There is no single best dinosaur in Path of Titans. The right pick changes with solo versus group play, habitat, diet, matchup, and your mastery of the creature. For a solo player, prioritize reliable food, water, escape tools, stamina, and healing. For a coordinated group, buffs, debuffs, carrying ability, and damage coordination can matter more than individual survivability. This tier list therefore ranks roles and documented strengths rather than pretending that one universal S-to-D order is official.

The short answer: which dinosaur should you choose?
Choose by the job you want your dinosaur to perform:
#1 Best Overall
- Cooperative deck-building game
- Play as one of eight different heroes, each with a unique Special ability
- Move your hero from location to location to gather the cards you need to stop the Titans!
- Compatible with previous and future Cerberus game engine releases
- Ages 15 & up, 1-5 players
| What you value | Best starting direction | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Solo survival | A land herbivore with dependable berry access, or a carnivore with several legal food sources | Food and water routes determine whether you can grow, heal, and recover after a fight. |
| Group utility | A dinosaur whose kit contributes buffs, debuffs, coordinated damage, carrying, or protection | A coordinated group can turn support and positioning into more value than raw damage. |
| Mobility and escapes | A runner, aquatic specialist, or flyer suited to the habitat you know best | Terrain and access to water often decide whether an unfavorable encounter becomes survivable. |
| Heavy brawling | A large combatant only if you can manage turning, stamina, hit zones, and recovery | Size alone does not guarantee a favorable matchup. |
| Simple learning curve | A food-flexible, forgiving generalist | Fewer route and matchup constraints leave more room to learn movement and combat fundamentals. |
If you want a named example from the documented roster, Tyrannosaurus is notable for a March 27, 2025 Tyrannosaurus TLC that added knockback immunity while it carries another dinosaur. That is meaningful group and transport utility, but it does not establish Tyrannosaurus as the strongest creature in every duel. Sarcosuchus and Megalania illustrate the opposite lesson: even creatures that share a diet can have different food access, so a food route can change a practical ranking.
How this tier list works
“S tier” has no universal meaning in Path of Titans. A creature that is exceptional in a coordinated group may be merely average when alone, and an aquatic specialist can be outstanding near water while struggling far inland. The tables below use context tiers:
- S: an unusually strong fit for the stated role when the player understands its constraints.
- A: consistently effective for the role, with identifiable weaknesses or extra execution demands.
- B: viable, but more dependent on terrain, food routes, allies, or matchup knowledge.
- Specialist: powerful in a narrow situation but not a safe all-purpose recommendation.
These are editorial role ratings, not developer rankings. A June 6, 2025 community tier-list video explicitly said its list was not official and judged enjoyability, kit and playstyle flexibility, mastery, attacks and statistics relative to peers, and solo/group use. Treat that kind of list as community context, not policy from Alderon Games.

- FINISHING TASKS IS A BIT MORE EXTREME WHEN YOU'RE A SUPERHERO: The Teen Titans have a lot to do during the day. To get everything done, they have split into two teams. Even though it didn’t start as a contest to see who could get everything done first, the gauntlet has been thrown down and if it means a little playful combat, so be it.
- COMBAT STRATEGY BOARD GAME: Teen Titans GO! Mayhem puts players in the role of the Titans as they go around the city trying to complete missions and gain VPs. Of course, completing the missions isn’t the only one way to gain VPs. They can also KO one-another to speed up their victory!
- ACTION-PACKED FIGHTING GAME: Teen Titans Go Mayhem is built around the "Mayhem System", a system for character vs. character team-based combat in which the most direct method for a team to gain VP is by KOing their opponents.
- CHALLENGING AND COMPETITIVE: Each Titan has their own hero dashboard with their own unique style and special moves to utilize throughout the game. Roll the Mayhem die and see just how much damage can be done in this winner-take-all contest. The player that gets to 5 VPs first is the winner.
- NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: This fun combat strategy board game for adults and kids is made for 2 to 4 players and is suitable for ages 10 and older. Average playtime is approximately 30 minutes.
What the roster and factions actually include
Alderon Games describes the roster as two factions: Carnivores and Herbivores. The game also supports aquatic and flying playstyles, so faction alone does not tell you how a dinosaur travels or finds safety. The official roster marks some creatures with an asterisk because they are planned rather than playable; never rank a planned creature as though you can select it on a live server.
A Path of Titans Wiki overview recorded a historical count of 21 playable carnivores and 15 playable herbivores when that page was crawled in 2024. That number is not a current guarantee. Creature releases, planned additions, and balance updates can change the count, so verify the live roster in the game or on the current official roster page before using a number in a guide or server rule set.
Herbivore tier list: best roles for solo and group players
The available evidence does not establish a current, named ranking for every individual herbivore. Rather than inventing placements or outdated statistics, this table ranks the herbivore roles that determine whether a species is a good choice. Apply the role to a currently playable creature after checking its present abilities, growth quests, speed, stamina, and defenses.

