Storefront listings point to a late-December 2026 release window: the UK App Store says “Expected 31 Dec 2026,” while a regional Epic Games Store listing says “Disponible 30/12/26.” Those entries establish a window, not a single global day.
The game is planned as a free-to-play life simulation with optional in-app purchases. Its Final Beta began on September 20, 2026, but access is limited to selected applicants and qualifying previous testers. Beta progress is temporary: the test is data-wiped when its servers close.

When does Petit Planet come out?
The most defensible release answer is late December 2026, with the exact day still unresolved in the available official storefront information.
| Listing | Displayed timing | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| UK App Store | Expected 31 Dec 2026 | A regional expected-date entry, not confirmation of a worldwide launch at midnight on that date. |
| Epic Games Store regional listing | Disponible 30/12/26 | A regional availability signal showing December 30, 2026. |
Because those listings show different dates, neither should be treated as the authoritative global release day. HoYoverse may stagger availability by territory, update a storefront independently, or change the date before launch. Check the store page for your country and an official HoYoverse announcement when the window approaches.

Before the public release, HoYoverse opened the Final Beta Test on September 20, 2026. The beta notice describes it as a limited-access, data-wipe test and says its end date would be announced later. A beta invitation is therefore not the same thing as public launch access.
Can you play Petit Planet now?
During the Final Beta, you can play only if HoYoverse selected your account or you qualified through one of its stated routes. The official notice identifies three routes:
- Completing the beta sign-up survey and being selected.
- Winning access through an official community event.
- Qualifying through prior participation in the Coziness Test or Stardrift Test.
Selected Planet Tenders receive a test invitation and download guide by email before the test begins. Finding a download file or an account for sale does not create legitimate access. The beta rules say access is for personal use and prohibit transferring, sharing, lending, or selling it.
If you were not selected, the practical alternative is to wait for the public storefront release. The late-December listings indicate the intended window, but they do not turn the beta into an open test or guarantee that every region will unlock on the same day.
Is Petit Planet free?
Yes. Store listings describe Petit Planet as a free download or a free base game with in-app purchases. That is a free-to-play model: downloading and starting the game should not require buying a boxed copy, while optional purchases may be offered after launch.

The ESRB record flags “In-Game Purchases (Includes Random Items)”. This indicates that the published rating record recognizes purchases that can involve random items; it does not provide a price list, probability table, spending limit, or confirmation of which items will be sold in every region.
The Final Beta had a different economy from the planned release. HoYoverse’s beta notice explicitly says there were no in-game purchases, either in the test client or through the official website. Do not use the absence of a beta shop to assume the launch version will have no optional purchases.

No published subscription fee, required monthly payment, launch bundle, or item-price schedule is established in the available listings. Treat any third-party “pre-order price” or beta-access charge with caution unless it appears in an official storefront or HoYoverse announcement.
Which platforms support Petit Planet?
The Final Beta supports Windows PC, iOS, and Android. Emulators are not supported. A separate ESRB record lists Windows PC and Nintendo Switch 2 as platforms for its rating record, but the beta notice does not promise a Switch version or give a Switch release date. Until HoYoverse publishes a newer platform announcement, consider Switch availability unconfirmed rather than a launch guarantee.
| Platform | Final Beta status | Recommended requirements or conditions |
|---|---|---|
| Windows PC | Supported | Windows 10 or later; Intel Core i5 11th Gen, AMD Ryzen 5 5000 series, or better; GeForce RTX 2060, Radeon RX 5600 XT, or better; 16 GB RAM; 18 GB available storage. |
| iPhone | Supported | iOS 14 or later; iPhone XS or later, excluding iPhone XR; at least 4 GB RAM; 10 GB available storage. |
| iPad | Supported | Equivalent-or-better hardware to the recommended iOS specification; 10 GB available storage is the stated mobile-iOS allowance. |
| Android phone or tablet | Supported | Android 9 or later; Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1000, Kirin 990, or better; 6 GB RAM; 12 GB available storage. |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Not confirmed for the Final Beta | Listed by the ESRB record, but no beta support, launch date, or performance requirement is established by the HoYoverse beta notice. |
“Recommended” is important here. The figures above are HoYoverse’s beta recommendations, not a promise that every device below them will fail or that every device meeting them will deliver identical performance. Keep additional free space for operating-system updates, downloaded patches, and temporary installation files.

How to get into the Final Beta
- Use an official sign-up route. Complete the HoYoverse beta survey when registration is open, enter through an official community event, or rely on qualifying participation in the Coziness or Stardrift tests.
- Watch the email address tied to your HoYoverse Account. Selected players receive the invitation and download guide by email. Check spam and promotional folders, but do not treat an unsolicited attachment or login page as genuine without verifying the sender.
- Install only from the supplied official route. The beta is available for Windows PC, iOS, and Android. Do not substitute an emulator; emulators are expressly unsupported.
- Sign in with the invited HoYoverse Account. Beta eligibility is account-based. Using another account can leave you without access even if the client is installed correctly.
- Keep a stable internet connection. The Final Beta requires an internet connection at all times, not merely for the initial download.
There is no legitimate way to buy, borrow, lend, or transfer someone else’s beta entitlement. The official rules prohibit those actions and state that access is for personal use.

