ParseHub is a visual, no-code scraper backed by cloud collection. It is a good fit when you want to click elements in a desktop project and then run that project remotely. The best alternative depends on what you are actually optimizing: a ready-made developer workflow, no-code monitoring, lower operating effort, or a different kind of output such as screenshots rather than structured data.
This comparison separates those approaches instead of treating every “web scraper” as interchangeable. ParseHub’s capabilities and prices below are vendor-published and current as displayed on September 29, 2026; verify them before purchasing.
What ParseHub does
ParseHub combines a visual desktop project builder with cloud execution and data delivery. You select page elements, define relationships and interactions, and let ParseHub’s servers collect the results. The product lists CSV and JSON downloads plus access through Excel, Google Sheets and Tableau.
Its documented workflow supports JavaScript and AJAX pages, forms, dropdowns, tabs, pop-ups, pagination and infinite scrolling. It also lists CSS, XPath and regular-expression selectors; extraction of text, HTML, attributes, files and images; logins; scheduled runs; automatic IP rotation; REST API access; and webhooks.

#1 Best Overall
Those are published capabilities, not a promise that every target site will work. A site can still defeat a project through authentication changes, consent flows, rate limits, bot checks, altered markup or content that is rendered only after a particular interaction.
ParseHub plans and limits
ParseHub states that its prices are in US dollars. The following figures are the plans displayed on September 29, 2026.
| Plan | Price shown | Pages per run | Projects | Notable listed features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 200 | Five public projects | Limited support; 14-day data retention |
| Standard | $189/month | 10,000 | 20 private projects | Standard support, 14-day retention, Dropbox or S3 saving, IP rotation and scheduling |
| Professional | $599/month | Unlimited | 120 private projects | Priority support, 30-day retention, Dropbox or S3 saving, IP rotation and scheduling |
| Enterprise | Custom | Not stated | Not stated | Custom service and features, with ParseHub experts offering extraction and delivery |
ParseHub’s pricing page also displays a speed comparison for collecting 200 pages: 40 minutes on Free, 10 minutes on Standard and under two minutes on Professional. These are vendor plan claims, not an independent benchmark, and they should not be used as a guaranteed completion time.
API operating limits
ParseHub’s API reference describes HTTPS REST requests for managing projects and runs and retrieving extracted data. Requests require an API key. It documents a five-request-per-second limit, with additional requests queued up to 25 per second before a 429 response. That is an API-request limit, not a scraping-throughput guarantee. You can either poll for completion or use a webhook.

