Nails unlock at Technology level 10 and are made at a Primitive Workbench or any better workbench: one Ingot produces two Nails. Circuit Boards unlock at level 35, require two technology points and a Production Assembly Line, and consume four Pure Quartz plus two Polymer per board.
Godlike.Host offers hosted Palworld servers with its own game panel, SFTP access and free DDoS protection, if you would rather not host it yourself.
The reliable way to keep both items available is to treat them as separate production chains. Run ore and smelting continuously for Nails, while Circuit Boards require a second pipeline for Pure Quartz, High Quality Pal Oil and Polymer, plus a powered Production Assembly Line. Enemy drops can supplement boards, but crafting is the predictable repeatable method.

| Item | Technology unlock | Technology points | Facility | Materials | Output |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nail | Level 10 | 1 | Primitive Workbench or better | 1 Ingot | 2 Nails |
| Circuit Board | Level 35 | 2 | Production Assembly Line | 4 Pure Quartz and 2 Polymer | 1 Circuit Board |
The Nail record identifies Nails as construction and equipment materials and states that merchants do not sell them. Circuit Boards are an advanced electrical-production component, so their recipe is gated much later and depends on a powered industrial facility rather than a basic workbench.
How to craft Nails
1. Unlock Nail in the Technology menu
Reach Technology level 10, open the Technology menu, and spend one technology point on Nail. The recipe remains unavailable until the unlock is purchased, even if you already have Ingots in storage.

2. Use the right workbench
Build or access a Primitive Workbench, or any workbench tier that accepts the Nail recipe. You do not need an Assembly Line for Nails. If the recipe is missing, check that you are interacting with a workbench rather than a storage container or a facility intended for another production category.
3. Supply Ingots
Place Ingots in the workbench input and queue the desired quantity. The conversion is fixed at one Ingot for two Nails, so a queue of 20 Nails consumes 10 Ingots. The interface shows the exact input and output before you confirm the queue.
4. Keep the smelting chain running
Nails are limited by Ingot throughput rather than by a special Nail-only resource. Mine or otherwise stockpile ore, then smelt it at a suitable furnace. For a powered base, an Electric Furnace can refine metal-related materials when it has electricity and a Pal with Kindling suitability assigned to the work. Maintaining that furnace while you explore prevents a large Nail queue from stalling later construction.
How to craft Circuit Boards
1. Reach the level-35 technology gate
Circuit Board unlocks at Technology level 35 and costs two technology points. This is a progression gate, not a recipe that can be used early by simply finding the ingredients. If your current game version displays a different level or cost, follow the Technology menu in that version because Palworld patches can change recipes and unlocks.
2. Build a Production Assembly Line
Circuit Boards are not made at a Primitive Workbench or a basic furnace. Build and power a Production Assembly Line, then assign the facility to a base with an available electricity supply. A board queue pauses when the line lacks power or when a required input is missing.
3. Stock Pure Quartz
Each Circuit Board consumes four Pure Quartz. Reserve dedicated storage before starting a large run: 10 boards require 40 Pure Quartz, and 25 boards require 100. The recipe consumes the quartz directly, so a line that appears to have plenty of Polymer can still stop after the quartz chest empties.

