Phantom Blade Zero requires a 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, DirectX 12, 16 GB of memory and an SSD. S-GAME’s minimum examples—an Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 paired with a GeForce GTX 1660 6GB or Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB—target 1080p at 30 frames per second with upscaling enabled. The recommended tier raises that to a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X and a GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB for a stated 1440p/60 FPS target, also using upscaling.
Those figures are developer targets, not independent launch benchmarks or guarantees. S-GAME has also published much higher GPU recommendations for ray tracing and path tracing. Because the game had not released when the requirements were checked on October 13, 2026, there are no measured frame-time results or verified upscaling gains to use as a substitute.

What the minimum and recommended tiers actually mean
Minimum: a 1080p/30-FPS starting point
The minimum profile is intended for 1080p output at 30 FPS when an upscaler is active. It is not a promise of 30 FPS at native 1920×1080 rendering, nor does it identify whether the target uses a low, medium or custom graphics preset. A GTX 1660 with 6GB of VRAM and an RX 5500 XT with 8GB are examples of the class S-GAME expects, not a claim that every card with a similar name will perform identically.
The listed CPUs are older six-core-era parts, but the Core i7-8700K has six cores and 12 threads while the Ryzen 5 3600 has six cores and 12 threads as well. A substantially older four-core processor can therefore be a risk even if its graphics card meets the minimum. The official requirement does not provide a minimum CPU frame-time target, so there is no published basis for predicting how a specific low-end processor will behave in busy combat scenes.
Recommended: a 1440p/60-FPS target with reconstruction
S-GAME’s recommended tier pairs a Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X with an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT. The stated outcome is 1440p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. That combination is the sensible reference point for a player who wants a higher-refresh 1440p display without turning on the separate ray-tracing or path-tracing profiles.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe two GPU examples do not have identical memory: the RTX 3060 Ti is listed with 8GB and the RX 6700 XT with 12GB. More VRAM can help avoid texture-streaming or stutter problems in a particular game, but S-GAME has not published Phantom Blade Zero’s measured VRAM use. Treat the capacity difference as a specification to consider, not proof that one card will produce a particular frame rate.

Can my PC run Phantom Blade Zero?
Compare your system with the requirements in this order. The process separates hard prerequisites from performance targets, so a machine that boots the game is not automatically a 60-FPS machine.
- Check Windows architecture. In Settings, open System > About and confirm that Windows 10 or Windows 11 is installed as a 64-bit edition. A 32-bit installation does not meet the published requirement.
- Confirm DirectX 12 support. Press
Win+R, enterdxdiag, and check the System tab. The game requires DirectX 12; the diagnostic tool’s displayed version is useful, but your GPU driver must also expose the features the game requests. - Identify the processor. Compare the exact model, not just the family name, with the Core i7-8700K/Ryzen 5 3600 minimum or Core i5-10600K/Ryzen 5 5600X recommended examples. Mobile chips, power-limited small-form-factor systems and older generations can perform differently from desktop parts with similar branding.
- Identify the graphics card and VRAM. In Settings > System > Display > Advanced display, or in your driver control panel, record the exact GPU and dedicated memory. A card below the GTX 1660/RX 5500 XT class is below S-GAME’s stated minimum example; the RTX 3060 Ti/RX 6700 XT class is the published 1440p reference.
- Verify system memory. Open Settings > System > About. The requirement is 16 GB. Memory shared with an integrated GPU and background applications can reduce what remains available to the game.
- Check the drive type. The announcement requires an SSD but does not state an installation size. In Windows, open Settings > System > Storage > Advanced storage settings > Disks & volumes to identify the drive, and leave additional free space for patches and shader caches.
If every component only matches the minimum examples, use the 1080p/30-FPS target as your planning baseline. If the CPU and GPU are in the recommended classes, plan around 1440p/60 with upscaling, while leaving room for the possibility that a launch patch or demanding scene requires a lower setting.
How reliable are the published FPS figures?
The numbers are targets stated by S-GAME, not results from an independent test. The requirements announcement does not describe its test build, graphics preset, scene, driver version, frame-time method or upscaler quality mode. It also does not say whether the target is an average, a sustained floor or a representative snapshot.
For that reason, “1080p/30” should be read as the developer’s intended performance level for the minimum profile, and “1440p/60” as its intended level for the recommended profile. Neither figure proves that a listed GPU will hold that rate in every area, during every effect-heavy fight or after future patches. No independent launch-build benchmark, measured frame-time chart or quantified upscaling benefit was available when the requirements were checked.

