification was received.

Deduplicate stored observations by their on-chain identity, such as transaction and log position, and make processing safe to repeat. If the provider returns incomplete history, errors repeatedly, or leaves the service unable to reconcile its checkpoint, pause execution instead of acting on a partial view.

Quote the opening tax and all other charges
Use the recipient-specific v2 tax
Pons documents an opening buy tax that starts at 99% and decays exponentially to zero over the first five seconds. This is a protocol-documented behavior, not an independently measured execution result. The tax applies to buys, not sells, and collected value joins launch fees. A quote based only on the bonding curve can therefore substantially overstate what a buyer receives during the opening window.
For a buy in that window, Pons specifies reading currentSnipeTaxBps(recipient) and applying the result in the quote. The relevant address is the token recipient, not merely the transaction sender. Ensure the quoted recipient is the same address that will receive tokens in the submitted transaction. Re-read the tax and relevant curve state immediately before execution; if the quote cannot be reproduced from fresh state, do not submit.

Include protocol and creator charges
Pons also documents a standard trading fee shared among the protocol, creator, and buyback, plus an optional creator tax set at launch. The creator tax varies by token, so read the token-specific setting rather than assuming a universal rate. Account for all applicable taxes and fees in the expected received amount and in the maximum-spend calculation.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Put hard limits around every transaction
Before signing, build a preview from current on-chain state and enforce limits chosen by the operator. The controls below are implementation safeguards, not a claim that the bot has been tested:
- Maximum spend: cap the total amount of ETH the transaction may consume, including applicable costs your transaction flow must budget for.
- Minimum received: encode a minimum token amount based on a fresh, tax-aware quote and chosen slippage tolerance.
- Expiry: use a deadline or other supported expiry so an old transaction cannot execute after its assumptions have changed.
- Fee and slippage accounting: show the estimated curve output, opening tax, creator tax if present, standard fee, slippage allowance, and gas estimate separately before signing.
- Fail-closed checks: stop if the chain ID is wrong, the quote is stale, the contract version is unverified, simulation fails, or the transaction preview differs from the operator’s limits.
Simulation and displayed values are estimates, not execution guarantees. Pons explicitly warns that displayed values are not guarantees of execution. Network conditions, contract behavior, transaction ordering, and available liquidity can still make a submitted trade execute differently or fail.

Protect the signing key and treasury
An unattended transaction process needs access to a signing key while it is running. Keep only a deliberately limited trading balance available to that process, restrict access to secrets, and separate bot operations from treasury and recovery funds. A human-controlled hardware wallet may suit separate custody or recovery; the available documentation does not establish it as compatible with an unattended hot signer or as a required purchase.
Log the network, contract version, transaction parameters, quote inputs, simulation outcome, and final transaction result. Do not log private keys or seed phrases. Add an operator-controlled shutdown path and a way to revoke or replace the bot’s signing credentials if the runtime is compromised.
Test the failure paths before any mainnet use
- Start on Robinhood Chain testnet. Verify the testnet chain ID and use test assets only; testnet tokens have no real-world value.
- Test detection and recovery. Disconnect the WebSocket, restart the service, and confirm bounded backfill recovers events without duplicate trade actions.
- Test quote safeguards. Exercise stale state, recipient mismatch, missing creator-tax data, and a quote that changes before simulation. Each case should block submission.
- Test transaction limits. Confirm maximum spend, minimum received, expiry, and simulation-failure handling are enforced by the transaction path, not just displayed in logs.
- Review the exact transaction. Verify destination contract, calldata, recipient, chain, value, and limits before permitting any mainnet signer to act.
Testnet behavior does not prove mainnet performance or profitability. Move to a funded environment only after the full transaction path is verified and the operator accepts that launch tokens can lose all value.
Risks the code cannot remove
Pons warns that launch tokens are volatile and may become worthless, names and symbols can be copied, liquidity may be thin, and smart contracts, wallets, RPCs, and indexers can fail. A token graduating from its bonding curve is not a quality signal. Fast detection cannot establish a project’s legitimacy or ensure there will be buyers when the bot tries to sell.
