The POCO F9 Pro’s Aurora Green finish is the attention-grabber, but the phone’s case rests on more than a glow: it pairs a high-refresh AMOLED display and flagship-tier listed processor with a three-camera rear system, a large battery, and both wired and wireless charging. The glow itself is described by Xiaomi as soft and uniform; a published Gizmochina review calls it subtle rather than especially bright. Whether the package is compelling value depends on the price and configuration available in your market.
What makes the Aurora Green back glow?
The luminous finish is specific to the Aurora Green version. Xiaomi says the full back panel emits a soft, uniform, long-lasting glow after exposure to sunlight or indoor lighting. The effect is a finish feature, not a separate light source or an indication of a performance function.

In its review updated September 27, 2026, Gizmochina’s Holly described the glow as subtle and not especially bright. That is the reviewer’s subjective impression, rather than a measured brightness result. Xiaomi also notes that available colors can vary by country or region, so check local listings if Aurora Green is the reason you are considering the phone. Xiaomi’s UK product information describes the glow, and its regional FAQ says color availability varies.

What hardware does the POCO F9 Pro offer?
POCO’s global specifications list a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series processor (SM8850-1-AB), 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage in 256GB or 512GB configurations. These are manufacturer-listed specifications; they do not, by themselves, establish how the phone compares with a particular rival in sustained workloads.

The phone measures 157.49 × 75.25 × 8.79mm and weighs 206g according to POCO’s global specification page, which cautions that lab data and actual results may vary. It is not unusually tiny or featherweight on those numbers, so buyers who prioritize one-handed use should consider the dimensions and weight alongside the display size.
Is the display smooth and suitable for gaming?
The 6.59-inch AMOLED panel has a listed resolution of 2510 × 1156 and a maximum refresh rate of 185Hz. POCO says the active refresh rate varies with the interface and game image quality, so 185Hz is a maximum specification, not a rate every app or game will use. Holly’s Gizmochina review reports smooth display behavior and a 15-minute Genshin Impact test at maximum settings that stayed close to 60fps, with minor dips. That is one reviewer-reported game and test period, not a guarantee of a sustained frame rate across games, longer sessions, ambient conditions, or individual devices. The available review evidence does not establish outdoor readability through a measured brightness comparison.

The official specifications list rear video recording up to 4K at 30 or 60 frames per second. Holly’s review describes everyday camera output positively, but that observation is not a controlled comparison and does not establish how the phone performs in every lighting or subject scenario. Check sample images from the review and compare them with phones in your local price range if camera quality is a deciding factor.
What should you expect from battery life and charging?
Xiaomi UK lists a 6,330mAh typical-capacity battery, 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse charging. Holly’s review says battery life was reliable enough for a full day in the reviewer’s use; it is an individual experience, not a standardized endurance result or a promise for every user.

Charging convenience depends on what comes in the box and what accessories you own. Xiaomi UK says the power adapter is not included, recommends a Xiaomi 100W-or-higher adapter or a 100W adapter supporting PD, and says wireless chargers are sold separately. How durable is it, and what does IP68 mean here?
POCO lists an IP68 rating, but that should not be read as “waterproof.” The global specifications describe laboratory testing in static fresh water up to 1.5m for up to 30 minutes, under a specified temperature difference. The same page warns that real-world conditions differ, resistance can decline with wear or damage, and beach or pool use should be avoided. Keep the phone away from water where possible, especially after drops or repairs.

Is it a flagship killer worth buying?
The strongest case is a bundle of headline specifications: a high-refresh AMOLED display, a capable listed processor with 12GB RAM, a stabilized main camera plus stabilized telephoto, and a high-capacity battery with wired and wireless charging. The Aurora Green glow adds visual distinction, but its subtle appearance may not be a reason to choose the phone on its own.
There is not enough directly comparable, independent evidence here to call it the best-value option or to settle questions such as sustained performance against a named competitor, camera superiority, or all-day battery life for every usage pattern. Compare the actual local price with alternatives offering similar storage, camera hardware, charging, and support; verify storage, color, network-band support, and box contents for the exact regional model before ordering.
