Which phone has the better display and design?
Samsung: more screen area and pixels
The S26 Ultra has the larger panel at 6.9 inches and the higher listed resolution at 3120 × 1440. The Pixel’s 6.8-inch LTPO OLED is 1344 × 2992 and supports a 1–120Hz refresh rate. On the specifications provided, Samsung offers more screen area and pixels; that alone does not establish which screen looks better in person.
Samsung: lighter and thinner in the cited measurements
Samsung reports the S26 Ultra at 214g and 7.9mm thick. PhoneArena lists the Pixel at 232g and 8.5mm thick, so the Samsung is 18g lighter and 0.6mm thinner using those cited figures. Dimensions and weight are source-specific, so compare the exact regional model if these measurements are decisive for you.

Pixel: documented three-camera rear system

Samsung: reported long-range zoom advantage
Tom’s Guide favors the S26 Ultra for long-distance zoom and reports a 200MP main sensor. Treat the zoom comparison as that publication’s editorial assessment, not as a matched laboratory result established by the sources here. The full Samsung camera hardware specification is not established in the reviewed Samsung report excerpt, so this comparison does not enumerate its other lenses.

What battery and charging details are established?
Google gives the Pixel a typical 5,200mAh battery and says it can reach up to 70% charge in about 30 minutes when using a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher; the charger is sold separately. Google also specifies Qi2-certified Pixelsnap wireless charging up to 25W. PhoneArena lists the Samsung battery at 5,000mAh, but that figure is not confirmed by the reviewed Samsung report excerpt, so it is weaker evidence for a direct capacity comparison.
Tom’s Guide reports a battery test of roughly 14 hours for the Pixel and says the S26 Ultra lasted longer, but the available passage does not give Samsung’s precise runtime or establish matched testing conditions. It is not enough to claim a controlled head-to-head battery result.

How long will each phone receive software updates?
Google states that the Pixel 10 Pro XL receives seven years of operating-system, security, and Pixel Drop updates. The cited Samsung material identifies Android 16 and One UI 8.5 for the S26 Ultra but does not establish its full future update term. The sources therefore support a specific longevity commitment for Pixel, but not a like-for-like update-duration comparison.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Pixel 10 Pro XL if Google’s published camera specifications, its stated seven-year update commitment, or the lower cited U.S. starting MSRP matter most.
- Choose the Galaxy S26 Ultra if you want the larger, higher-resolution panel, the lighter and thinner body in the cited measurements, Samsung’s Privacy Display feature, or the long-distance zoom advantage reported by Tom’s Guide.
- Compare the exact configuration before buying: the listed Samsung RAM changes with storage tier, and the cited MSRP figures are not live offers.
Samsung describes Privacy Display as a new Ultra feature in its 2026 first-quarter interim report. Neither the source set nor these specifications establish a universal winner or a real-world performance advantage.
