You can add money to your PlayStation wallet from the PlayStation App by redeeming a PlayStation Store wallet voucher. Sony’s documented direct payment top-up route is on PlayStation Store in a browser or on a console; the app’s documented wallet feature is checking your balance, not adding funds by card.
Redeem a wallet voucher in the PlayStation App
- Open the PlayStation Store in the app.
- Tap the menu icon at the top right.
- Choose Redeem Code.
- Enter the 12-digit voucher code and tap Continue.
- Check that the credit was applied to the account you intended.
The voucher must match the country or region of the PlayStation account. Codes can be used once, and wallet funds or purchased content cannot be transferred between accounts. A wallet top-up voucher for a child account must be redeemed on the family manager’s account. PlayStation Support’s voucher instructions cover code redemption and region requirements.

Top up directly through PlayStation Store online
- Sign in to PlayStation Store in a browser.
- Open the profile menu.
- Select Payment Management > Add Funds.
- Choose an available payment method and amount, then select Add Funds.
Sony also documents wallet top-ups on PS5 and PS4. The payment methods available depend on the country or region set for your store account, so check the accepted payment methods for your region before trying a card or payment service. The US list, for example, is not a worldwide list.

Check your wallet balance in the app
- Tap the PlayStation Store icon at the bottom of the app.
- Tap the menu icon at the top right.
- Choose Payment Methods. The wallet balance appears at the top.
This screen lets you check the balance; it is not the documented direct card top-up flow. Sony’s wallet guide explains the supported ways to add funds and view wallet information.

What to know before adding money
Child accounts use the family manager’s wallet
A child account does not have its own wallet and cannot add funds to one. Purchases draw from the family manager’s wallet, subject to a monthly spending limit that the manager controls. Sony says the limit defaults to zero. See PlayStation’s family and parental-control guidance.
Wallet funds are used first and cannot be refunded
Sony says wallet funds are used first when you make a purchase. If they do not cover the full amount, the remainder may be charged to another payment method. Sony also states: “Funds added to your wallet can’t be refunded.” Read the wallet terms and funding details before topping up.

If a top-up or voucher does not work
- The balance has not changed: Check your transaction history to see whether the top-up or redemption completed. Sony’s transaction-history instructions show where to look.
- A card is rejected: Confirm the payment method is accepted for your account’s store region, or use another available payment method or a region-matched voucher.
- A voucher code is rejected: Check that it has 12 digits, has not already been used, matches the account region, and is being redeemed on the account that should receive the credit.
- Store features appear unavailable: Check PlayStation Status before retrying.