Why upscaling matters
Both standard targets explicitly rely on upscaling. The game can render internally below the display resolution and reconstruct a higher-resolution output, reducing the shading workload compared with native rendering. The visual result depends on the selected quality mode, motion vectors, temporal stability and the game’s own implementation. Since S-GAME has not specified the exact mode used for its targets, do not compare these figures directly with a native-resolution benchmark from another game.
If you disable upscaling at the same output resolution, performance may fall. Conversely, selecting a more aggressive performance mode may raise frame rate while reducing fine detail. The official material supplies no percentage gain, so any numerical improvement quoted elsewhere should be treated as a separate test rather than an implication of these requirements.
Ray tracing and path tracing: much higher GPU demands
Ray tracing target
S-GAME lists a GeForce RTX 5060 8GB for 1080p at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled when ray tracing is used. The studio does not publish a CPU for this profile, so it cannot be converted into a complete replacement system requirement. It is best understood as a graphics-card recommendation for a feature-specific target.
Path tracing target
Path tracing is more computationally intensive than the standard rasterized presentation and is assigned a GeForce RTX 5080 16GB target for 2160p (4K) at 60 FPS with upscaling enabled. Again, no CPU, preset, test scene or measured result is supplied. A 4K/60 target at this level should not be used to infer that the same card will deliver 4K/60 with every other setting maximized or with upscaling disabled.

The large jump from an RTX 5060 at 1080p to an RTX 5080 at 2160p reflects the extra workload of both higher output resolution and path-traced lighting. If advanced lighting is not important to you, the standard recommended tier is the relevant comparison; buying specifically for path tracing is a different performance objective.
Announced PC graphics features
NVIDIA announced day-one DLSS 4 support with Multi Frame Generation, along with PC-exclusive ray-traced reflections, shadows and caustics. These are announced features, not measured performance results. Multi Frame Generation can create additional displayed frames from rendered frames, but the announcement does not quantify its benefit in Phantom Blade Zero or establish latency behavior in this game.
In its June 2, 2026 delay letter, S-GAME said it had spent additional effort preserving the game’s visual impact without relying on ray tracing. The studio’s stated aim was to keep the core look, atmosphere and intensity strong for more players; that statement is not an independent image-quality or performance test.
Choosing an upgrade based on your target
| Your goal | Use as the reference | What the evidence does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p around 30 FPS | Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600; GTX 1660 6GB or RX 5500 XT 8GB; 16 GB RAM; SSD | Native-resolution performance, exact preset, minimum frame rate or VRAM usage |
| 1440p around 60 FPS | Core i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X; RTX 3060 Ti 8GB or RX 6700 XT 12GB; 16 GB RAM; SSD | Whether 60 FPS is sustained in every scene or which upscaler mode is used |
| 1080p around 60 FPS with ray tracing | RTX 5060 8GB and upscaling | A corresponding CPU, preset, VRAM requirement or independent benchmark |
| 4K around 60 FPS with path tracing | RTX 5080 16GB and upscaling | A corresponding CPU, preset, measured frame rate or native-4K result |
Upgrade only the part that is actually below your chosen target. A computer with a recommended-class GPU but a processor below the minimum can be CPU-limited; replacing the graphics card will not solve that bottleneck. Likewise, adding memory above 16 GB may help a multitasking system, but S-GAME has not stated that more than 16 GB is required for the game itself. An SSD is mandatory according to the published requirements, yet no capacity or model is specified, so check your available space before purchasing hardware.

Release date and what to check before launch
S-GAME’s current website and its June 2 developer letter place the release on October 29, 2026, after a move from September 9. The Steam product listing displayed October 28, 2026 when checked on October 13. That one-day difference can reflect storefront or regional unlock timing; use October 29 as the developer’s stated date and verify the store page near release.
Because the game was still unreleased at the time of the requirements check, the practical performance picture can change with launch drivers, patches and final settings. Before buying or upgrading, confirm the final store requirements, install the latest GPU driver, enable Windows updates, and look for a launch graphics menu that identifies the available upscaler and frame-generation options. After release, judge performance with an on-screen frame-time overlay rather than relying solely on an average FPS counter.
Bottom line for PC buyers
A 16 GB, SSD-equipped Windows 10/11 64-bit PC with DirectX 12 is the baseline platform. For 1080p at the developer’s stated 30-FPS target, start at the GTX 1660/RX 5500 XT and Core i7-8700K/Ryzen 5 3600 level. For 1440p at the stated 60-FPS target, use the RTX 3060 Ti/RX 6700 XT and Core i5-10600K/Ryzen 5 5600X level. Both targets assume upscaling. Ray tracing and especially path tracing are separate, substantially more demanding goals, and their published figures remain unverified until independent launch testing is available.