- LEVI CHARACTER DECK: Each ready to play deck contains 61 cards (60 cards + 1 character card) focused on that character’s particular strengths.
- PLAYMAT: Decks also contain a learn to play guide and a paper playmat.
- BRINGING THE MANGA TO LIFE in our set gives it a distinct visual style that is sure to attract a lot of attention.
- NON-CHARACTER CARDS in these decks are found in Attack on Titan: Battle for Humanity, providing a good starting point for a new player to build their collection.
| Context tier | Herbivore role | Best use | Main reason | Who should pick it? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S for solo reliability | Berry-access generalist | Solo growth and routine survival | Berries are the staple herbivore food, and most juveniles rely on them until they can eat harder foods. A creature that can reach berry patches safely has a dependable early-game route. | Pick this if you are learning the map, questing alone, or dislike gambling your growth on rare resources. |
| A for group utility | Support-oriented herbivore | Coordinated herds | Buffs, debuffs, protection, and coordinated positioning can increase the entire group’s effectiveness even when the support creature is not the top damage dealer. | Pick this if you use voice chat, stay near allies, and enjoy making other players stronger. |
| A for safety | Defensive brawler | Holding ground and deterring attacks | Defenses matter most when you can control spacing, protect a retreat route, and avoid being isolated. The role is less forgiving when stamina or turning is poor. | Pick this if you prefer measured engagements and can read hit zones instead of chasing every target. |
| A for mobility | Runner or escape specialist | Scouting, quest travel, and disengagement | Speed, stamina management, and terrain knowledge let a solo player refuse bad fights. Mobility is a survival tool, not merely a travel convenience. | Pick this if you would rather avoid a losing matchup than win a slow trade of damage. |
| Specialist | Aquatic or semi-aquatic herbivore | Water-based routes and ambush avoidance | Water can provide access and escape options, but the value falls sharply when quests and food require long inland trips. | Pick this if your group plays around lakes, rivers, or coastal routes and understands the limits of leaving water. |
Why herbivore diet access changes the ranking
Diet is not a cosmetic choice. The Wiki explains that different species must eat different foods, with berries serving as the staple herbivore resource. Most juveniles depend on berries until they can consume harder foods. That creates a practical tier difference between two otherwise similar herbivores: the one that can reach a safe berry route consistently may grow faster, heal more reliably, and spend less time exposed while searching.
When comparing herbivores, record the following before assigning a high tier:
- Where the legal early-game food appears and whether a juvenile can reach it.
- Whether food and water are close enough to combine in one safe route.
- How much stamina is available for an escape after feeding.
- Whether the creature can defend a food patch or must abandon it whenever a predator arrives.
- Whether its group abilities require allies to remain nearby, face a target, or maintain a particular formation.
Carnivore tier list: resource flexibility, ambushes, and group pressure
Carnivores are not ranked by bite damage alone. The Wiki lists corpses, meat chunks, fish, bones, critters, and other players as possible carnivore food sources depending on the species’ diet. A predator that can switch between several legal resources may be easier to sustain than one that depends on a single route, even if both have similar combat potential.

| Context tier | Carnivore role or documented example | Best use | Strength to look for | Who should pick it? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S for resource flexibility | Multi-source carnivore | Solo roaming and recovery after fights | Access to more than one permitted food category—such as carcasses, fish, meat chunks, bones, or critters—reduces the chance that one empty route ends your growth cycle. | Pick this if you play alone, travel widely, and want a backup plan when kills are unavailable. |
| A for coordinated carrying | Tyrannosaurus after the March 27, 2025 TLC | Group transport and pressure | The documented TLC added knockback immunity while carrying another dinosaur. That improves the reliability of a carry in situations where knockback would otherwise interrupt it. | Pick this if your group values moving an ally, securing a downed target, or creating coordinated pressure. Do not treat the TLC alone as proof of universal PvP dominance. |
| A for route planning | Sarcosuchus | Water-centered hunting and resource routes | Its documented comparison with Megalania shows that diet labels do not guarantee identical food access. Route knowledge is therefore a central part of its practical strength. | Pick this if you enjoy planning around waterways and are willing to learn where its legal food is actually available. |
| A for route planning | Megalania | Land-focused carnivore travel | It is specifically cited alongside Sarcosuchus as an example of species with different food access despite sharing a diet. That makes map knowledge and resource timing essential. | Pick this if you prefer terrestrial routes and enjoy adapting your path to the food that your diet permits. |
| Specialist | Ambush or hit-and-run carnivore | Choosing engagements | These roles depend on approach angles, stamina conservation, turning, and a reliable disengagement route. Their ceiling can be high, but mistakes are costly. | Pick this if you already understand sight lines, stamina windows, and when to abandon a chase. |
Why a carnivore can be strong without winning every fight
A predator’s real loop is find, approach, commit, secure food, and escape with enough stamina to recover. A creature that wins a duel but cannot reach legal food afterward may be a poor solo choice. Conversely, a less explosive hunter can be excellent if it can use fish, carcasses, critters, or other permitted resources while avoiding unnecessary damage.
When comparing two carnivores with the same nominal diet, map their actual food access separately. The Sarcosuchus–Megalania example in the Wiki is a warning against assuming that a shared diet creates identical routes. Record the resource, habitat, travel time, exposure to ambushes, and whether the route works during juvenile growth—not just the name of the diet.

