How to trigger Pumpkaboo’s Sweet Surprises
- Install Ver. 2.0.1 and verify the system clock.
- Complete the important request and rebuild the Pokémon Center.
- Learn Camouflage from Zorua at Bleak Beach.
- Start the game online once.
- After the event window has begun, move to another town and return, or select Quit Game and re-enter.
- Look for Pumpkaboo near a rebuilt Pokémon Center.
If all conditions are satisfied, the town change or fresh re-entry prompts the event check. You do not need to wait beside the Pokémon Center indefinitely.
How to earn Pumpkin Candy
- Find Pumpkaboo near the Pokémon Center and befriend it.
- Activate Camouflage and transform into an object or furniture item.
- Move close to Pokémon and use the disguise to surprise them.
- Collect Pumpkin Candy from successful tricks.
- Return to Pumpkaboo at the Pokémon Center and exchange the candy for event items.
The candy loop is deliberately repeatable: disguise, surprise, collect, then return to Pumpkaboo. Failed surprises do not provide the successful-trick reward, so stay close to nearby Pokémon and try again rather than leaving the area.

How to get Gourgeist
The event adds both Pumpkaboo and Gourgeist. Use the exchanged midnight-festival furniture to build the relevant habitat in town, then allow the habitat to attract Gourgeist. This is separate from the candy-earning loop: candy buys the furniture, while the completed habitat is what supports Gourgeist’s appearance.
