The Panasonic NN-CF874B is a 32 L flatbed combination microwave that brings together microwave, grill and convection cooking. Its large, turntable-free floor and optional trim-kit installation may suit some kitchens, but it is an older model: verify the exact regional variant, cabinet clearances, condition and parts or support situation before buying.
What the Panasonic NN-CF874B does
Panasonic describes the NN-CF874B as a household microwave, grill and convection oven. Its stated cooking outputs are 1000 W for microwave, 1300 W for grill and 1350 W for convection. Combination modes pair microwave energy with grill or convection heat, which can speed cooking while adding browning or oven-style heat. The operating instructions explain that humming and clicking can occur as the oven switches between microwave and grill power during combination cooking; Panasonic identifies those sounds as normal.

These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance-test results. Panasonic’s Australia brochure covers the NN-CF874BQPQ variant and lists inverter microwave operation, sensor cooking and reheat, turbo defrost, 26 automatic programmes and three combination settings. Do not assume every regional suffix has the same functions: check the rating plate and the manual for the specific appliance.
Will it fit your kitchen?
Panasonic lists the oven’s exterior dimensions as 494 mm wide × 390 mm high × 438 mm deep, with a 410 × 250 × 320 mm (W × H × D) cavity and 32 L capacity. Its approximate uncrated weight is 20 kg. The cavity figure and exterior footprint answer different questions: measure the dishes you use, and measure the available counter or cabinet space separately. Allow ventilation and installation clearances specified in the applicable instructions; the external dimensions alone are not an installation plan.

For built-in use, Panasonic’s operating instructions identify optional trim kit NN-TK813CSCP and a required cabinet opening of 562 mm W × 479 mm H × 550 mm D. The brochure for the NN-CF874BQPQ instead names NN-TK813CS. That suffix difference makes it important to match the oven’s region and exact model documentation before purchasing a kit or altering cabinetry. Do not assume a similarly named kit is interchangeable.
Power and electrical checks
The manual’s electrical table gives power consumption (input) as 990 W microwave, 1330 W grill, 1380 W convection and 1860 W combination. Those input figures are not the same as the cooking-output ratings above. It lists a supply of 230–240 V, 50 Hz, but also says voltage requirements can depend on production month, country and serial number. Check the identification plate on the particular oven and confirm it suits the electrical supply where it will be installed.

What the flatbed changes in everyday use
Because the interior has no turntable, the floor can accommodate larger rectangular dishes that may not sit comfortably on a rotating plate. In a 2016 review of the Australian NN-CF874BQPQ, Appliances Online Australia also reported two-level cooking using the supplied trays and described sensor cooking and reheat, touch controls, a drop-down door, fan-assisted convection and a slider for time, weight or power. Those are review-era observations about that variant, not current hands-on findings about every NN-CF874B.

The same retailer review noted that some food may need manual rotation partway through heating for more even results. That is a useful trade-off to consider: a flat floor increases flexibility for dish shape, but does not guarantee uniform heating in every arrangement.

Cleaning and operating considerations
Panasonic warns that grease on the roof or walls can smoke during grill, convection or combination cooking, and advises wiping the oven regularly. If you expect to use the grill and convection functions often, consider whether you can comfortably reach and clean the interior surfaces. Combination operation can also produce the normal humming and clicking described in the manual.
Is it still a sensible buy?
Panasonic UK’s current microwave buying guides feature newer combination models, including the NN-CF87L, a manufacturer-listed 31 L model with microwave, grill and convection functions. The guides do not list the NN-CF874B among their recommended models. This supports treating the NN-CF874B as an older model, but does not establish a formal discontinuation date or whether remaining or used units are available. The NN-CF87L is a present-day comparison point, not a stated direct replacement.