Solo, group, PvP, and beginner rankings are different lists
Best for solo play
Solo tiering should weight escape tools, stamina, healing, and safe food and water access above theoretical group damage. A solo player cannot rely on an ally to peel a predator, share a kill, or maintain a buff. Start with a food-flexible carnivore or a berry-access herbivore role, then add combat specialization after you know the map.
Best Value
- A 3-in-1 product that acts as a pump, reservoir, and manifold
- It can act as a regular pump-reservoir combo, be used like a manifold, or, practically, as a distribution plate
- This combo unit can be mounted to the case in many different ways
- Includes a D5 pump
- Reservoir coolant volume: 120ml
Best for coordinated groups
Group tiering rewards buffs, debuffs, coordinated damage, carrying, and protection. A creature that is merely average alone can become excellent when several players communicate target selection and positioning. Tyrannosaurus’ documented knockback immunity while carrying another dinosaur is an example of a specific group-use improvement; its value depends on whether your group actually uses carrying rather than treating it as a solo duel statistic.
Strongest in PvP
There is no evidence here for a universal strongest PvP dinosaur. Matchups depend on hit-zone access, turning, stamina, defenses, terrain, water, and the opponent’s experience. Ask a narrower question: strongest at what range, in which habitat, against which body plan, and with how many allies? A runner can beat a heavier opponent by refusing contact; an aquatic specialist can turn shoreline geography into an escape; a brawler can be effective only if it keeps its best defensive angle.
Easiest for beginners
Choose forgiveness over spectacle. A beginner-friendly creature usually has accessible food, a clear retreat route, manageable stamina demands, and enough flexibility that one navigation mistake does not end the growth attempt. Learn movement, camera control, sprint timing, water awareness, and when to disengage before choosing a demanding ambush or specialist role.

- Confirm availability. Open the current Alderon roster and remove every creature marked as planned. Planned creatures are not valid live-server picks.
- Write down the server context. Record the date, platform or community server, special rules, and current creature changes. Balance updates can alter abilities without changing the creature’s name.
- Separate factions. Build one sheet for herbivores and one for carnivores. Add aquatic and flying tags separately because habitat changes the value of a faction pick.
- Map legal food. For each species, list permitted resources, juvenile food, reliable water, travel distance, and exposure on the route. Do not copy a diet label across species and assume access is identical.
- Score solo survival. Rate escape tools, stamina, healing, defenses, and the ability to reach food and water safely.
- Score group utility. Record buffs, debuffs, coordinated attacks, carrying, protection, and how easily allies can stay in range.
- Score combat and mobility separately. Note damage, defenses, hit-zone access, turning, land or water travel, flight where applicable, and escape options.
- Score learning cost. Mark the number of matchups, positioning rules, timing windows, and resource routes a new player must learn.
- Add enjoyment and flexibility. A main character is a long-term choice; a theoretically strong but frustrating kit may be a worse recommendation for a particular reader.
- Publish the label with its qualifications. Put the update date, server ruleset, and role beside every tier. Replace a placement when a TLC, new creature, or server rule changes the underlying evidence.
Common tier-list mistakes and how to avoid them
- Calling an unofficial list official: Community videos can explain their criteria, but they do not define Alderon’s balance policy.
- Using an old roster count as current: The 21-carnivore and 15-herbivore figures are historical 2024 information, not a promise about the October 2026 roster.
- Ignoring juvenile needs: A late-growth food option does not solve the berry-dependent juvenile stage for most herbivores.
- Ranking damage without resources: A predator still needs legal food and a safe recovery route after combat.
- Confusing a patch note with a complete ranking: Tyrannosaurus’ knockback immunity while carrying is one documented change, not a full comparison of speed, damage, defenses, or matchups.
- Applying group tiers to solo players: Buffs and carrying lose value when nobody is available to coordinate with you.
- Using one list for every habitat: Water access, shorelines, cliffs, and open land can reverse the practical value of mobility and escape tools.
- Leaving planned creatures in the playable table: Mark them as planned or omit them until they are selectable on the server being discussed.
How updates affect the rankings
Path of Titans is actively developed. Alderon’s roster distinguishes planned creatures, and the official blog documented a Tyrannosaurus TLC released on March 27, 2025. Those facts make a dated tier label essential: a placement can age when a creature receives a TLC, a food rule changes, a new dinosaur alters a matchup, or a server adopts custom rules.
For a durable guide, show the update date and ruleset at the top, identify whether a statement is a documented ability or an editorial judgment, and recheck every food route and planned-creature marker after major updates. Do not present a community opinion or a historical roster count as a permanent game fact.
Bottom line
Pick the dinosaur that matches your constraints, not a universal letter grade. Solo players should start with dependable food, water, stamina, healing, and escape options. Groups can elevate support, carrying, buffs, debuffs, and coordinated damage. Herbivore rankings begin with berry access and safe routes; carnivore rankings begin with the actual resources each species can reach, not merely a shared diet label. Use Tyrannosaurus’ carrying change, and the Sarcosuchus–Megalania food-access contrast, as concrete examples of why role, habitat, and patch date matter more than a timeless S-tier claim.
