Studio Wildrose says it is moving ahead with PENNY BLOOD REVIOLENCE, a spin-off novel, but that work does not mean the core RPG has secured funding, a publisher, or a release date.
Does Penny Blood have a publisher?
No. Noisy Pixel reported on October 2, 2026, that creator Matsuzo Machida said the team had not found a publisher. Machida shared the update after backers and fans asked about the crowdfunding campaign and the project. In a March 18, 2026 anniversary update, Studio Wildrose said it remained in contact with several companies and was having concrete discussions. Machida attributed the difficulty to the cost of RPG development, publishers’ scrutiny of scope, schedules and profitability, and a preference for projects with an existing sales record. What is PENNY BLOOD REVIOLENCE?
REVIOLENCE is a prequel spin-off to the main Penny Blood story. It follows Matthew, a World War I veteran who becomes a warrior hunting monstrous or otherworldly beings. Studio Wildrose describes it as a novel and says it is producing the project as new spin-out content following the Inheritors story. Noisy Pixel’s March 18 coverage reported the premise; the studio’s later update identifies REVIOLENCE as a novel.

Studio Wildrose has framed the spin-off as part of an effort to raise awareness and the value of the Penny Blood intellectual property while continuing to pursue the game. The novel’s progress and the RPG’s publisher search are separate matters: the spin-off does not establish that the RPG has financing or a production schedule.
When will the REVIOLENCE novel be released?
The previously reported target was fall 2026, but that was a planned window, not a confirmed release date. The available reports do not confirm that the novel had been released as of October 3, 2026, or establish its edition, language, territory, price, or seller. The October status report and March announcement coverage do not provide a firm launch day or current sales information.

Why is Studio Wildrose continuing with the spin-off?
In March, founder Matsuzo Machida said the studio needed to keep increasing the value of the Penny Blood IP. In the English translation reproduced by Noisy Pixel, he said: “There are high walls that cannot be overcome by our passion alone, so I realize once again that it is most important to continue our efforts to steadily increase the value of the ‘Pennyblood’ IP as before.” The statement reflects Machida’s reasoning for developing the property while the team seeks to realize the game.
