Published listings point to several overlapping shows rather than one confirmed canonical episode, so the host, date and chapter list matter when identifying the exact recording.
What the podcast coverage actually includes
The strongest common thread is a Nintendo remake discussion paired with coverage of Remedy Entertainment’s CONTROL Resonant. However, the listings do not establish that every item belongs to one single episode.

| Listing | Ocarina of Time coverage | CONTROL Resonant coverage | What the format suggests |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Back Page | Matthew says he played the remake and calls it “rather a nice surprise.” | The remake and CONTROL Resonant appear in the same listing. | An impressions-and-news package rather than a complete technical review. |
| Soapstone | A September episode discusses the remake alongside Kirby’s new open-world game and other industry news. | Soapstone also has a separate listing for a CONTROL Resonant episode. | Likely separate discussions within the show’s wider coverage, not proof of one shared recording. |
| Snap Aim | Not identified as the source of the remake impressions. | The host previews the game and interviews Sean Durrie about Dylan Faden. | A focused actor interview and preview segment. |
| Game Informer archive | “What We Want From The Ocarina Of Time Remake” is listed as a September 12, 2026 show. | Not identified in that listing. | A expectations or wishlist discussion, which is different from hands-on impressions. |
Without a publisher’s canonical feed link, runtime or chapter markers, these records should not be presented as one definitively identified episode. The title is best understood as a package description covering both subjects.

First impressions of the Ocarina of Time remake
The available descriptions support an early-reaction angle, not a finished review. The clearest assessment is Matthew’s description of the remake as “rather a nice surprise” after playing it. That wording signals a positive first response, but it does not establish a score, a performance result or a detailed comparison with the original.
#1 Best Overall
- This is the world edition. It has different packaging but is fully authentic and works on US region 3DS systems.
- The Legend of Zelda veterans can look forward to the Master Quest - a second quest with revamped puzzles and redesigned dungeons.
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is a masterful improvement on one of the landmark releases in video game history.
- “E10+”, w/Animated Blood, Fantasy Violence, Suggestive Themes
What the descriptions do not establish
- No frame-rate, resolution, loading-time or battery-life measurements are provided.
- No complete account of the remake’s visual changes, control scheme, accessibility options or new content is confirmed.
- The listings do not say whether the discussion covers the entire game or only an early preview build.
- There are no independently published sales, player-count or review-score figures attached to this coverage.
A release report places the remake on Nintendo Switch 2 with a reported November 5, 2026 date. That date is secondary-source reporting and should be checked against Nintendo’s official listing before you rely on it for a purchase or publication deadline. Until an official listing confirms the details, treat the platform and date as reported rather than final.
Who plays Dylan Faden in CONTROL Resonant?
Sean Durrie is the lead actor performing Dylan Faden, the central character discussed in the interview coverage. The conversation is framed around characterization and production rather than a conventional review of the sequel.
Topics covered in the actor conversation
- How Durrie gets into Dylan’s mindset and adds personal touches to the performance.
- What he is excited for players to see and how much of the game he had played during the interview.
- Development work, music implementation and the relationship between Dylan’s story and gameplay.
- Facial capture, movement or body scans and voice recording as parts of one complete character performance.
Durrie describes the capture process as enabling more detailed performances than were practical in earlier eras of game production. In an interview quoted by Final Weapon, he said: “The gameplay is extremely fun, and gamers are going to have a lot of fun killing monsters with Dylan’s abilities, but there is a massive focus on the story and what he does.” That comment points to a sequel balancing action with a substantial character and narrative role for Dylan.
How spoiler-heavy is the CONTROL Resonant segment?
The descriptions identify a preview and behind-the-scenes actor discussion, not a full spoilercast. They do not promise a spoiler-free interview, however. Durrie discusses his work, the character’s direction and how much of the game he had experienced, so listeners who want to avoid story information should check the episode’s warning and chapter labels first.
Rank #3
- Play the original Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
- Or the Master Quest edition with many bonus features
It is also important to separate an actor interview from a later review or post-release plot discussion. Talking about performance capture, music and character preparation can reveal production details without representing the game’s complete story or critical verdict.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is this one episode or two podcast segments?
Both interpretations remain possible from the published listings. The Back Page explicitly places the remake and CONTROL Resonant together, while Soapstone and Snap Aim show that the subjects also circulated as separate discussions. The safest identification is therefore “a podcast package” unless the publisher’s own feed confirms a single episode title, date and runtime.

Checks that identify the correct recording
- Match the exact episode title and publication date in the podcast’s official feed.
- Look for chapter labels mentioning either the Ocarina remake or Sean Durrie.
- Check whether the description names Matthew, Snap Aim, Soapstone or another host.
- Use the runtime and segment order to distinguish a long panel show from a short actor interview.
- Read any spoiler warning before playing the CONTROL Resonant section.
What listeners should expect
Expect two different kinds of information. The Zelda portion offers an early hands-on reaction, with the available evidence pointing to a pleasantly surprising result but not a full technical evaluation. The CONTROL Resonant portion is most valuable as a production and characterization conversation: Durrie explains how Dylan is built through voice, facial expression, movement and performance choices, while the preview framing gives context without proving that the episode reviews the finished game.