How PC and mobile accounts work together
The same HoYoverse Account can carry your game data between PC and mobile during the test. This lets you move between a Windows computer and a supported iPhone, iPad, or Android device without creating separate test identities.
There is a strict device-binding limitation: each account may be used on up to one PC and one mobile device. Access binds to the first devices used. Changing devices on the same platform may result in suspension, so do not repeatedly sign in on several computers or phones while troubleshooting.
A safe setup order
- Choose the one PC and one mobile device you intend to use for the test.
- Install the client on those devices before signing in where possible.
- Use the invited HoYoverse Account on the first PC and first mobile device.
- Do not lend the account or test a second PC or second phone unless HoYoverse explicitly changes the rule.
Will beta progress carry over to launch?
Assume that it will not. The Final Beta is explicitly a data-wipe test. When the test ends, its servers close and test account information and game data are deleted unless HoYoverse separately authorizes an exception.
That means characters, homes, decorations, currency, quests, and other test progress should be treated as temporary. The same HoYoverse Account can synchronize data between PC and mobile while the beta is running, but that cross-platform convenience does not make beta progress permanent or guarantee transfer to the public version.

No launch carryover policy is established in the beta notice. If HoYoverse later announces a reward for testers or a limited account entitlement, follow that announcement’s conditions rather than assuming all saved progress survives.
Beta access versus public launch
| Question | Final Beta | Public release window |
|---|---|---|
| Timing | Started September 20, 2026; end date to be announced. | Storefront signals point to late December 2026; exact worldwide day unresolved. |
| Eligibility | Selected survey applicants, event winners, or qualifying prior testers; invitation required. | Expected to be obtained through the relevant platform storefront when available, subject to regional rollout. |
| Price model | No in-game or website purchases. | Free download/base game with optional in-app purchases listed by stores. |
| Platforms identified | Windows PC, iOS, Android; emulators unsupported. | Those platforms are the established baseline. Switch 2 appears in an ESRB record but is not confirmed by the beta notice. |
| Progress | Temporary and deleted after the test unless an exception is announced. | Launch persistence should be governed by the final release policy; no beta carryover is promised. |
Storage, hardware, and connection checklist
Before downloading, check the complete requirement rather than only the operating-system version:
- PC: Windows 10 or newer, a 11th-generation Intel i5 or Ryzen 5 5000-series processor (or better), RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT graphics (or better), 16 GB RAM, and 18 GB free storage.
- iPhone or iPad: iOS 14 or newer, an iPhone XS or newer while excluding iPhone XR, at least 4 GB RAM, and 10 GB free storage; iPads need equivalent-or-better hardware.
- Android: Android 9 or newer, Snapdragon 855, Dimensity 1000, or Kirin 990 (or better), 6 GB RAM, and 12 GB free storage.
- All beta platforms: continuous internet access; no emulator support.
Storage figures describe the recommended free space for the beta. Leave headroom for updates and avoid installing while the device is nearly full, since an installer may need temporary working space in addition to the final game size.
Troubleshooting common access problems
No invitation email
Only selected applicants and qualifying participants receive invitations. Check the address associated with the correct HoYoverse Account, search spam folders, and verify that a message is genuinely from an official channel. Installing the client without an invitation will not bypass selection.
The game will not install
Confirm the operating-system version, free storage, and hardware class against the platform table. On mobile, remove enough additional space for temporary files and updates. On PC, verify that the graphics card and processor meet the listed recommendations rather than relying on RAM alone.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
You changed phones or computers
The test binds access to the first devices used and allows up to one PC and one mobile device per account. Repeatedly changing devices on the same platform can result in suspension. Contact official support before attempting another device if the original is unavailable.
The client works on an emulator but access fails
Emulators are not supported for the Final Beta. Use a qualifying Windows PC, iPhone/iPad, or Android device instead.
Your progress disappeared
Progress can synchronize between your permitted PC and mobile devices during the test, but the beta is data-wiped when it ends. Deletion at test close is expected behavior, not evidence that your account was incorrectly linked.

What to watch for before launch
Three details still need an explicit final announcement: the exact worldwide release day, the final platform list (especially whether and when Switch 2 is supported), and the launch purchase catalog. The current evidence supports a late-December 2026 free-to-play release window and optional purchases, but it does not establish a subscription, a fixed item price, or a universal date.
For the safest download, use the official HoYoverse destination or the platform storefront for your region. Avoid paid beta invitations, account transfers, unofficial APKs, and “guaranteed access” listings. Those conflict with the Final Beta’s personal-use rules and can expose your account or device to unnecessary risk.
