Tinder describes itself as available in 190+ countries and 40+ languages on its overview page, updated September 1, 2026. That is a platform-published availability figure, not a measure of how many active, compatible members live near you.
POF: swiping plus search and a documented First Contact route
POF’s Meet Me feature also lets members indicate interest in profiles, with mutual interest opening a chat. Its official materials additionally describe search and discovery, giving members another way to find profiles beyond a swipe feed. POF’s First Contacts feature can let a member message someone before a mutual match, while mutual matches can message directly. The feature has limits; POF identifies Prestige or à-la-carte First Contacts as ways to get more.
That extra contact route is a meaningful difference, not a guarantee that a recipient will respond.