Apify: a developer platform and Actor catalog
Apify offers ready-to-run tools called Actors, a marketplace, custom Actor development, cloud deployment, APIs, scheduling and integrations. Choose it when you want to start with an existing workflow, then modify or replace it with code as requirements mature.
- Best fit: engineering teams, repeatable pipelines and projects that may need custom logic.
- Strength: a catalog can reduce initial development, while custom Actors provide an escape hatch when a catalog tool is insufficient.
- Trade-off: you must evaluate the specific Actor or build one; the platform description alone does not establish equal accuracy, speed or anti-bot behavior across sites.
Apify’s published materials do not provide a complete, directly comparable price and feature table against ParseHub, so calculate the cost of the particular Actor, runtime and data volume you need.
Browse AI: no-code extraction and monitoring
Browse AI positions itself as a no-code extraction and monitoring service. Its product description highlights AI-assisted column setup, review and customization, recurring monitoring, integrations, and API/webhook workflows.
- Best fit: operations, research or business teams that need to watch pages for changes rather than build a general-purpose scraper.
- Strength: monitoring is presented as a first-class workflow, with delivery into other systems through integrations, APIs or webhooks.
- Trade-off: verify the target site and current plan details directly. The published capability description is not an independent test of reliability or price equivalence with ParseHub.
Octoparse and other names in comparison lists
Octoparse appears frequently in alternative roundups, but vendor-authored comparisons are discovery material rather than independent evidence of competitor performance. Treat it, or any other candidate, as a lead for your own evaluation: confirm the exact interaction support, run limits, scheduling, export destinations, retention and current price on the vendor’s site.
Compare tools by the work you must operate
1. Setup and maintenance
ParseHub’s visual builder is attractive when a non-developer can define a project by selecting page elements. Apify is oriented toward ready-made or developer-authored Actors. Browse AI emphasizes guided, no-code setup and monitoring. Ask who will repair selectors when the site changes and how quickly that person can deploy a fix.
Rank #3
2. Page behavior
Make a checklist from the target site before choosing a product:
- Is the data present in initial HTML, or rendered by JavaScript/AJAX?
- Must the workflow submit a form, choose a dropdown, open tabs or dismiss a pop-up?
- Does it paginate, use infinite scroll or require a “load more” action?
- Is login required, and can the tool safely handle credentials, cookies or multi-factor authentication?
- Will the site present consent banners, bot checks or a different layout to automated clients?
ParseHub lists support for these interaction types, but capability lists do not guarantee success on your particular domain. Test a representative page and an error case, not only the easiest URL.
3. Automation and delivery
For a one-time export, a manual run and CSV or JSON download may be enough. Recurring collection requires scheduling, change detection or monitoring, failure notification and a destination system. ParseHub lists scheduling, API and webhooks on its paid tiers; Browse AI emphasizes recurring monitoring and integrations; Apify describes cloud scheduling and integrations. Map the complete path from trigger to validated data store before comparing subscription prices.
4. Scale and cost
Estimate pages per run, runs per month, concurrency, retention and storage. ParseHub’s Free tier is capped at 200 pages per run and five public projects; Standard raises the displayed run limit to 10,000; Professional lists unlimited pages per run. A lower subscription can still cost more in engineering time if a workflow needs frequent repairs. Conversely, a high page allowance is wasted if your workload is a small monitored set.
5. Access, privacy and permission
A product feature does not grant permission to collect a site. Confirm that you are authorized to access the data, follow applicable terms and privacy obligations, minimize personal data, protect credentials and respect technical controls. IP rotation or scheduling may be operational features, but they do not change your legal or contractual responsibilities.
A practical selection process
- Write the output contract. List fields, data types, acceptable missing values, file format or destination, and how often a run must complete.
- Record the interaction path. Include login, consent, clicks, scrolling, pagination, filters and any page state needed before extraction.
- Choose the operating model. Pick ParseHub for a visual project-and-cloud workflow, Apify for a developer platform or ready-made Actor, or Browse AI when no-code monitoring is central.
- Run a representative pilot. Include dynamic pages, an empty result, a changed layout and a temporarily unavailable page. Measure your own completion rate and repair effort; do not substitute vendor speed claims for testing.
- Verify delivery and recovery. Confirm webhook or polling behavior, retries, duplicate handling, retention, export permissions and alerting.
- Recheck commercial terms. Prices, quotas and packaging change. Compare the current vendor pages on the day you commit.
Common failure modes and fixes
Selectors return empty fields
Cause: the selector points to a pre-rendered shell, changed markup or the wrong repeated element. Fix: inspect the post-interaction DOM, wait for a distinctive selector, narrow the selector to a stable attribute and test several records.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Only the first page is collected
Cause: the project does not model the site’s next-page or “load more” action. Fix: define the pagination control or scroll loop explicitly, set a termination condition and test the final page so the loop cannot run forever.
A login flow fails
Cause: expiring sessions, hidden fields, multi-factor authentication or a login page that differs for automated clients. Fix: confirm that automated access is authorized, refresh credentials securely, capture the complete login sequence and determine whether the tool supports the required authentication state.
Runs receive a bot check or timeout
Cause: the target applies traffic controls, the page is slow, or a required resource is blocked. Fix: reduce request pressure, verify resource and user-agent settings, add an appropriate wait condition, and contact the site owner when access is legitimate. Do not assume IP rotation guarantees access.
API calls return HTTP 429
Cause: ParseHub’s documented API request limit has been exceeded. Fix: implement exponential backoff, prefer webhooks over tight polling, and keep sustained traffic below five requests per second. The queue described by ParseHub is not permission to generate unlimited traffic.
Best Value
Data arrives twice or not at all
Cause: retries without idempotency, an expired webhook, or a run that was read before completion. Fix: assign a run identifier, store delivery status, deduplicate on a stable record key, validate payload counts and reconcile failed runs through polling.
When you need screenshots instead of scraped fields
If the deliverable is a visual record of a page—not a table of extracted values—use a screenshot service rather than building a scraping workflow. ScreenshotNeo is the first alternative to try for website screenshots because it removes consent banners, newsletter popups and chat widgets before capture, bills only clean shots, and has the lowest paid plan listed here.
ScreenshotNeo supports full-page and element captures, device presets and custom viewports, retina scale, dark mode, custom CSS and JavaScript, waits, request blocking, cookies and headers, geolocation, PDFs, resizing, caching, signed links, asynchronous jobs, bulk capture and an MCP server for AI agents. These options address presentation capture; they do not turn the service into a structured-data scraper.
A basic request is:
curl -G "https://api.screenshotneo.com/v1/shot" -d access_key=YOUR_API_KEY --data-urlencode url=https://stripe.com -o shot.webp
See the ScreenshotNeo documentation for parameters and response headers. Bot checks, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads and cache hits are not billed, and each response identifies the page verdict and billing status. The Free plan includes 1,000 screenshots per month with no card; paid plans start at $5 for 3,000. An MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients.

Bottom line: match the approach to the workload
Choose ParseHub when a visual desktop builder, cloud runs and familiar exports fit your team. Choose Apify when you want a developer platform, an Actor catalog or custom cloud workflows. Choose Browse AI when no-code monitoring and integrations are the main requirement. Validate every choice against your real pages, permissions, failure cases and delivery system; vendor feature lists are starting points, not performance guarantees.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can ParseHub projects be run without keeping the desktop app open?
ParseHub’s model separates project definition in its desktop application from collection on ParseHub’s servers, so scheduled or remotely managed runs are part of the cloud workflow. Confirm the current plan and project settings for your account.
Is an API request limit the same as a page-per-minute limit?
No. ParseHub’s documented five requests per second, with queuing up to 25 before a 429, applies to API calls that manage runs or retrieve data. It does not specify how quickly target pages are scraped.
