The reported starter evolutions for Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves are unverified. VICE reported on October 5, 2026, that the names and designs came from an anonymous 4chan post, and cautioned that the rumor has no trustworthy sourcing. The Pokémon Company has confirmed the games’ first partners—Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua—but has not confirmed their evolutions.
What does the alleged leak say?
According to VICE’s report, the anonymous post claims each starter has two evolutions and includes purported Pokédex entries. The following names, typings, and descriptions are claims attributed to that post—not confirmed game information.

| Starter | Alleged middle evolution | Alleged final evolution | What the rumor claims about the final form |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pombon | Barklava | Bombulu (Fire/Fairy) | A friendly Pokémon whose large, heated mane shelters smaller Pokémon in winter. |
| Browt | Ruffstrum | Kasquake (Grass/Ground) | It uses powerful headbutts and kicks and communicates with its herd through ground vibrations. |
| Gecqua | Flotokay | Cereguana (Water/Psychic) | It is described as highly perceptive; legends supposedly identify the mark on its forehead as a third eye. |
VICE says the post did not come from the TeraLeak files or the usual trusted Pokémon leakers. It originated on an anonymous board, with no major sourcing, and the report does not independently authenticate either the post or the alleged designs. Treat the names, typings, descriptions, and any images circulating with the rumor as unverified.

The announcement describes their revealed traits but gives no evolution names or later-stage typings. Confirming a starter’s name and base type does not confirm any of the alleged evolutions.
Are the reported evolutions real?
There is no confirmation in the official announcement or independent authentication in VICE’s report. The accurate description is that the names and designs were reported as claims from an anonymous post, not that the evolutions have leaked as verified game content. VICE itself advises caution because the post lacks strong sourcing.
