A Pokémon-themed room is worth considering when the specific experience and included extras justify the difference for your party—not simply because it is themed. Compare it with a standard room at the same property for the same dates, occupancy, meal plan, and cancellation terms. A theme does not by itself mean more space, a better location, or better value.
Compare the actual bookings, not just the room names
Start with the themed room and standard room you could book for the same trip. Keep dates, number of guests, meals, and cancellation flexibility as close as possible; otherwise, a price difference may reflect different booking conditions rather than the theme.

- Total price: Compare the full stay, including taxes, service charges, meals, and package extras. Use rates available for the same dates and occupancy, not a promotional starting rate from another period.
- Capacity and beds: Check the stated guest limit, bed types, bunk beds, and how children’s beds count toward capacity.
- Usable space and facilities: Compare room area, kitchen, table, laundry, and separation between sleeping and living areas. Verify these details for the individual property and room type.
- Theme inclusions: Identify what is permanent décor, an in-room amenity, a meal, or a take-home gift. A display prop is not necessarily yours to keep.
- Location and trip fit: Consider travel time to your plans, transit, dining, and whether the neighborhood works for your itinerary.
- Availability and restrictions: Confirm the room is offered at the specific property for your dates, along with any booking cutoff or limited inventory.
- Cancellation and payment: Read the terms attached to the exact rate before paying; a themed package may have different terms from a standard room.
Then ask whether the experience and the items actually included are worth the price difference to your group. There is no universal themed-room premium established by the examples below, and no single answer that fits every Pokémon fan.

This is a dated list, not confirmation that every property currently has inventory. Confirm the exact property name and dates on MIMARU’s current booking site before making plans.
MIMARU describes its apartment-hotel format as offering kitchens and living/dining space. The 2025 announcement also described room types for four guests and a new bunk-bed type. Neither a general brand description nor the announcement settles the capacity or layout of every room at every property, so check the listing for your selected room.

Seasonal packages need a date check
A collaboration package can bundle décor with a meal or special amenity, while imposing a narrow booking window and limited inventory. Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s 2026 “Pokémon 30th Anniversary Grand Adventure” announcement is one such example, not a currently bookable offer: its booking period ran from April 8 to August 24, 2026, and its stay period from June 20 to August 26, 2026. Those windows have passed.
The hotel described a 42 m² twin room, original collaboration amenities and décor, a breakfast buffet, and a special pancake. Its announced starting rate was ¥71,500 per room for two guests, excluding service charge and accommodation tax, with rates subject to reservation availability. The release also stated eight rooms per day and a reservation at least one day ahead. These are terms of that time-limited announcement, not a current price or indication that the package is available now. Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s announcement contains the historical offer details.

Make the booking decision
- Choose the property and dates first. Confirm the location works for your itinerary and that the themed room is offered on those dates.
- Match the booking conditions. Compare the same guest count, meal plan, and cancellation flexibility for the themed and standard options.
- Calculate the full-stay difference. Include applicable taxes, service charges, and any package inclusions; do not treat a historical starting price as a live quote.
- Check the practical fit. Confirm capacity, beds, room area, and facilities against your party’s needs.
- Value the extras honestly. Decide what the décor, meals, and confirmed take-home items are worth to your group, then compare that value with the price difference.
- Read the selected rate’s terms. Verify payment and cancellation conditions on the booking page before reserving.
If the themed option fits the trip and its confirmed extras are worth the difference to your party, it may be a good choice. If space, location, flexibility, or total cost matters more, the standard room may suit the same trip better.
