Asked directly whether fans should expect a next game, he answered “no comment.” His remarks came in a Famitsu interview about the Bayonetta costume collaboration with Stellar Blade.
What Inaba said about Bayonetta’s future
Famitsu asked Inaba whether PlatinumGames had a next move ready for Bayonetta. He said he could not answer at that time, then described wanting to expand Bayonetta as a character and broaden her world, asking readers to wait and see what form that might take. Nintendo Everything’s English translation renders his follow-up to a direct question about a next game as: “I’m sorry, but ‘no comment’ (laughs).”

That is an expression of interest, not confirmation that Bayonetta 4 or another game is in development. Kim Hyung Tae, SHIFT UP CEO and Stellar Blade director, joked that he would ask Inaba off the record after the interview; the exchange is not evidence of a private confirmation.

The conversation took place in a Famitsu interview with Inaba and Kim in connection with the Stellar Blade and Bayonetta costume collaboration. Inaba joked about working until “Bayonetta 10”; it was a joke, not a roadmap. Kim also said the franchise was approaching 17, referring to its age rather than sales or performance.
#1 Best Overall
- Witch fell her angel with her smile and beautiful black hair
- The Nintendo Switch is the origin of the action game series that works with the beautiful and brutal witch "Beyonetta"
- The thrill of throwing off your enemy attacks with a single sheet of paper, and the variety of combos will overwhelm your enemy. You can enjoy brilliant and extreme climax action with the angels of attacking
Kim described the initial collaboration as costume-only and said he hoped there might be an opportunity for more content in the future. Inaba said PlatinumGames had also been exploring a Bayonetta collaboration. Those comments discuss hopes and possibilities, not a confirmed follow-up crossover.

PlatinumGames’ September 30, 2026 announcement said four Bayonetta collaboration outfits had been announced for Stellar Blade. The fourth was unveiled at Tokyo Game Show 2026 and designed by Kim. The announcement scheduled the costumes for November 5, 2026 (PT/GMT) on PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. That is the date given in the announcement, not confirmation here that the release has since occurred.
Rank #2
- Journey into the Avalon Forest as Cereza—a young Bayonetta—and her very first demon, Cheshire, to gain the power to save her mother
- Control both Cereza and Cheshire simultaneously and coordinate to solve puzzles and beat faeries
- Colorful environments look as if they were painted by hand, and fully narrated story scenes are told through the vibrantly illustrated pages of a storybook
Famitsu says the Nintendo Switch 2 Complete Edition includes the collaboration outfits. This is a Stellar Blade edition, not a Bayonetta game or a standalone costume product.
