Pokémon TCG Elite Trainer Box Price: Is Walmart’s $120 Listing Really $20 Less Than Amazon?

The available listings do not confirm that a specific Pokémon TCG Elite Trainer Box costs $120 at Walmart or is $20 cheaper than the same item on Amazon. The headline does not name an expansion or edition, and those details matter: Elite Trainer Boxes are product-specific, and prices vary across Walmart’s assortment. Before treating this as a deal, match the exact box, seller, condition, shipping, and stock at both retailers.

Is Walmart’s $120 Elite Trainer Box really $20 cheaper?

That price claim is not verified for a matching product. Walmart’s assortment includes several named Elite Trainer Boxes with different prices, while the generic headline does not identify which expansion or edition is supposedly on sale. The available Walmart page also does not establish a comparable Amazon listing, so a $20 saving cannot be calculated reliably. Walmart’s Elite Trainer Box assortment is not, by itself, evidence of a specific $120 offer or of a same-item price difference.

To check a deal, compare the same expansion and edition at both retailers. Then check who is selling the item, whether it is new or used, the delivered price including shipping, and whether it is in stock. A listing for a different Elite Trainer Box is not a valid price comparison, even if the product category and packaging look similar.

What is an Elite Trainer Box?

An Elite Trainer Box is a physical Pokémon Trading Card Game product associated with a particular expansion. Its contents are edition-specific, so the expansion name on the box or product page is essential when deciding whether two listings are for the same item.

  • This also comes with 40 Pokémon TCG Energy cards, a player’s guide to the Mega Evolution—Perfect Order expansion, and 6 damage-counter dice.

  • And you will also find a code card for Pokémon Trading Card Game Live.

The Pokémon Company International’s 30th Celebration announcement specifies that its Elite Trainer Box includes nine expansion booster packs, a full-art Nidorina promo card, 65 card sleeves, 16 foil Basic Energy cards, damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, a plastic coin, and a storage box with six dividers. Those are specifications for that named product, not a universal contents list for every Elite Trainer Box.

Why the edition matters when comparing contents and prices

Different editions can include different items. For instance, The Pokémon Company International’s Prismatic Evolutions Elite Trainer Box page lists nine booster packs and a code card. Check the product’s own official description for its complete contents rather than assuming the 30th Celebration box’s list applies to it.

Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box

Use the printed expansion and edition name—not just “Elite Trainer Box”—to identify the product. If either retailer’s listing omits that information, or describes a different edition, the prices are not directly comparable.

How to verify a Walmart-versus-Amazon deal

  1. Identify the exact box. Record the expansion and edition name from the product title, box image, or official product page.
  2. Match the item at both retailers. Confirm that Walmart and Amazon list that same edition, not another box from the same expansion or a different release.
  3. Check the seller and condition. Note whether each listing is sold by the retailer or a marketplace seller and whether the item is new or used.
  4. Compare the delivered total. Include shipping and any applicable delivery or membership terms; do not compare one retailer’s item price with the other’s delivered price.
  5. Confirm stock before deciding. A displayed price is not a useful alternative if the item is unavailable or the listing changes before checkout.

Only after those checks can you subtract the two delivered prices and describe a saving. The available information does not establish a verified Amazon price for the same Elite Trainer Box, so it does not support the claimed $20 difference.
