For photography studio website inspiration, Colorlib’s September 25, 2026 collection offers 25 examples spanning weddings, commercial work, fine art, travel, food, and portraiture. Its strongest practical lesson is to make the work easy to assess, then make the next step—such as an inquiry, booking, or print purchase—easy to find. The platform labels and design observations below are Colorlib’s editorial descriptions, not a live audit or a standardized usability review.
What makes a photography website useful to study?
A portfolio site has to do more than display attractive images. A prospective client should be able to recognize the kind of work you do, browse relevant projects, and understand how to contact or book you. If prints or other products are part of the business, the site may also need a clear shopping path.

Colorlib’s collection ranges from image-led, full-screen portfolios to category grids, wedding stories, video, testimonials, and ecommerce. Treat each example as a prompt to consider how presentation and business purpose fit together—not as proof that one layout or platform performs best.

Patterns to borrow for your own photography site
Organize the portfolio around the client’s question
Visitors looking for a wedding photographer need to see wedding work; commercial clients need a fast route to relevant campaigns or product shoots. Category grids, project pages, split portfolios, and complete wedding stories all help make the selection meaningful. Choose labels that match the services you want to book, rather than making visitors infer your specialty from a mixed gallery.
Let the images lead without hiding navigation
Full-width images, dark or light backgrounds, generous negative space, and restrained typography can give photography room to speak. The examples also show that visual identity need not be neutral: color, borders, animation, and video can support a recognizable style. Whatever the treatment, keep navigation and contact information legible and easy to locate.

Make the next step obvious
For a service business, a visible inquiry or booking route matters alongside the portfolio. Service details, pricing information where appropriate, testimonials, and client galleries can answer practical questions and help a visitor decide what to do next. The examples illustrate these elements, but Colorlib does not report conversion testing or establish that any one feature increases bookings.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteUse commerce when it serves the business
Print shops and product collections appear in several examples; Pat Kay’s listing also describes presets, courses, and guides. These features make sense when sales are part of the photographer’s offer. A photographer focused on commissioned work may instead benefit from a simpler portfolio and inquiry path.

How to choose a platform from these examples
Colorlib assigns examples to Squarespace, Wix, Shopify, Webflow, and WordPress, and describes Pixpa for Amit Sharma despite listing its platform as “Other.” These examples show a range of platform categories, but they do not compare current plans, prices, features, or performance. They cannot establish a platform winner.

- Portfolio and inquiry: prioritize flexible project organization, attractive image presentation, and a clear contact route.
- Client delivery: consider whether client galleries fit your workflow and how you will share finished work.
- Print or product sales: look for the store and product-presentation functions your catalog needs; ecommerce is not a requirement for every photographer.
- Content beyond the portfolio: if video, articles, courses, or guides are central to your business, include them in your requirements.
Only after setting those priorities should you compare current platform capabilities and terms. The platform labels in Colorlib’s September 2026 article are not a substitute for checking what each service offers now.

How to use the examples without copying them
- Choose the work you want to sell. Name your specialties and the kinds of clients you want to attract.
- Plan the portfolio structure. Decide which categories, projects, or complete stories a visitor should be able to browse.
- Set the primary action. Pick the main next step—such as asking about availability, booking, or shopping—and make it easy to find.
- Match visual choices to the work. Select a gallery style, background, typography, and use of video that support your images rather than compete with them.
- Choose tools to fit those requirements. Compare current platform features only after deciding what the site needs to accomplish.
That sequence turns inspiration into a site plan: make the specialty clear, show enough relevant work to evaluate it, and give visitors a fitting next step.
