Choose by platform before choosing by price. PDP’s Riffmaster is the simpler buy when you want the officially listed Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 experience on the matching console version. CRKD’s Gibson Les Paul multi-platform edition reaches more device types, but Fortnite Festival on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series consoles depends on CRKD’s KEYJAM Mode 9. CRKD says its Xbox-specific Guitar Controller editions currently do not support KEYJAM, so that SKU should not be treated as interchangeable with the multi-platform model.
The short answer: match the controller to your platform and exact edition
There is no evidence-based universal winner between these controllers. The right choice depends first on the console or device you will use, then on whether you prefer a straightforward officially described setup or broader hardware compatibility with a more involved mapping mode.

| What you need | Better starting point | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 on a supported console | PDP Riffmaster for that platform | PDP/Turtle Beach explicitly lists compatibility with both games. You must buy the Riffmaster version matching your console. |
| One controller for PC, handheld PC, Switch, Android and selected consoles | CRKD Gibson Les Paul multi-platform edition | CRKD lists those device categories and adds console Festival support through KEYJAM Mode 9. |
| Xbox Festival with a CRKD controller | Check the multi-platform edition, not the Xbox-specific edition | CRKD currently says its Xbox-specific Guitar Controllers do not support KEYJAM. |
| Mechanical fret switches and adjustable Hall Effect strum | CRKD Les Paul Pro | Those are CRKD’s stated Pro features; they are not independent proof of greater durability. |
| Standard fret buttons and a mechanical click strum | CRKD Les Paul Encore | The Encore uses a simpler control specification and is listed at a lower observed manufacturer price. |
Start with the platform check
PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5
The platform-matched Riffmaster is the least ambiguous route when your main games are Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4. Confirm that the product listing is the PlayStation version; PDP does not describe one Riffmaster SKU as working across every console.

The CRKD Gibson Les Paul multi-platform edition can add Fortnite Festival support on PS4 and PS5 through KEYJAM Mode 9. That is a CRKD mapping mode rather than the same native product claim used for the Riffmaster. Read the current CRKD setup instructions for the exact edition before buying. The Xbox-specific CRKD edition is a different product and should not be assumed to provide this PlayStation behavior.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S
For a conventional Xbox setup, use the Riffmaster version identified for Xbox if you want PDP’s listed Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 compatibility.
CRKD’s distinction is critical here. The multi-platform Les Paul is the edition CRKD describes with KEYJAM support for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. CRKD separately states that its Xbox-specific Guitar Controllers currently do not support KEYJAM. That means the Xbox-specific SKU cannot be recommended as a like-for-like Fortnite Festival purchase on the basis of the multi-platform model’s claims.
PC and PC handhelds
CRKD’s multi-platform product information lists PC and PC handhelds, making it the broader-device option for players who move between a desktop, laptop and handheld. CRKD also positions the Les Paul family for games such as YARG and Clone Hero.
Recommended Free Tools
PDP’s Riffmaster page names Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4, but the compatibility claim is tied to the appropriate platform version. Do not assume a console Riffmaster will automatically function as a universal PC controller simply because it uses wireless connectivity.
Nintendo Switch, Android and older PlayStation hardware
CRKD lists Switch and Android support for its multi-platform edition, along with a PlayStation 3 Legacy Mode. These are product-family compatibility claims, so verify the exact Encore or Pro listing and current instructions. KEYJAM’s console Festival description covers PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S; it should not be read as a claim that every listed device runs Fortnite Festival through the same mode.

What each controller officially offers
PDP Riffmaster
PDP/Turtle Beach describes the Riffmaster as “Compatible with Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4.” The official product information also lists:
- A wireless connection rated for up to 30 feet of range.
- A built-in rechargeable battery rated for up to 36 hours per charge.
- A design usable by left- or right-handed players.
- A 3.5 mm audio jack.
- A collapsible body for storage or transport.
- A Riffmaster replacement-pickguard accessory.
The 30-foot and 36-hour figures are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements from a comparative test. Wireless range varies with room layout, interference and the receiving device. Battery life also depends on use and settings, so treat 36 hours as the stated maximum rating rather than a guaranteed session length.

