Find the model name or number first, then follow its own manual. The Voyager 5200 Series is one example with a detailed guide; its instructions below apply to that series, not to every PLT headset.
Identify your Plantronics PLT headset before changing settings
Look for the model name or number on the headset, its packaging, or its support materials. Official HP support pages cover distinct families including Voyager 4300, Voyager 8200, Blackwire 3300, Blackwire 5200, and Voyager Adapter products. “PLT” alone is not enough to determine which instructions or accessories fit.

Pair and use a Voyager 5200 Series headset
Pair it with a phone or other device
The Voyager 5200 Series manual says the headset enters pairing mode the first time it is powered on. In the device’s Bluetooth settings, select PLT V5200 Series. The 2021 user guide says it can pair with up to eight devices and maintain two simultaneous connections, including a Bluetooth USB adapter. These limits are specific to this series.

Wear it and manage calls
Wear the headset over and behind your ear, with the microphone boom rotated toward your mouth. Change the eartip if needed to improve fit. The guide describes three ways to answer an incoming call: put on the headset, say “answer” after the call is announced, or tap the Call button. Press the Call button to end a call; hold it for two seconds to reject an incoming call. Press the Mute button to mute or unmute an active call.
Fix “Callers can’t hear me” on a Voyager 5200
If callers cannot hear you, the Voyager 5200 manual suggests checking the headset’s pairing and connection, then repositioning it. If the problem continues, try resetting or disabling the headset sensors. Sensor behavior may vary with ear shape, and phone compatibility can affect audio.

If an update fails, the manual describes connecting the headset to a computer with USB and using Hub’s Firmware Updates & Recovery flow with the product ID. Other models may have different update procedures, so use the instructions on the relevant product support page. HP support results also describe Hub firmware instructions for Voyager Edge and Voyager Legend, but check those models’ support pages for current steps.
Charging and Voyager 5200 accessories
The 2021 Voyager 5200 Series User Guide estimates about 90 minutes for a full headset charge. It says a fully charged charge case can provide two full headset recharges and an additional 14 hours of talk time; this is the manufacturer’s stated figure, not an independent test.

Use the right instructions for other PLT models
Wired versus Bluetooth operation, phone or computer support, multipoint connections, fit, call controls, firmware paths, and replacement accessories can differ across product families. The available product-family support pages establish that these are separate models, but they do not provide a current head-to-head comparison. Do not assume a Voyager 5200 setting or accessory applies to a Blackwire headset, another Voyager, or an adapter.
