PLAYSTUDIOS announced a 1-for-10 reverse stock split of its Class A and Class B common stock. The company specified an effective time of 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on September 30, 2026, and said Class A shares were expected to begin trading on a split-adjusted basis at the October 1 market open under the existing ticker, MYPS. The release set out the schedule; it is not independent confirmation that the post-split trading began as planned.
What a 1-for-10 reverse split means for MYPS shares
For each class, every 10 shares outstanding immediately before the effective time are consolidated into one share of the same class. The split changes the number of shares and the per-share price relationship; it does not by itself change the value of the company or establish that the stock has gained value.
For example, a holder with 100 Class A shares would generally have 10 Class A shares after the consolidation, before any adjustment for fractional entitlements. The same ratio applies separately to Class B shares. PLAYSTUDIOS said the par value, authorized share counts, and relative voting rights of the two classes would not change.
Fractional shares and account processing
The company said it would not issue fractional shares. Instead, cash in lieu is calculated by multiplying the fractional share entitlement by the official Nasdaq closing price on September 30, adjusted for the split. As a result, an account’s final share count and cash payment can depend on fractional holdings and how the holder’s broker or nominee processes the adjustment.

- Holders whose shares are in book-entry form do not need to take action, according to the company.
- Shares held through a broker or other nominee are adjusted through that intermediary, subject to its procedures.
When the split took effect and when trading was scheduled to change
PLAYSTUDIOS’ September 24, 2026 release gave two distinct times: the stated legal effective time was 5:00 p.m. ET on September 30, and the scheduled start of split-adjusted trading for Class A shares was the October 1 market open. The ticker was to remain MYPS. The announced new CUSIP for Class A stock was 72815G306.
Nasdaq Trader’s September 29 corporate-action notice also identified October 1, but labeled that date as when the split would “become effective.” That differs from the issuer’s September 30, 5:00 p.m. ET effective-time wording; the two dates should not be conflated. The available notices establish the announced schedule, not whether trading subsequently began on that basis.

Why PLAYSTUDIOS said it chose the split
The company’s stated purpose was to support efforts to regain compliance with Nasdaq’s $1.00 minimum bid price requirement for continued listing on the Nasdaq Capital Market. That is a stated objective, not proof that compliance was restored or that it would be maintained.
A reverse split mechanically reduces the share count and proportionately raises the per-share price implied by an unchanged equity value, before market movements. It does not guarantee a lasting price increase, improve operating performance, or ensure continued listing compliance.

What shareholders approved and what the board selected
At its 2026 annual meeting, stockholders approved authority for a reverse split in a range from 1-for-10 to 1-for-30. The company later announced that the board selected the 1-for-10 ratio for this action. The approved range was authorization, not a set of alternative ratios applied to shareholders.

PLAYSTUDIOS said outstanding equity awards, option exercise prices, and the number of shares available under equity plans would be adjusted proportionately as applicable under the relevant plan terms.

The company also reported that it repurchased approximately 4.3 million Class A shares through September 24, 2026, during the third quarter, for a total of $3.0 million and an average of approximately $0.71 per share. It said the purchases were made under an existing Rule 10b5-1 plan. These are company-reported figures through that date and are separate from the mechanics of the reverse split.
