An end-cycle Polymarket bot is a chain of decisions rather than a single trade. It confirms that a signal is still valid, checks the market and its executable price at the moment of decision, sends an order whose limits and time-in-force were chosen in advance, and then establishes from the exchange’s response what position it actually holds. Each step can fail. Polymarket does not guarantee the entry price, the filled size, or any profit. “Sniper” describes the idea of acting near the end of a market’s cycle. It is a label, not evidence that the approach has an edge.
What an outcome share actually is
Polymarket prices outcome shares between $0.00 and $1.00 USDC. According to the platform’s FAQ, a share representing the correct final outcome pays $1.00 USDC when the market resolves, and a share can also be sold before the outcome is known, for example to lock in a gain or limit a loss. A bot that buys a share is therefore holding a contingent claim whose market value moves until resolution.

The quoted price is a market price, not a forecast. The FAQ uses a YES share at $0.18 as an example and describes it as indicating an 18% chance. That is an illustrative figure from the FAQ, not a current quote, and it reflects what buyers and sellers are willing to transact at that moment. It is not a measured probability of the outcome.

The payout depends on the specific market’s resolution terms, which govern that market regardless of general platform wording. And the price in a signal is a snapshot. By the time an order reaches the book, the executable price may be different.

Step one: tie the bot to one market and its resolution terms
Before any signal is evaluated, the bot should be bound to a single market identifier and to that market’s written resolution rules. Do not infer settlement from the market title. Store the question wording, the named resolution source, the cutoff time, and any clause about ambiguous or cancelled outcomes alongside the bot’s configuration, so that a change to these terms is visible rather than silent.
Step two: signal confirmation
A signal is only useful if its inputs, time window, and intended entry price are written down in testable terms. Confirmation then means checking that the signal still describes the market as it is now. A practical confirmation gate includes:
- Freshness: the signal timestamp is within a maximum age you define in advance. Older signals are discarded, not reused.
- Remaining window: enough time is left in the cycle for the order to be sent, answered, and reconciled. A signal that would expire before the order can be confirmed is skipped.
- Market status: the market is open and accepting orders on the live platform, not paused or closed.
- Price agreement: the current executable price sits inside the band you set around the signal’s intended entry.
- No duplication: the signal has not already produced an order, position, or pending instruction.
Confirmation reduces the chance of acting on stale or contradictory data. The sources reviewed for this article do not test any specific signal, so passing every gate says nothing about whether the underlying idea is correct.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsStep three: refresh market data immediately before sending
Refresh the order book and the market’s metadata right before the order is built. Polymarket’s CLOB v2 client package, published on npm under Polymarket’s namespace, documents that the client fetches market tick size and fee details before signing an order. These values are market-specific, so the bot should read them at runtime instead of hard-coding a fee or tick size that may be wrong for the market in front of it.

At decision time, check:
- Best bid and ask, and the displayed depth at every price up to your maximum limit, for your intended size.
- The tick size, and whether your limit price rounds to a valid tick.
- The fee details reported for this market.
- The minimum order size stated for this market.
- The balance available after a reserve you keep for fees and contingencies.
This article covers the order-signing path described in the client documentation. It does not walk through a complete live feed or REST integration; take those endpoint details from the API documentation your bot actually uses, and check them against the version you have installed.
Choosing the time-in-force: FOK or FAK
The order type determines what “entry” means. Neither type guarantees that you end up with a position.
| Attribute | FOK (fill-or-kill) | FAK (fill-and-kill) |
|---|---|---|
| Execution behaviour | Immediate and all-or-cancel | Immediate; fills whatever size is available and cancels the balance |
| Result when depth is short | The whole order is cancelled | A partial position is taken |
| Suits a plan that | Needs the full size or nothing | Accepts a smaller position |
| Main operational risk | Frequent no-fill when depth is thin | Exposure smaller than planned; the bot must track the remainder |
| What the bot must read back | Confirmation of full cancellation and no residual position | The actual filled size and the cancelled remainder |
Choose the type before the signal fires, not after seeing the book. A bot that switches types mid-decision is making an untested decision under time pressure.
Bounded entry: set the limits before sending
Every entry should be constrained by limits that are fixed before the order leaves the bot:

