Petit Planet is still in testing, not fully released. The current status guide lists a free-to-play launch for Winter 2026 on PC, iOS, and Android. If you have access to the invite-only Final Beta, expect a data wipe when testing ends and no purchases during the test. For everyone else, the most useful preparation is learning the progression loop: follow the story, feed Luca to the Luca Arbor, gather with every tool, cook to preserve Strength, sail the Starsea, and build Neighbor bonds.
This guide explains what to do in your first hours, how each Arbor level changes your planet, which activities belong in a daily routine, how the six currencies work, and how to avoid wasting time on low-value tasks.

Can you play Petit Planet now?
Not as a full public release. A download and status guide updated on 23 September 2026 says Petit Planet is scheduled for Winter 2026 on PC, iOS, and Android, with pre-registration listed through the App Store, Google Play, Epic Games Store, and HoYoPlay. The exact launch day is not specified.

The Final Beta began on 20 September 2026. It is invite-only, wipes progress when the test ends, and has no purchases. Progress, item names, prices, drop sources, and other systems recorded during testing can therefore change before launch.

These figures and the progression details below come from a community guide that recorded the 0.95 Final Beta build. Treat them as a working map rather than a guarantee of the launch version.
What to do in your first hours

Follow the main story
Story quests introduce Yunguo, Elsasani, Glenn, and Mobai, teach the farming system, and unlock Starsea Voyage. Skipping ahead leaves key systems unavailable, so story progress is the fastest way to open the game’s activity loop.

Feed Luca to the Luca Arbor
The Luca Arbor is the central progression gate. Planet activity produces Luca, which you feed to the Arbor for permanent unlocks. The first level opens the Beach Area, Mysterious Archiboos, and farming. Later levels add plots, weather, mountains, and Neighbor capacity.

Gather with every tool
Rotate through farming, fishing, bug catching, beachcombing, digging, and mining. Fishing Rod, Insect Net, Shellfish Tongs, Shovel, and Mattock each open a different resource category, so carrying only one tool limits both your materials and your discovery progress.

Cook before long gathering sessions
Chopping, mining, and digging consume Strength. Raw apples restore a small amount, while cooked dishes restore more. Keep a food reserve before a trip instead of returning home when your Strength bar is nearly empty.

Unlock Starsea Voyage and sail
Speak with Elsasani after the story makes the voyage available. You can take up to two Neighbors, then use Star Anchors to land on Islets. Islets combine resources, puzzles, chests, and encounters that can introduce new Neighbors.
Luca Arbor progression explained
Arbor levels are the clearest measure of early progress because they expand the physical planet and unlock systems that affect every other activity. The following milestones are documented for the tested build.

Levels 2 through 9 each add five plots, for 40 additional plots across those upgrades. Levels 6 through 9 each add a Neighbor slot. The Arbor uses more than one Luca type: ordinary Luca comes from activity on the planet, while Neighbor’s Luca is earned by helping Neighbors and is required for some upgrades. Check the upgrade requirement before spending either resource.
Build a daily routine around four goals
There is no single activity that maximizes every progression track. A useful routine rotates between Arbor growth, Neighbor bonds, collection score, and exploration.

1. Harvest, replant, and improve crop quality
Harvest ready crops at the start of a session, then replant immediately so the next growth cycle runs while you explore. Higher harvest grades support better recipes, making farming contribute both to food and to Strength management. Keep a mixture of crops rather than planting only one type; variety gives you more options when a recipe or Neighbor request calls for a specific ingredient.
2. Check time and weather before hunting
Creature availability is conditional. The guide records 19 fish that bite only at night and also notes creatures that depend on rain. Look at the in-game clock and weather before spending a trip on a species you need. If conditions are wrong, switch to a different gathering activity instead of repeatedly checking an empty spot.
3. Talk to Neighbors and use preferred gifts
Chat with the Neighbors you are actively developing, then give items from their preferred lists. This raises bonds more efficiently than handing over random surplus. Bond progression unlocks Bond Talents and keepsakes; Bond Level 6 adds Homi Decor, and Bond Level 8 awards a BFF outfit. Events and voyages also contribute to relationships.
4. Clear Galactic Bazaar activities
The Galactic Bazaar supplies Bazaar Jellies for the Prize Kiosk. The guide documents up to 80 Jellies per day from Bazaar activities. Daily Mingle adds 10 Jellies for visiting and 8 for chatting at Cafe Untamed. Because the activity amount is capped by the documented daily limit, complete the Bazaar loop before logging off if you want the full daily yield.
5. Finish Footprints achievements
Footprints achievements pay Loomi, the currency used in the Loomix Mart. They reward broad play rather than one specific resource route, so check the achievement list after gathering, cooking, collecting creatures, or completing social tasks and claim completed rewards.
Gathering tools and what each activity contributes

Gather broadly when you are pushing the Arbor or building Folio Score. Narrow your route only when you are targeting a night fish, a rain-dependent creature, a Neighbor’s requested item, or a specific upgrade material.

Chopping, mining, and digging draw from Strength, creating a practical limit on how much heavy gathering you can do in one outing. Raw apples restore a little Strength; cooked dishes restore more, so cooking converts ordinary harvests into longer expeditions.
Use food strategically
- Carry a small supply of raw apples for emergencies when you are close to empty.
- Use cooked dishes before a planned mining or digging route, where the larger restoration has more value.
- Harvest higher-grade crops when possible because the guide notes that better grades support better recipes.
- Do not spend every ingredient on sales if you are about to explore; food can prevent a return trip and preserve the day’s productive time.
The guide lists 92 recipes in the 0.95 Final Beta build. That number describes the documented test catalog, not a confirmed launch total.
How Starsea Voyage advances exploration
Once the story unlocks Starsea Voyage, talk to Elsasani and choose up to two Neighbors to accompany you. Use Star Anchors to land on Islets. Each Islet can combine several reasons to visit: ordinary resources, a puzzle, a chest, and an encounter that may add a new Neighbor.

