Amazon’s October sale is called Prime Big Deal Days, not Prime Day. It runs October 6–7, 2026, and ends at 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7, so today is the last day. Amazon says Prime membership is required for event deals. Amazon’s own event listing is broad and doesn’t confirm specific PS5 prices. The most concrete PS5 examples come from a Tom’s Guide gaming roundup published in early October 2026. They are five games and accessories, not ten confirmed offers, so this guide lists those five and shows you how to judge any other PS5 deal.
Which sale is this, and when does it end?
- Prime Big Deal Days (October): October 6–7, 2026, 48 hours, ending 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 7 (7:59 a.m. UTC on October 8). Prime membership is required for event offers, per Amazon’s event page.
- Prime Day (summer): a separate event that ran June 23–26, 2026. It is over.
- Days of Play: PlayStation’s own sale ran May 27–June 10, 2026. It is also over. Sony said its promotions ran through PlayStation Direct (where available), participating retailers (prices may vary) and PlayStation Store.
Amazon lists Prime at $14.99 a month or $139 a year, with a free 30-day trial for eligible new customers. These terms can change, so confirm them on Amazon before you sign up. With under a day left, a trial is the only realistic way to access member-only pricing without paying for a full plan.

PS5 deals reported in early October
The figures below come from Tom’s Guide’s early October 2026 Prime Big Deal Days gaming roundup, which said PS5 games and accessories were on sale from $6. They are reported prices at the time of publication. Amazon prices, stock and sellers change quickly, so check the product page before you buy.
| Product | Reported price | Reported prior price | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| God of War Ragnarök (PS5 game) | $37 | $69 | Check that the listing is the PS5 edition and whether it is disc or digital. |
| The Last of Us Part I (PS5 game) | $37 | $69 | Same check on format and edition. |
| Razer BlackShark V2 X headset | $31 | $49 | Works with PS5, Xbox or PC, per the roundup. |
| Logitech G29 Driving Force wheel and pedals | $229 | $299 | Compatible with PS5, PS4 and PC, per the roundup. Confirm your games support it. |
| Samsung 990 Pro 2TB SSD | $389 | $639 | Listed as a PS5 SSD pick. Confirm heatsink and PS5 compatibility before buying. |
The “prior price” is the one the roundup reports. It isn’t an independent price history, so a large markdown percentage doesn’t prove a record low.

Console deals: what to verify
No specific Amazon console price is confirmed for this event. If you see one, confirm these details before paying:
- Model and edition: PS5 slim or another model, disc or digital.
- Storage: capacity varies by model, so compare like with like.
- Bundle contents: which game or extra controller is included, and whether you’d want it anyway.
- Seller and condition: sold by Amazon or a third party, and new or refurbished. PlayStation Direct also sells certified refurbished PS5 slim digital consoles, but that is a separate store and not an Amazon event offer.
- Return terms and stock: especially for third-party sellers.
How to tell a real deal from a marked-up “sale”
- Open the product page and check the price and whether it says it is a Prime-exclusive offer.
- Check “Ships from / Sold by” so you know who is selling.
- Confirm the format: physical disc or digital code, PS5 or PS4 version.
- For accessories, confirm compatibility with your PS5 model and any setup needed. A wheel only helps if you play racing games that support it. An SSD needs to be installed in the console’s expansion slot.
- Add the full cost, including any Prime fee and accessories you’d still need, then compare it with the price at other retailers.
- Don’t buy just because a discount is large. If you wouldn’t buy it at the lower price, it isn’t a bargain.
Games versus accessories
Games are the simplest purchases because they work with any PS5. Accessories are different: a headset, wheel or SSD only helps if it fits your setup. A $31 headset can be an easy upgrade, but a $389 SSD is a large spend that matters only if you’re short on storage.
