Choose POCO M7 Pro for display refresh rate and charging
The POCO listing specifies a 120Hz display and 45W charging, compared with the M17’s 90Hz display and 25W charging. Its listed battery is also slightly larger at 5,110mAh versus 5,000mAh. These are specification advantages, not proof of longer runtime or a shorter real-world charge time; those depend on use and conditions.
Choose Galaxy M17 for camera flexibility and stabilization
Samsung specifies OIS on the M17’s 50MP main camera and includes a 5MP ultrawide alongside a 2MP macro camera. OIS helps compensate for hand movement, although Samsung notes that results vary with conditions. The POCO’s listed rear cameras are 50MP and 2MP, and its main-camera specification does not document OIS. The POCO does list a higher-resolution 20MP selfie camera than the M17’s 13MP, but megapixels alone do not establish which phone takes better photos.

The M17 launched with Android 15 and One UI 7, while the POCO listing gives Android 14 with HyperOS. Samsung states a plan for six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the M17. Its product information says these are current plans, not a commitment or obligation, and that timing or content may change. Samsung’s product-page support information
What IP64 and IP54 mean for everyday use
The POCO’s listed IP64 rating and the M17’s IP54 rating describe ingress protection; neither means the phone is waterproof or indestructible. Samsung also lists Gorilla Glass Victus for the M17. Treat these ratings as protection specifications, not a reason to expose either phone deliberately to water or damage.
Quick Recap
How to make a fair buying comparison
- Match the configuration. Compare the same RAM and storage capacity where possible. The cited POCO prices are for 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB, while Samsung’s announced tiers are 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB.
- Check seller and date. Confirm the retailer, stock status and whether a displayed price depends on a launch offer, bank offer or other condition.
- Compare the final checkout amount. Do not subtract a historical launch price from a later listing and call the result today’s price difference.
- Decide which specifications matter to you. Favor the POCO for the higher listed refresh rate and charging wattage; favor the M17 for OIS, an ultrawide camera and Samsung’s stated support plan.