Choose companions for the objective
Take Neighbors whose bond you are trying to raise when the route is safe and familiar. A voyage then advances exploration and relationship progress together. If you are searching for a specific encounter or chest, prioritize the route and conditions over the companion choice.
Spend Islet Lucadrops on permanent voyage progress
Starsea Voyages award Islet Lucadrops. Spend them on Star Gates and voyage upgrades rather than treating them as ordinary shop money. Star Gates open access to deeper areas, where the guide reports additional resources, puzzles, Galaxy Stars, and chests.
Neighbor progression and unlocking more residents
Neighbor recruitment is tied to story progress, Islet encounters, and relationship activity. The guide documents 16 Neighbors in the tested build, but the roster can change before launch.
Raise bonds efficiently
- Chat during your daily route.
- Give items from each Neighbor’s preferred list instead of random items.
- Join events and voyages with the Neighbor you want to develop.
- Watch for Bond Talents and keepsakes as milestones arrive.
- Plan for Homi Decor at Bond Level 6 and the BFF outfit at Bond Level 8.
Arbor levels 6, 7, 8, and 9 each add one Neighbor slot, so increasing the Arbor expands how many relationships you can maintain at once. When a new resident appears through an Islet encounter, add them to your rotation rather than abandoning an existing bond; the slot increases let you work on a wider roster over time.

Keep the currencies separate in your planning. Selling everything for Dough can leave you short of ingredients for cooking or gifts, while spending Luca without checking the Arbor requirement can delay a milestone that unlocks plots or a Neighbor slot.

Which activity should you prioritize?
Use the goal that matters most to choose your next task. The same action can help more than one track, but its main payoff differs.

Folio Score, creatures, and furniture
Collection is not just a museum-style side activity. New creatures and furniture raise Folio Score, which in turn provides titles, Dough, and rugs. That makes a first catch or a new furniture item potentially more valuable than repeatedly farming the same common resource.
When the clock or weather blocks a target creature, switch to furniture collection, fishing at the correct time, bug catching, beachcombing, or an Islet puzzle. This keeps the collection track moving without wasting Strength on an unavailable spawn.

Petit Planet supports visiting friends’ planets. It also has the Galactic Bazaar as a shared hub with music, fishing, a dance activity, and other social interactions. These features sit alongside, rather than replace, the solo progression loop: Arbor upgrades, gathering, cooking, voyages, and Neighbor bonds still supply the main advancement.

Neighbor bonding itself is social in design but not limited to another human player. Chats, gifts, events, and voyages are the documented ways to develop in-game residents.
Common beginner mistakes and fixes
Spending the whole day on one resource
Problem: You miss time- or weather-dependent creatures and delay collection progress.
Fix: Check the clock and weather first, then choose the tool and route that match current conditions.
Ignoring food until Strength is empty
Problem: Mining, digging, and chopping stop early, forcing an unnecessary return.
Fix: Cook ahead, carry dishes for planned heavy work, and reserve apples for emergencies.
Selling every catch and harvest
Problem: You gain Dough but lose ingredients needed for recipes, preferred gifts, or collection-related goals.
Fix: Keep a reserve for cooking, Neighbor requests, and any item whose use you have not checked.
Skipping the story to explore
Problem: Farming and Starsea Voyage remain unavailable or incomplete.
Fix: Follow the main story until it teaches farming and unlocks the voyage system.
Ignoring the Bazaar cap
Problem: You leave Bazaar Jellies unclaimed even though the documented activity amount is daily.
Fix: Visit the Bazaar, complete Daily Mingle, including the 10-Jelly visit reward and 8-Jelly Cafe Untamed chat reward, and finish the remaining activities before logging out.
Treating Final Beta data as permanent
Problem: You plan around a number, price, roster, or requirement that changes at launch.

A practical first-week plan
Day 1: unlock the loop
Advance the story, learn farming, gather with each available tool, and feed Luca to the Arbor whenever an upgrade is available. Cook enough food for the next session.
Day 2: stabilize supplies
Harvest and replant, sell genuine surplus for Dough, retain ingredients for recipes and gifts, and begin chatting with the Neighbors you expect to keep in your rotation.
Day 3: add timed collection
Check the clock and weather, target night fish or rain-dependent creatures when conditions match, and use Footprints achievements to collect Loomi.

Day 4: start voyages
Speak with Elsasani, take up to two Neighbors, land on Islets with Star Anchors, and collect resources, chests, puzzles, and any available encounter.
Day 5 and beyond: balance the four tracks
Keep crops growing, complete the Bazaar routine, raise bonds with preferred gifts, spend currencies only on their intended systems, and use Star Gates as your exploration resources accumulate.
What is confirmed and what can change
The current evidence confirms a Winter 2026 launch window, the three listed platforms, an invite-only progress-wiping Final Beta, the core Arbor and voyage loop, and the documented currency purposes. It does not specify a launch day, final storage requirements, final monetization, or a permanent total for recipes and Neighbors.
Use the launch version’s notices for those details. Until then, the safest strategy is to learn the sequence of systems rather than memorize test-build prices or drop tables.
