The India-market POCO X8 starts at ₹29,999 for 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and its standout feature is a reported 9,000mAh battery. Fossbytes reviewer Hisan Kidwai praised the battery and 120Hz display after using the phone daily for two weeks, but that is a personal review—not a standardized battery test. The trade-offs he noted include modest low-light photography, video capped at 1080p/30fps, and a cluttered software experience.

How long does the POCO X8 battery last?
The India model is reported with a 9,000mAh battery and 67W charging. That capacity is unusually large for a mid-range phone, but capacity alone does not establish screen-on time or how many hours the phone lasts under a particular workload.

In a review dated 21 September 2026, Fossbytes’ Hisan Kidwai said he used the POCO X8 daily for two weeks as a secondary phone and played games. He reported being able to go two days without worrying about a charger, an anecdotal experience rather than a controlled runtime result. As he put it, “The real star, though, is the 9,000mAh battery.” Fossbytes review by Hisan Kidwai.
Battery capacity differs by region: India coverage reports 9,000mAh, while global launch coverage reports 8,340mAh. Do not assume that an X8 sold outside India has the same battery. India Today specifications coverage; 91mobiles global launch coverage.
Display, performance and software
Gadgets 360 lists a 6.83-inch display at 1280 × 2772 resolution (1.5K) with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, alongside the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. The review praised the display and described everyday performance as smooth. Those are reviewer impressions, not a claim that every game or demanding workload will run at a particular frame rate. The phone is reported to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Smartprix reports that the display is 12-bit and that the India model includes a 67W charger; those details are source-reported specifications. The same source says POCO announced four years of Android updates and six years of security patches for the device. Treat that as a reported support commitment, and confirm the current terms with POCO before buying on the basis of long-term updates. Smartprix specifications and support report.
Software was one of the reviewer’s complaints: Kidwai found HyperOS more cluttered than he wanted because of preinstalled apps and bloatware. That matters if you prefer a clean setup, though the review does not quantify how much storage the preinstalled software occupies.
Camera and video trade-offs
Reported camera hardware includes a 50MP main rear camera, a 2MP secondary rear camera and a 16MP front camera. Smartprix specifies optical image stabilisation (OIS) on the main camera and describes the secondary camera as a depth sensor. Kidwai’s review found low-light photos adequate rather than impressive, and said video recording tops out at 1080p/30fps. If high-resolution video or strong night photography is a priority, those limitations may matter more than the battery advantage. POCO X8 or POCO X8 Power?
Smartprix’s launch comparison puts the X8 Power above the X8 on battery capacity and charging speed, but capacity should not be mistaken for measured runtime. The prices below are launch prices reported by Smartprix, not a current like-for-like checkout comparison; prices and variant availability can change.

Who should buy the POCO X8?
- Consider it if a large battery and a big, high-refresh-rate display matter most, and the India 6GB/128GB model fits your budget.
- Look elsewhere if you need stronger low-light photos, video beyond 1080p/30fps, or a less cluttered software experience.
- Compare the X8 Power if you are willing to pay more for its reported higher battery capacity and faster charging, while checking current prices and the exact model specifications.
Overall, the POCO X8 looks compelling for battery-focused buyers at its reported India starting price, but the evidence for exceptional endurance is a reviewer’s personal experience, not a controlled test. Its camera and software compromises make it a less balanced choice for buyers who value those areas equally.
