The sheet gives both an 800 g food capacity and a 28 oz basket capacity, but does not explain their measurement basis or promise a particular serving size. Do not treat either figure as a direct capacity comparison with another fryer unless the other model uses a comparable measure. Controls and cooking functions
Philips describes manually adjustable time and temperature controls, a maximum temperature of 390°F, a timer up to 30 minutes, automatic shut-off, and a ready sound indicator. Its product information says the appliance uses Rapid Air hot-air circulation around a metal mesh basket; the specification sheet describes a starfish-shaped base intended to facilitate air circulation. Philips lists frying, grilling, baking, and roasting among the cooking functions.

These are manufacturer-described features, not measured results. The available evidence does not establish temperature accuracy, cooking speed, crispness, batch-to-batch consistency, noise, energy use, or durability. In particular, the feature list alone cannot tell you whether the fryer will cook a particular food evenly or how much food it can handle well in one batch.
Cleaning, support, and accessories
Philips lists the removable pan and basket components as dishwasher-safe. For a second-hand appliance, check the manual for the exact unit and follow its cleaning guidance; also inspect the cooking surfaces and basket coating for damage. Philips lists the Airfryer Accessory Baking Kit L, model HD9925/01, on the HD9216/81 support page. The listing describes a baking accessory with seven silicone muffin cups. Confirm compatibility and current availability with Philips before buying. A compatible replacement pan or basket part number is not established here, so do not assume a generic part will fit.
What to check before buying a used or remaining-stock unit
- Verify the model. Check the appliance label for HD9216/81; do not rely on a listing title or a similar-looking product photo.
- Check electrical compatibility. Philips lists the model at 220 V. Confirm the unit’s label, local supply, and plug before use, especially for an import.
- Inspect the included parts. Confirm that the basket and pan are present, move and seat correctly, and have no visible damage. Ask about wear to the cooking surfaces and basket coating.
- Confirm operation and condition. If possible, ask the seller to demonstrate the controls, timer, heating, and ready signal. This is a practical inspection, not a substitute for independent performance testing.
- Clarify the sale terms. Since current warranty coverage, stock, and seller condition are not established by Philips’ discontinued status, verify those details directly with the seller before paying.
Verdict
The HD9216/81’s published specifications make its basic setup clear: it is a manual-control, 220 V air fryer with an 800 g stated food capacity and a 30-minute maximum timer. But because Philips lists it as discontinued and the available evidence does not measure cooking performance or establish replacement-basket availability, it is a sensible consideration only when the exact unit’s condition, electrical compatibility, parts, and sale terms check out. Buyers who need assured availability or independently verified cooking results should not infer either from Philips’ feature descriptions.
