The “new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release” arriving before the end of October is Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, Volume 6—a manga book, not a new Nintendo Switch game or DLC. ComicBook.com reported an October 13, 2026 release date.
What is releasing?
It is the sixth volume of the manga adaptation of the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet games, written by Hidenori Kusaka and illustrated by Satoshi Yamamoto. The series retells the games’ setting and story through its own narrative, including original characters and changes to plot details; it is a companion story, not a scene-for-scene replacement for playing the games.

What happens in Volume 6?
ComicBook.com quotes the book description attributed to VIZ Media: “With the Gym Battle against Iono finished and the raid upon Schedar Squad underway, Violet finds himself in an intense battle with Mela,” followed by, “Can Scarlet defeat the Lurking Steel Titan?” The description points to parallel action involving Violet and Scarlet as the volume continues the adaptation’s story.
