The Piranha Glow 2000W YLC6243-H is a discontinued bagless barrel vacuum. CHOICE lists a 1.5L measured dust collector, 7.2m reach and 5.8kg weight, but its detailed cleaning scores are members-only on the public page. Consumer reviews are mixed and anecdotal, so they do not establish how well this model performs overall.
What is the Piranha Glow 2000W YLC6243-H?
CHOICE identifies the YLC6243-H as a bagless, bin-style barrel vacuum and marks it discontinued. Its country of origin is listed as China. That status means the model should be treated as an older product rather than a currently supported, readily available new vacuum; it does not establish whether any particular retailer or private seller still has a unit.

The “2000W” in the product name is its stated power. CHOICE separately records 1450W as measured power, so the two figures describe different things and should not be treated as interchangeable. CHOICE’s product page also lists a $69 price, but that is a page listing, not a verified current retailer offer.

An archived Big W listing reproduced by OzBargain in 2021 described a 2.5L dust container, washable filter, metal-base floor head, five-metre power cord, automatic cord rewind and thermal cut-off switch. These are historical retailer listing claims, not equivalent to CHOICE’s measured figures: the 2.5L advertised container volume differs from the 1.5L measured dust-collector volume, and a five-metre cord is not the same measure as 7.2m reach. The sources do not establish whether they describe the same unit or configuration. The archived OzBargain post also reproduced a $34.50 sale price, a prior $70 price and a 12-month warranty claim; all are historical, not current pricing or confirmed coverage.

What tools and accessories are listed?
CHOICE lists a telescopic wand, hose, carpet/hard-floor tool, tool holder, crevice tool, upholstery tool and dusting brush. The public listing does not verify current availability of replacement accessories or compatibility of parts offered separately.
How well does it clean?
CHOICE identifies test dimensions including carpet cleaning, pet-hair removal, noise and ease of use, but the detailed scores are members-only on its public page. The public information therefore does not support a verdict that the Glow performs well or poorly on those measures.

Does it have good suction?
ProductReview.com.au displays eight reviews and a 3.7 rating (accessed 2026). Some reviewers praise suction and value; others report poor suction. These conflicting, self-reported accounts are not controlled tests and cannot determine typical suction performance. Read the consumer-review page with that limitation in mind.
Is it good on carpet?
One user report describes difficulty on carpet, while the public CHOICE page does not reveal its carpet-cleaning score. That leaves carpet performance unresolved; the available material is not enough to recommend it for carpet or rule it out.

How large is the bin?
CHOICE records a measured dust-collector volume of 1.5L. The archived Big W listing advertised a 2.5L container, a separate historical claim. Because the figures differ and refer to different source descriptions, do not assume that the larger number is the capacity of the configuration CHOICE measured.

Beyond mixed comments on suction, ProductReview.com.au includes reports of overheating and eventual failure. One reviewer said a unit lasted more than two years on tiled floors; another reported that theirs smoked and failed on 29 May 2025. These individual accounts are useful as things to investigate on a used unit, but eight displayed reviews do not provide representative reliability data. CHOICE’s public page does not show its reliability results.

Is the YLC6243-H still available, and what should used buyers check?
CHOICE marks the model discontinued. The historical Big W listing and its prices do not prove that a new unit is currently sold, and no current stock or live price is established here. If considering a used vacuum, assess the actual unit and confirm the seller’s terms rather than relying on the old warranty claim.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Run it long enough to check for weakening suction, unusual heat, smoke or other signs of failure; stop using it if it smokes or behaves unsafely.
- Try the floor head on the floor types you intend to clean, especially carpet if that matters to you.
- Check that the bin, hose, wand, floor head and listed small tools are present and usable.
- Ask for model-specific confirmation before buying a filter, floor head or other replacement part. The sources do not establish which filter fits the YLC6243-H or verify replacement-part compatibility.
- Confirm the unit’s condition, return arrangement and any warranty directly with the seller; CHOICE records no warranty, while the 12-month claim comes only from an archived 2021 retailer listing.
For a comparison with another vacuum, useful evidence would include tested results on your floor types, bin capacity, reach, weight, included tools, filter maintenance and replacement availability, noise, warranty, reliability evidence, and current availability and condition. The public CHOICE page does not expose enough performance results to complete that comparison for this model.