CRKD presents the Gibson Les Paul line as a controller family for Fortnite Festival, classic Guitar Hero and Rock Band games, YARG and Clone Hero. The practical differences are the edition and the connection mode:
| CRKD version | Control hardware described by CRKD | Compatibility detail | Observed manufacturer price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Les Paul Pro | Mechanical fret switches; Hall Effect strum bar with adjustable sensitivity and haptic feedback | Multi-platform listings include PC, PC handhelds, Switch, Android and PlayStation 3 Legacy Mode. KEYJAM Mode 9 is described for Festival on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. | $124.99 on some CRKD pages accessed October 13, 2026; price and stock can change. |
| Les Paul Encore | Standard fret buttons; mechanical click strum bar | Use the same exact-edition compatibility check. The Xbox-specific edition has the current KEYJAM limitation stated by CRKD. | $114.99 on some CRKD pages accessed October 13, 2026; price and stock can change. |
CRKD’s descriptions of precision, reliability or response are product claims. They do not establish independent durability, latency or performance advantages over the Riffmaster.
Fortnite Festival setup: native listing versus KEYJAM
How to approach a Riffmaster purchase
- Identify your console or device before opening a product page.
- Select the Riffmaster platform version that names that console. Do not rely on the word “wireless” as evidence of cross-console compatibility.
- Check that the listing still states Fortnite Festival support and note any platform-specific requirements.
- Pair the controller using the current PDP/Turtle Beach instructions, then select the guitar input in Fortnite Festival.
- If you also play Rock Band 4, confirm that the same SKU is the one described for your console.
The key advantage is clarity: PDP’s product description directly names Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4. The exact pairing screens and console permissions can change with system software, so follow the current manual for the selected version rather than a guide written for another platform.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
How to approach a CRKD multi-platform purchase
- Choose the multi-platform Les Paul edition if console Fortnite Festival is a requirement. Do not substitute the Xbox-specific edition without checking its current feature list.
- Confirm that your device appears in CRKD’s compatibility information: PC, PC handheld, Switch, Android, or PlayStation 3 Legacy Mode as applicable.
- For PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S Festival play, verify that the selected product supports KEYJAM Mode 9.
- Follow CRKD’s current KEYJAM instructions for that model. The mapping mode is part of the setup, so ordinary Bluetooth or wireless pairing alone does not establish Festival compatibility.
- Test the fret buttons and strum bar in a low-stakes song before relying on the controller for competitive or event play.
CRKD’s Xbox-specific limitation is the most important failure point: the company currently says those Xbox-specific Guitar Controllers do not support KEYJAM. If a listing, reseller title or old review suggests otherwise, defer to the current CRKD product information for the exact SKU.
Control feel: Pro, Encore and the Riffmaster question
CRKD Pro
The Pro uses mechanical fret switches and a Hall Effect strum bar with adjustable sensitivity and haptic feedback, according to CRKD. Mechanical switches can appeal to players who want a defined button actuation, while adjustable strum sensitivity gives more configuration control. Those are design characteristics, not a guarantee that every player will score better or that the parts will last longer.
CRKD Encore
The Encore uses standard fret buttons and a mechanical click strum bar. Its simpler hardware may suit someone who wants the Les Paul form factor and multi-platform range without paying for the Pro’s specified switch and strum features. Whether the click feel is preferable is personal; try to buy from a seller with a practical return policy if tactile feel is your deciding factor.
Riffmaster feel and play style
The available product information establishes the Riffmaster’s compatibility and physical features but does not provide a measured comparison of fret force, strum travel, latency or durability against either CRKD model. An independent TechRadar review frames the broader choice as partly a preference between Guitar Hero-style and Rock Band-style instrument feel. That is a reviewer’s opinion, not a controlled comparative test, so use it as a prompt to consider your own habits rather than as a performance verdict.
Games beyond Fortnite Festival
Rock Band 4
Rock Band 4 is explicitly named by PDP for the Riffmaster. CRKD also describes its Les Paul family for classic Rock Band games, but compatibility still depends on the exact edition, platform and mode. If Rock Band 4 on a specific console is your primary use, the platform-matched Riffmaster has the clearer official product statement.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Guitar Hero, YARG and Clone Hero
CRKD lists classic Guitar Hero games, YARG and Clone Hero among the intended uses for the Les Paul family. Community and legacy games can involve their own input mappings, operating-system permissions or adapter requirements. Check the game’s current controller documentation and the CRKD instructions for your edition instead of assuming that a Festival mapping will carry over unchanged.
Switch, Android and legacy systems
The multi-platform CRKD edition’s listed Switch, Android and PlayStation 3 Legacy Mode support is its strongest advantage for a mixed-device household. PDP’s Riffmaster description is narrower in the supplied product information, centered on Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 for the matching platform version.
Price, availability and what the numbers do not tell you
CRKD product pages accessed on October 13, 2026 showed some Encore editions at $114.99 and some Pro editions at $124.99. These are observed manufacturer-page prices, not a guaranteed current retail price, a permanent MSRP or a stock promise. Edition, color, region, shipping and promotions can change the amount.
No current, like-for-like Riffmaster price was established alongside those CRKD listings. Historical prices in independent reviews should not be presented as today’s offer. Compare the exact platform SKU, shipping total and return policy on the same day before deciding.

