What rerolling means in Persona 5: The Phantom X
Rerolling means creating a fresh guest account, using its early tickets and currency to summon characters, and deleting that guest account if the opening roster is not good enough. Persona 5: The Phantom X creates a guest account when the app is first launched, so you do not need a separate email address for every attempt.
The process is useful because your first few Contracts can provide a better foundation for story stages and future team building. It is also optional. A reroll gives you an early advantage; it is not a requirement for clearing the game. Characters, banner rules and balance priorities change over time, so an account that is merely good and already linked can be worth more than an ideal opening that costs hours of resets.
Prydwen’s documented route takes up to 10 minutes per attempt. That upper bound matters: decide how many attempts you will allow before you begin, rather than escalating indefinitely because one pull was unlucky.

When you should reroll—and when you should keep the first account
Reroll when the opening is important to your plan
A reset is sensible when the featured character is a personal priority or the core of a team you intend to play, the character’s banner is currently available on your server, and the rewards on a new account give you a credible number of attempts. Those three conditions should all be true. If any one is missing, the time cost usually outweighs the benefit.
Keep a good beginner result
Stop when the discounted beginner sequence gives you the selector result you wanted, when you have one or more strong standard characters that cover your planned teams, or when you obtain a limited character at a reasonable cost. “Perfect” is not a useful standard if achieving it requires dozens of ten-minute loops. Future banners and balance updates can reduce the value of an early target, while a linked account lets you start earning progression immediately.
Do not assume a limited character is always obtainable at the start
Game.Guide’s October 2026 guidance is that a new account usually does not have enough starting currency to reach a limited rate-up guarantee. Blindly resetting for every limited unit can therefore consume time without ever reaching the banner’s safety net. Treat an early limited five-star as a fortunate hit unless your available rewards and saved currency support the required pity.

- Launch the game and choose Guest Login. The first launch automatically creates the guest account. Do not attach a permanent login while you are still evaluating the result.
- Play only to the summon system. Complete the minimum tutorial and continue until Contracts are unlocked. Avoid optional story, upgrades and exploration during a reroll attempt.
- Collect every early reward. Open the mailbox and claim standard tickets and other launch rewards. Also check the login event. Prydwen’s documented route includes 20 standard pulls from mail, another ten-pull after additional early progress, and two standard pulls from the event’s daily login; those rewards can change with patches, regions and active events.
- Spend the beginner-banner allowance first. Use the discounted Newcomer/Beginner Contracts before committing resources to a limited banner. The first five ten-pulls cost eight pulls each, so the sequence provides 50 attempts for the price of 40 pulls. The reroll guide reports a selector at the end of those 50 attempts.
- Apply your stopping rule. Compare the result with the target you wrote down before starting: a selector choice, a useful standard roster, or a specific limited character. Do not add new requirements after seeing an almost-good account.
- Delete a failed guest account from the title screen. Log out, return to the title screen, open User (the User center), choose the account-deletion option, and confirm. Then start a new guest login. Deletion removes that attempt’s progress.
- Link the accepted account. Once you decide to keep the account, use a supported login method to preserve it across devices and reinstalls. Linking is the final step, not part of the reset loop.
SEGA’s support guidance warns: “Please note that Selecting Guest Login or deleting an account during the switching process will create a new account and start the game from the beginning.” In practical terms, a new guest login is not a way to recover a deleted run.
Banner mechanics that determine a sensible reroll
The beginner banner and the two limited-character paths serve different purposes. The figures below are the published mechanics in the current guide; check the Contract screen in your live client because a patch can change rates, pity or discounts.

“Hard pity” is the banner’s stated maximum distance to the relevant five-star outcome, not a promise that a fresh account can afford to reach it. The lower base rate on the Targeted path is paired with a longer guarantee; the Chance path starts with a higher base rate but does not guarantee the featured character on the first five-star.
How to read the pull numbers
The beginner discount is easy to misread. You are not receiving 50 free pulls: you are receiving five ten-pull attempts while paying eight pull-equivalents for each ten-pull. In total, the sequence costs 40 pulls and produces 50 summon attempts. Compare every other plan with that baseline, because spending the same starting currency elsewhere gives up the discounted attempts and the reported selector at the end.

