If that request is missing from a properly captured session, the cause could be an unpublished tag, a trigger that never ran, consent gating, a browser or extension block, or a Content Security Policy rule. If the request is present, the next step is to compare its identifiers with what the reporting tools show. Meta now calls the extension Meta Ads Data Advisor (formerly Meta Pixel Helper), so the same checks apply under either name.
What each signal actually proves
The helper, a tag-preview panel, and a network capture each observe a different stage of the same event. They are not interchangeable, and a disagreement between them usually means you are looking at different stages rather than a broken tool.

The practical rule is to confirm the stage you care about with the tool that observes it. For a question about whether the browser sent a collection request, Network is the authoritative place to look in that browser session.
Capture the browser request correctly
Most false “not requested” results come from a capture that was started too late, filtered too narrowly, or cleared by navigation. Use this sequence:

- Open the page you are testing in a Chrome window. Press F12 or Ctrl+Shift+I (Cmd+Option+I on macOS) to open DevTools, then select the Network tab.
- Before loading the page, turn on Preserve log in the Network toolbar so requests survive a navigation or redirect.
- Clear the list with the clear icon, then reload the live page or perform the action that should fire the event (for example, submitting a form or landing on a confirmation page).
- Type
facebook.com/trinto the filter box. If the list is empty, remove the filter and search the full list for/trandfacebook, since a filter typo can hide a real request. - If the request appears with a blocked status, open the Network filter options and check the blocked-request view. Chrome also exposes blocked response cookies, which helps separate a request that was never attempted from one that was stopped.
Chrome’s DevTools documentation describes filtering out requests from extensions, which is useful when you suspect an extension is adding noise or interfering. The official wording is: “To focus on the code you author, you can filter out irrelevant requests sent by extensions you may have installed in Chrome.” Use that filtering to narrow the view, not to conclude that a specific extension caused the problem.
If the event is sent from your server through the Conversions API, it never passes through the visitor’s browser, so it will not appear in the Network panel at all. Check server logs and the Events Manager instead.

If the request is absent
An empty filtered result means that no matching request was observed in that capture. It does not identify a cause. Work through the branches below in order, changing one condition at a time.

Confirm the tag was published and the trigger should run
Test the published page, not only a preview environment. Confirm that the site or tag manager change containing the Meta pixel or event was published, and that the trigger is supposed to fire on the page and action you tested. A tag that fires in a preview session can be absent from the live container, and a trigger that matches a different URL or click will produce a helper message on one page and no request on another.

Check consent state
If your consent banner controls marketing tags, a rejected choice will suppress the request. A third-party funnel-provider guide notes that a previously rejected consent choice can carry into a later test, and recommends clearing the relevant site data before running a new consent test. Record which choice you made before each test. Whether consent is required, and how it should be configured, depends on your site and the jurisdictions you serve; do not adjust consent logic to make a test pass.
Rule out browser, extension, and CSP blocking
Check whether an ad blocker, privacy extension, or the browser’s own tracking protection stopped the request. Try the same page in a fresh profile or a window with extensions disabled, and compare the results. A Content Security Policy that restricts script or connection sources can also prevent the pixel from making its request, and the blocked-request view in Network may show it. Treat these as candidate causes to test, not as explanations you can assume.
If the request is present
When the request appears, the browser did send it. The remaining question is whether Meta’s tools recognized and reported the event that the request carried.

Read the event and pixel identifiers
Open the request and read its query parameters. Confirm the pixel identifier matches the pixel you intended to use, and confirm the event name matches the event you expected. A request with the wrong identifier points to a configuration error, while a request with the right identifier but a missing event in your reporting tool points to a detection or reporting issue. A vendor help article recommends checking pixel identifiers in this same way.
Allow for reporting delay
Events Manager does not necessarily show an event the moment the browser sends it. One vendor’s setup article describes a processing window of about 30 to 60 minutes. That is that vendor’s estimate, not a guarantee from Meta, so wait for the window you observe in your own account before deciding an event is missing.

Recognize helper and integration mismatches
There are reported cases where a request reached facebook.com/tr, and events appeared in Events Manager, but the helper did not recognize the page event. In one WordPress support thread, the support response attributed the case to how the integration initialized the pixel code. That is useful evidence that detection in the helper and delivery of the request can diverge in a particular setup. It is not an official, general rule, and it does not show that the helper is unreliable across sites. If you see this pattern, compare how your plugin or tag manager loads the pixel with a minimal, manually installed version of the same pixel.
Keep the test reproducible
Record the same details for each attempt so you can see which condition changed when the result changed:

- The exact page URL and route, and whether it was the live site or a preview environment
- The consent choice made before the test, and whether site data was cleared first
- The browser profile, and whether extensions were enabled
- The time of the action, so you can match it to the event in Events Manager
- Whether
facebook.com/trappeared in Network, and if so, its status and identifiers
Comparing a clean profile with your normal browsing profile is often the fastest way to separate a site problem from a browser-side block.
Current tool name and version
The Chrome Web Store listing now names Meta’s extension Meta Ads Data Advisor and says it was formerly Meta Pixel Helper. It describes diagnostics and setup support for Meta Pixel and the Conversions API through supported integrations. When this article was checked, the listing showed version 5.9.1, updated October 5, 2026. Confirm the version in the listing before following version-specific steps, because the listing can change.
Limits of the evidence
No published statistic measures how often a helper message and a missing Network request disagree. A 2025 peer-reviewed paper on Meta Pixel configurations and network requests does not report a prevalence figure for this symptom. Meta’s public materials did not provide a universal explanation for this exact discrepancy in the sources reviewed, so the cause for any given site has to be established by inspecting that site’s capture and configuration.
