Past Wordle Answers: Search the Archive by Word or Date

To find a past Wordle answer, search an alphabetical archive by word or scan a dated list by puzzle date or number. The latest dated entries checked here are Wordle #1936, PROVE, on October 7, 2026; #1935, DIMLY, on October 6; and #1934, MOCHA, on October 5. Because a new puzzle adds another row, use the source’s update date rather than treating an older total as current.

Find an answer by word, date, or puzzle number

Different archives make different kinds of lookup easier. TechRadar organizes answers alphabetically and groups them by month, while WordFinder provides a dated answer list. WordleArchive.com says its archive supports navigation by date and puzzle number and lets players replay past puzzles. PastWordle.com presents a searchable, sortable table with Number, Answer, and Date columns.

Latest dated answers available

WordFinder’s page dated October 7, 2026 lists these latest entries:

Puzzle Date Answer
#1936 October 7, 2026 PROVE
#1935 October 6, 2026 DIMLY
#1934 October 5, 2026 MOCHA

These entries establish the latest endpoint in the dated source, not that every earlier row in any archive has been independently verified. WordFinder lists the current recent answers, while TechRadar’s September 29, 2026 update reports 1,928 answers—an older count that should not be presented as the current total.

Where the archive begins—and what “complete” means

WordleArchive.com and WordleGroup describe the sequence as beginning with puzzle #0, CIGAR, on June 19, 2021. WordleGroup also says The New York Times acquired Wordle in January 2022. These are archive publishers’ descriptions of the history; they do not establish that every third-party list matches the game’s complete official answer sequence, including any corrections.

The available dated entries make it possible to identify a recent endpoint, but they do not independently verify every historical row through that date. Avoid combining lists from different publishers and calling the result official or complete unless the entries have been checked against a reliable current source. If two archives disagree, note the source and date for each rather than silently choosing one.

How to judge whether a past-answer list is current

  • Check the update date. A daily puzzle changes the newest answer and makes old totals stale quickly.
  • Check the newest dated row. A date and puzzle number make the endpoint easier to compare than an undated total.
  • Choose the lookup format you need. Alphabetical lists help locate a known word; dated and numbered tables help identify a solution for a particular puzzle.
  • Separate archives from the official game. Third-party sites may offer search or replay, but their historical completeness is not established simply by those features.

For a date-specific lookup, WordFinder’s October 7, 2026 page is the most recent dated endpoint among the sources cited here. Its latest listed solution is PROVE for puzzle #1936.