On the Chance banner, the published 0.8% base five-star rate describes the ordinary rate, while the 80-pull hard pity describes the maximum stated distance to a five-star. The 50% rate-up outcome means the first five-star can still be a permanent or otherwise non-featured result. A reroll that stops after a few pulls is therefore testing luck, not securing the character.
The Targeted banner reverses that trade-off. Its base rate is 0.4%, the hard pity is 110 pulls, and the five-star at that pity is guaranteed to be the rate-up character. The same pity type also lists a random permanent five-star at 165 cumulative pulls. Because the threshold is longer, a new account needs substantially more currency or patience to use this route as a real guarantee. Confirm how the live Contract screen defines cumulative pulls and which rewards are active when you plan a session.
Choosing between beginner value and limited-banner odds
Use the beginner sequence when your priority is a reliable starting roster. It gives a known number of attempts, a known discount and a reported selector, so you can evaluate an account without depending entirely on a single lucky five-star. This is especially important when the current event is near its end or when your server has a different reward schedule.
Choose the Chance path only when you would be happy with either outcome of its first five-star, or when you are deliberately accepting the 50% risk to test a limited character quickly. Choose the Targeted path when certainty matters more than speed and you can keep the account long enough to approach 110 pulls. Neither banner turns a small launch package into a guaranteed limited unit.
A sensible comparison is therefore not “Which banner has the best rate?” but “What result can this account afford?” A 0.8% rate with 80-pull pity may produce an early hit, yet it can miss the rate-up. A 0.4% rate with 110-pull pity is less favorable for a short experiment, yet it gives a defined route to the featured character if you can fund it. The beginner banner remains the efficient first use of a new account’s limited starting resources.
When a limited-character reroll is worth the time
Check that the banner is live now
Limited Contracts rotate. The official Persona 5: The Phantom X site listed 5-star Mitsuru Kirijo in Most Wanted Phantom Idol Contracts on October 15, 2026. That dated listing demonstrates why a guide should name the banner and date rather than promise that a particular target is permanently available. Open the in-game Contract screen and verify the end time for your server before deleting an account for a character you may no longer be able to pull.
Estimate your attainable attempts
Add the tickets and currency you can claim during the initial route, then compare that total with the banner’s pity length. If the total is far below 80 or 110 pulls, you are relying on an early five-star rather than planning around a guarantee. That can still be fun, but it is a lottery-style reroll, not a guaranteed acquisition strategy.
Use a limited reroll for a foundation, not completion
A limited character can anchor a first team, but one unit does not replace account progression, upgrade materials or compatible teammates. If the beginner selector and standard pulls already provide a coherent roster, saving future currency may produce more value than restarting for a unit that will return later or lose priority after a balance change.

Efficient rerolling is about removing dead time, not skipping rewards. Move through only the mandatory tutorial scenes, unlock Contracts, collect mail and login rewards, and summon immediately. Keep a simple note of which rewards you claimed so every attempt uses the same route. If a patch adds a new login event or removes an old one, update the route rather than assuming the previous total still applies.

The documented early package includes 20 standard pulls from mail, another ten-pull after additional early progress, and two standard pulls from the event daily login. Claiming those items in a different order does not change their value, but forgetting one can make two accounts appear different when the only difference is an unopened mailbox. Do not spend time on optional upgrades during a run whose purpose is only to evaluate the opening Contracts.
How to set a rational stopping rule
Write the rule before your first attempt and make it specific. Examples include “keep any account with my preferred selector result,” “keep a beginner result with two useful standard five-stars,” or “keep the limited character only if it arrives without spending beyond the launch rewards.” A rule that can be checked immediately prevents post-pull bargaining.
- Set a time cap: Prydwen’s route can take up to 10 minutes, so a 30-minute cap means three complete attempts, not an open-ended session.
- Set a resource cap: Decide whether you will spend only free launch rewards or also use currency earned from the extra tutorial progress.
- Rank outcomes: A wanted selector result may be more valuable to you than an off-target limited five-star; decide that order in advance.
- Accept a near miss: If an account meets your written rule, link it and begin normal progression instead of adding a new condition.
Resetting repeatedly for a mathematically perfect opening has an opportunity cost: every reset delays daily rewards, story progress and access to future currency. The best account is the one that meets your needs at a time cost you can accept.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Linking too early
Do not link a guest account you still intend to reset. A linked account is your preservation step. Finish the pulls, inspect the roster and make the keep-or-delete decision first.
Skipping the mailbox or login event
Missing one claim changes the number of attempts and can make an otherwise good reroll look worse. Check both the mailbox and the active login-event panel before summoning.
Spending the discounted pulls on the wrong banner
The beginner sequence is the efficient baseline because its first five ten-pulls are discounted and its 50-attempt sequence includes a reported selector. Spending that budget on a limited banner first gives up the predictable beginner value. Only divert pulls when a limited target is your explicit priority and you understand the pity trade-off.
Deleting the wrong account
Confirm the displayed user information on the title screen before selecting deletion. The account-deletion action starts that guest run over; SEGA’s warning means you should not expect a deleted guest to remain available after a new guest login.

Treating published banner rules as permanent
Rates, pity thresholds, discounts and available characters are live-service settings. Use the figures in the table as the current published baseline, then verify the Contract details in the client immediately before a reroll session.
Confusing a new guest with a saved account
Guest access is useful precisely because it is disposable. Starting another guest login is not a second slot that preserves the previous run. If you have a result worth keeping, stop and link it first; otherwise, deletion and a new guest login begin from the start.

- Is the limited character you want listed on your server right now? If not, use the beginner route and save.
- Is that character important enough to justify repeated ten-minute attempts? If not, keep the first strong beginner account.
- Can your available rewards make a meaningful number of pulls toward the relevant pity? If not, treat a limited reroll as a low-probability experiment, not a plan.
- Have you completed the discounted beginner sequence and checked its selector? If not, finish that predictable value before judging the account.
- Does the result meet your written stopping rule? If yes, link it. If no, delete the guest account from the title-screen User center and start the next attempt.
Account safety after you keep a result
Link the accepted account to a supported login method as soon as you finish rerolling. This protects progress when you change devices or reinstall the game. Keep a record of which login method you used, and verify that the linked account opens the expected roster before removing the app or signing out elsewhere. Never use the link-and-reset step as a test on an account you might want to preserve.
Persona 5: The Phantom X launched globally on June 26, 2025, and its ongoing banner schedule means reroll advice will age. The durable method is therefore procedural: use guest access, collect the current rewards, start with the discounted beginner Contracts, verify live banner details, apply a fixed stopping rule, then link the account you keep.
