Which Panasonic TV is best?
The answer depends on your market and what you value. Panasonic names the Z95B its flagship OLED in the U.S. 2026 lineup, while What Hi-Fi? independently recommends it as its premium Panasonic pick. For smaller-screen OLED, What Hi-Fi? points to the 48-inch Z90B. Its value pick is the W90A, an older model praised for balanced picture performance—not evidence of a current 2026 U.S. price or sale.

Those listed sizes differ from Panasonic’s U.S. announcement, which names 55- and 65-inch versions; confirm the size offered in your market.

What Hi-Fi? also flags setup that needs care, Fire OS lag, limited bass depth, and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one of which is the eARC port. If you connect several high-bandwidth devices and an eARC sound system, check the port map before buying. Panasonic says selected OLED and Mini-LED models offer Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos; verify support on the specific television.
Panasonic Z90B: smaller OLED pick
For a compact OLED, What Hi-Fi? recommends the 48-inch Z90B, citing weighty, cinematic picture quality and better low-light color volume than rivals in its checks. It cautions that the built-in sound is basic, with little directionality or low-end heft. The TV has two HDMI 2.1 ports, including one shared with eARC, so account for that if you use multiple consoles or an eARC soundbar.

What is the best value Panasonic TV?
Panasonic W90A: value pick from independent testing
What Hi-Fi? calls the W90A its value pick and the least expensive Panasonic TV it had reviewed and recommended. That assessment is about its reviewed model, not a 2026 U.S. sale or price. The W90A uses a standard full-array local-dimming LED backlight rather than Mini-LED.
Recommended Free Tools
What Hi-Fi? praises its accurate, natural colors, three-dimensional image, and motion handling. Its review also notes less brightness and greyer blacks than competing Mini-LED sets, missed detail in some dark scenes, and middling audio. The reviewed 55-inch model lists 4K/144Hz, 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM, and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one shared with eARC. Confirm the features and ports on the exact size and regional version you are considering.

How to choose a Panasonic TV for your room and use
Match the screen to the room
Panasonic advises considering room size, viewing distance, and viewing habits. Its support guidance recommends weighing those factors alongside picture quality and features; see Panasonic’s guidance on choosing a TV. Match the size to the viewing distance and check the particular series’ size options: the 2026 U.S. range, for example, spans 32 to 85 inches depending on model.
Choose display type for light and viewing priorities
- OLED: A strong choice to consider for contrast and cinematic viewing. The Z95B and Z90B recommendations above are based on What Hi-Fi?’s testing and pick criteria.
- Mini-LED: Panasonic positions it for brighter-room performance. Some European models also have Glare Free treatments, but those are not a range-wide feature.
- QLED and LED: These cover much of Panasonic’s announced range, including compact sizes. Compare the exact model’s brightness, dimming, and other specifications rather than assuming features from the series label.
Check gaming connections, not just refresh-rate claims
Some European models are listed with gaming support up to 144Hz, HDMI 2.1, VRR, and low-latency modes. Features vary by model. For any TV, count the ports you can use at once: on the Z95B and Z90B reviewed by What Hi-Fi?, one of two HDMI 2.1 ports is used for eARC. If you have multiple consoles or a PC, compare the exact port map with your devices.
Consider built-in audio and smart-TV software
The Z95B has a tuned Technics/Dolby Atmos sound system, but What Hi-Fi? says a dedicated audio system can improve bass and immersion. Its reviewers describe the Z90B’s sound as basic and the W90A’s as middling. If dialogue clarity, bass, or room-filling sound matters, listen in person if possible or budget for a separate audio solution.
Smart platforms also differ by model and market. What Hi-Fi? lists Fire OS on its reviewed Z95B; Panasonic lists Fire TV, Google TV, Roku, and TiVo across its European range. Check the platform on the exact regional model and make sure it supports the apps and controls you use.
What to verify before buying
- Confirm the country-specific model number and available screen sizes.
- Check a local retailer for current stock and a dated price; Panasonic’s U.S. announcement did not provide final prices or model-level availability.
- Verify the specific TV’s HDR formats, refresh rate, gaming features, HDMI 2.1 inputs, and eARC assignment.
- Confirm the smart-TV platform and the apps you need in your region.
- Assess built-in sound against your expectations, particularly for the Z90B and W90A.
Panasonic’s general advice on room size, viewing distance, and usage is available in its TV selection guidance. Independent model recommendations here come from What Hi-Fi?’s guide, updated January 12, 2026; they should not be read as fresh testing of every series announced for 2026.