- The Blue Starter Deck specializes in expanding and managing your hand through continuous card drawing.
- It enables powerful combos to inflict major damage by raising and lowering the number of cards in hand.
- This deck requires foresight and careful planning — victory goes to those who stay one step ahead.
- Each starter pack contains 60 cards.
- This product is for one player. Two players and two starter decks are required to play.
- Maximum limit price. The highest price the bot will pay. Treat it as a hard ceiling, not a target.
- Slippage band. The allowed distance between the signal’s intended entry and the current executable price. If the book has moved outside the band, do not send.
- Per-order size. Sized to the depth you checked at decision time, not to the size the signal would like.
- Balance reserve. A portion of USDC that the bot never commits, so fees and failed orders cannot exhaust the account.
- Aggregate exposure cap. The maximum total position across all markets and cycles, counting pending orders as exposure. A new order that would breach the cap is rejected locally.
- Local order record. Write the intent, the market, the size, the limit, and a local identifier to a log before sending. This is what makes reconciliation possible after a timeout.
- Send with the chosen time-in-force. Only after steps one through six pass.
After the order: reconcile before doing anything else
The order request is not the outcome. Read the execution response, then check the actual position and any open orders before the bot makes another decision. Requested size is not evidence of filled size.
Full fill
Confirm that the filled size and average price match the response, that the position reflects them, and that no residual open order remains. Record the exposure and update the aggregate cap from the filled amount.
Partial fill
Compare filled size with requested size. If the cycle window is still open and the remainder is still wanted, the bot should re-run the full confirmation gate, including a fresh book check, before anything else. If the window has closed, cancel any remaining open portion and confirm the cancellation. Do not automatically resubmit the remainder at a worse price to chase the original size.

Full cancellation with no fill
Confirm there is no residual position and no open order, then log the attempt as a no-fill. Any later attempt is a new decision that starts again at signal confirmation.

Rejected or errored order
Log the error text and the reason the platform returned. Check the balance, tick size, minimum size, and market status against the values read at decision time. Do not retry blindly; a rejection usually has a cause that a retry will not fix.
Timeout or unknown state
This is the most dangerous case, because the order may have executed. Do not resend. Query open orders and positions for that market and compare them with the local record. If the state cannot be established reliably, halt new entries in that market and alert the operator. Failing closed is the safer default, even though it means missing trades.

Quick Recap
- Monitor price, depth, and any event or news change that could affect how the market resolves.
- Define exit thresholds in advance, for both gains and losses, and decide whether each one triggers a limit order or a more aggressive exit.
- Treat stop logic as an instruction to try to exit, not as a guarantee. In a fast or thin book, a triggered stop may fill below the trigger price or not fill at all.
- Halt new entries when market data is interrupted, when reconciliation fails, or when the exposure cap is reached.
- Provide a manual kill switch that stops new orders. Decide in advance whether it also closes positions, because a stop that does not close positions leaves exposure open.
Failure modes to design for
- Stale book data: the bot prices against a snapshot that no longer exists. The pre-send refresh is the control.
- Duplicate entries: a timeout followed by a resend creates two positions. The local order record and the unknown-state rule prevent this.
- Restart mid-order: a bot that loses its in-memory state may forget an open order. On startup, reconcile against the exchange before accepting signals.
- Version drift: the client package documents its own behaviour. An installed version, endpoint, or market may behave differently, so test against the version you run.
- Connectivity loss: the bot may send an order and lose the response. Uptime and reconnection handling matter more than the choice of machine the bot runs on.
What the available evidence does not establish
- No published performance figures for end-cycle sniper bots are available in the sources used here. There is no win rate, latency advantage, or expected return, and this article does not supply one.
- No signal model or “sniper” strategy has been validated, and there is no basis for ranking signal models or naming a best configuration.
- Platform wording changes. The FAQ passages quoted here were captured in a search result, and the capture dates in the sources are not consistent with each other. Confirm current wording on Polymarket’s live FAQ and in the terms of the specific market.
- Access depends on jurisdiction and account eligibility. This article does not determine whether any reader is permitted to use the platform.
- Fees, tick sizes, and minimum order sizes vary by market and can change. The figures a bot reads at runtime are the ones that govern its orders.
