Pets Survivors is a single-player horde-survival roguelike for Windows on Steam. Its central loop is familiar to the genre: fight successive enemy waves, gain experience, then choose upgrades for weapons, special abilities, or pets. The store listing also promotes unlockable weapons and pets plus permanent upgrades, but those are publisher claims rather than features independently tested here.
How a run works
Vergiu describes Pets Survivors as a survival roguelike inspired by the horde-survival genre. Enemies provide experience; when the player levels up, they choose between upgrades tied to weapons, special abilities, or pets. That gives the game its main strategic question: which upgrades combine into a useful build while the enemy waves continue to grow?

The listing pitches different builds and playstyles, but does not explain the upgrade pool, balance, or how much control players have over a build. The premise supports experimentation, though the depth and variety of those choices cannot be confirmed from the store description alone.

The Steam page advertises multiple pets and weapons to choose from and unlock, alongside permanent upgrades. These systems suggest progression that extends beyond a single run: players can pursue new options and improve their overall setup. The listing does not specify the full unlock roster, the requirements for each unlock, or how permanent upgrades affect difficulty, so those details should not be assumed.

- From The People Who Brought You Exploding Kittens: The Kickstarter famous, viral card game that started it all!
One Steam Community reviewer, Knufle, said that experimenting with pet and weapon combinations made matches feel unique and fun. That is an individual player’s impression, not a guarantee that every combination changes a run substantially.
Does it suit short sessions or longer survival runs?
Steam reviewers mention both short rounds and an endless mode. Nosteru described “10min rounds” and “endless mode,” but those remarks are user testimony, not an official mode breakdown or evidence that typical runs take exactly ten minutes. The store description does not detail mode rules, so players looking for specific run lengths or a particular endless-mode structure should check the current listing and in-game information.

- All the Island Essentials: Includes 10 Grey Rocks, 3 Purple Rocks, 1 Cloth Bag, 15 Challenge Cards, 12 Character Cards, and 1 Immunity Necklace for a true island feel.
For play style, the broad appeal is straightforward: the wave-survival format favors quick decisions during a run, while unlocks and persistent upgrades give players reasons to return. Whether that loop stays engaging depends on how much variety the actual upgrade combinations and unlocks provide.
Controls and PC requirements
Steam marks the game with the Controller tag. That indicates possible gamepad support, but does not prove that a controller is required or establish compatibility with every controller model. The store listing does not identify a recommended controller.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What can be concluded from the available evidence?
The basic proposition is clear: Pets Survivors combines escalating enemy waves with run-by-run upgrade choices and longer-term unlocks. Steam reviewers describe it as a “survivor-like” or “Bullet Heaven,” and one calls it polished, but those are personal opinions rather than independent assessments. No hands-on testing or independent performance data is available here, so claims about actual balance, polish, replay value, and how well it runs should be treated as unverified.