| Exact platform or edition | A lower price may be for the Xbox-specific CRKD model, a different CRKD revision or the wrong Riffmaster console version. |
| Current KEYJAM status | An apparent bargain is not useful for Festival if the SKU lacks the required mode. |
| Included accessories | Confirm what is in the box and whether a replacement pickguard or other accessory is sold separately. |
| Return coverage | Button and strum feel are subjective, and wireless behavior can depend on the host device. |
| Stock date | Manufacturer pages and retailers can show different availability or regional pricing. |
Common buying mistakes and fixes
Mistake: assuming every Riffmaster works everywhere
Fix: Treat the platform version as a requirement. Read the console name in the product title and compatibility section before ordering.

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Mistake: buying the CRKD Xbox-specific edition for KEYJAM Festival play
Fix: Check for the multi-platform edition and the current KEYJAM Mode 9 description. CRKD’s current statement says Xbox-specific Guitar Controllers do not support KEYJAM.
Mistake: treating “multi-platform” as “every game on every device”
Fix: Separate hardware-device support from game support. PC, Switch and Android compatibility does not automatically mean Fortnite Festival uses the same mode on each device.
Mistake: reading a feature claim as a tested result
Fix: Mechanical switches, Hall Effect sensing, haptics, a 30-foot wireless rating and a 36-hour battery rating describe design or manufacturer specifications. They are not independent latency, durability or battery tests.
Mistake: using an old review price or setup guide
Fix: Recheck the manufacturer page and same-day retailer listing. Firmware, console software and stock can change, while historical reviews remain useful mainly for context.
A practical decision framework
Choose the Riffmaster when
- Your main console is clearly supported by the Riffmaster version you are buying.
- You want the shortest path to the officially described Fortnite Festival and Rock Band 4 use case.
- You value the listed 30-foot wireless range, rechargeable battery, reversible handedness, 3.5 mm jack or collapsible body.
- You do not need one guitar for Switch, Android, PC handhelds and multiple console families.
Choose the CRKD Les Paul multi-platform edition when
- You regularly move between PC, a PC handheld, Switch, Android or a supported PlayStation 3 legacy setup.
- You want one product family aimed at Festival, classic Guitar Hero/Rock Band titles, YARG and Clone Hero.
- You are prepared to use KEYJAM Mode 9 for Festival on PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.
- You specifically prefer the Pro’s mechanical fret and Hall Effect strum design, or the Encore’s standard fret and click-strum specification.
Wait or verify before buying when
- The listing does not clearly name the platform or CRKD edition.
- You are on Xbox and the product is labeled Xbox-specific.
- The seller’s compatibility text conflicts with the current manufacturer information.
- The price is substantially different from other listings and you cannot confirm whether it is a different revision, bundle or region.
Bottom line
For a single supported console and a straightforward Fortnite Festival/Rock Band 4 purchase, buy the platform-matched PDP Riffmaster. For a mixed-device setup, the CRKD Gibson Les Paul multi-platform edition is the broader option, with Pro and Encore control differences to weigh against price. On Xbox, verify the edition especially carefully: CRKD’s current information says the Xbox-specific Guitar Controllers do not support KEYJAM, while the multi-platform model is the one described for KEYJAM-based Festival compatibility. No feature sheet establishes a universal winner, so platform and exact SKU should decide before tactile preference or price.
