A Canadian-registered Gulfstream G100 air ambulance carrying six people was reported missing after departing Bermuda for Boston. The U.S. Coast Guard was searching off Nantucket after the aircraft lost contact early Saturday, October 3, 2026. Its location, the fate of those aboard and the cause of the reported emergency had not been confirmed in reporting available as of October 4.

What happened to the plane?

The aircraft was operated by Latitude Air Ambulance and was flying from L.F. Wade International Airport in Bermuda to Massachusetts. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that contact was lost early Saturday, October 3. What is known about the people aboard?

Canada’s transport minister said four people aboard were Canadian nationals, according to the Associated Press. The reporting reviewed for this account did not provide confirmed names. Latitude Air Ambulance flight operations director Clarence Togeretz said the flight was carrying out a medical evacuation in Bermuda. He told Sky News: “We always get rather concerned when our crew doesn’t report to us in a timely manner,” while cautioning that a delayed report “doesn’t mean that the worst has happened.”

What was reported before contact was lost?

The Associated Press, citing air traffic control audio, reported that the pilot described electrical problems and declared an emergency. Preliminary FlightRadar24 data cited by AP indicated a descent from about 24,000 feet to about 10,000 feet. Those details are preliminary reported indications; they do not establish why the aircraft lost contact or what followed.

AP also reported that a controller asked, “Roger, you said you’re coming in blind. Is that what you said?” That was the controller’s question, not confirmation that the pilot had lost visibility or that the aircraft’s instruments had failed.

  • Whether anyone aboard survived or was injured.
  • The identities of the people aboard.
  • The cause of the reported emergency or loss of contact.

As of the Associated Press report, the National Transportation Safety Board was gathering information but had not said whether it would investigate. The available reporting does not establish a crash or a cause.
