The similarly named Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE does not use the 780G; it uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G.

That is an unusually short list. Device databases may separate storage configurations, model numbers or regional names, but those entries do not necessarily represent different phone designs. This wording means “only widely confirmed global model,” not an absolute claim about unreleased prototypes or obscure engineering samples. For someone shopping today, the Snapdragon 780G market is effectively the Mi 11 Lite 5G family.
Why the list is so short
Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 780G in March 2021 as a 5 nm upper-midrange platform. The chip arrived during a transition to newer Snapdragon naming and was used by very few manufacturers before later 7-series platforms became more common. Many online lists inflate the number of 780G phones by grouping together the Snapdragon 778G, 778G+, 782G and other related 7-series processors. Those are alternatives, not Snapdragon 780G models.

Qualcomm’s catalog currently labels the platform “active,” but that describes its product catalog status; it does not mean new 780G phones are still being manufactured or widely sold.

The “NE” name is the most common source of mistaken 780G listings.

The two phones can look nearly identical and have similar names, but they contain different Qualcomm platforms. A listing that says only “Mi 11 Lite 5G” may omit “NE,” so verify the exact model number and chipset before paying.

The Mi 11 Youth Edition 5G is commonly described as the Chinese-market counterpart of the Mi 11 Lite 5G. Treat it as a regional version of the same family unless the seller provides evidence of a different design. Chinese and global units can differ in:
- LTE and 5G bands
- Dual-SIM configuration
- NFC availability
- Firmware and bootloader state
- Google Mobile Services
- Warranty and repair coverage
A 5G logo alone does not guarantee compatibility with your carrier. Match the exact model number to your network’s bands and policies.

How powerful is Snapdragon 780G in 2026?
The 780G was a high-end 7-series chip in 2021. Its 5 nm process and Kryo 670 CPU were notable at launch, and the Mi 11 Lite 5G served as an early real-world demonstration in AnandTech’s contemporary performance report.
Today it remains suitable for everyday Android use, streaming, photography, 5G connectivity and many games. However, it is an older platform. Newer midrange chips may deliver better sustained performance, efficiency, modem features and software-support prospects. A used phone’s battery and thermal condition can matter more than the original benchmark position.
Is a Snapdragon 780G phone worth buying in 2026?
It can make sense when
- The Mi 11 Lite 5G is substantially cheaper than newer, supported midrange phones.
- You want a particularly light phone with an AMOLED display.
- The battery is healthy or replacement cost is acceptable.
- The seller discloses the exact model, region and return terms.
- Your carrier supports the imported or regional model.

Used-phone buying checklist

The Snapdragon 780G phone list is short because the platform had a limited rollout, not because every similarly named Snapdragon 7-series phone belongs on it. The original Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G is the key confirmed model, with the Mi 11 Youth Edition 5G representing a closely related China-market version. In 2026, buy one only after checking condition, support, bands and price against newer alternatives—not simply because the chipset is rare.