4. Produce Polymer first
Every board also consumes two Polymer. Polymer is an intermediate material made from High Quality Pal Oil, which makes oil the upstream dependency for this recipe. The amount of oil required per Polymer is determined by the Polymer recipe shown in your current game version; the Circuit Board record establishes the two-Polymer requirement but does not provide an oil-to-Polymer ratio.
For planning, multiply the board count by two to find the Polymer requirement. Ten boards need 20 Polymer; 25 boards need 50. Make that Polymer before filling a long Assembly Line queue so the facility does not sit idle halfway through production.
Building a dependable Circuit Board materials pipeline
Pure Quartz supply
- Set aside a storage container exclusively for Pure Quartz so it is not accidentally consumed by another crafting queue.
- Bring quartz back to the production base in batches large enough to cover the planned board run. The four-per-board cost makes small stockpiles disappear quickly.
- Check the Assembly Line input panel before launching production; it will show whether quartz, Polymer or power is the immediate shortage.
High Quality Pal Oil supply
High Quality Pal Oil sits behind Polymer and therefore behind every Circuit Board. A player farming report recommends using a Ranch with Dumud to produce High Quality Pal Oil. Treat that method as player-reported and version-sensitive, not as a guaranteed official mechanic. Confirm that Dumud produces the expected item in your current build before redesigning your entire base around it.
If the Ranch does not provide oil in your version, use the sources and methods available in your in-game Pal and item records, then keep a reserve of oil in storage. The important production relationship remains the same: no High Quality Pal Oil means no Polymer, and no Polymer means the Circuit Board line stops.
Polymer production
Run Polymer production ahead of the Circuit Board queue rather than asking one base to create both materials at the same moment. This separates the oil-dependent intermediate from final assembly and makes the bottleneck visible. When a board order is delayed, inspect Polymer inventory first, then Pure Quartz, then electricity and worker assignments.
Power and worker coverage
The Production Assembly Line needs power while it works. Keep a functioning electricity source connected, and assign the appropriate worker for the facility shown in your version. A powered smelting line for Ingots and a separate materials pipeline for quartz, oil and Polymer prevent Nail demand from competing directly with Circuit Board production.

Efficient farming plans by progression stage
Early and mid-game Nail plan
- Unlock Nail at Technology level 10 with one technology point.
- Mine or collect enough ore to keep an Ingot furnace supplied.
- Assign a Kindling Pal to the furnace; for an Electric Furnace, also maintain its electricity supply.
- Move Ingots to a Primitive Workbench or better and queue Nails in batches.
- Store the finished Nails near the construction materials you use most often so new building projects do not interrupt production.
Because one Ingot becomes two Nails, a steady furnace is more valuable than repeatedly making tiny manual queues. If a project needs 60 Nails, plan for 30 Ingots and verify that the workbench has enough input before starting.
Level-35 Circuit Board base plan
- Unlock Circuit Board at level 35 for two technology points.
- Build a Production Assembly Line in a powered production area.
- Estimate the target quantity and multiply it by four for Pure Quartz and by two for Polymer.
- Fill Pure Quartz storage and begin producing Polymer from High Quality Pal Oil.
- Verify that the Dumud Ranch method, if you use it, works in your current version; it is anecdotal and may change with patches.
- Load the Assembly Line only after both inputs are available in the quantities required for the planned run.
- Monitor power and worker assignments while the queue runs, then move finished boards to protected storage.
This layout makes the constraints easy to diagnose. If the line stops with quartz remaining, Polymer or oil is the likely limit. If both materials remain available but progress does not advance, inspect the power connection and the facility’s assigned worker.

Can you obtain Circuit Boards without crafting?
Yes. The Circuit Board record lists drops from Pal Genetic Research Unit Executioners, and that drop was added in version 0.2.0.6. This gives you a non-crafting route when those enemies are already part of your exploration or combat route.
The drop is encounter-dependent: you must find the relevant enemies and receive the item from the drop table. Assembly Line crafting is deterministic once you have the ingredients, so it is the better primary plan for a known quantity. Executioner drops are best treated as a supplement that can reduce the number of boards you need to assemble, not as a replacement for a stocked production base.
Farming method comparison
| Method | Progression gate | Inputs or conditions | Predictability | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nail crafting | Technology level 10; 1 point | Primitive Workbench or better; 1 Ingot yields 2 Nails | Deterministic when Ingots are available | Construction and equipment materials from early through late game |
| Circuit Board crafting | Technology level 35; 2 points | Powered Production Assembly Line; 4 Pure Quartz and 2 Polymer per board | Deterministic after quartz and Polymer are stocked | Planned production runs and electrical facilities |
| Executioner drops | Access to Pal Genetic Research Unit Executioner encounters | Combat and the enemy drop table; drop added in version 0.2.0.6 | Encounter-dependent | Supplemental boards while already farming those enemies |
Why a production queue stops
The recipe is locked
Confirm your Technology level and purchased unlock. Nails require level 10 and one point; Circuit Boards require level 35 and two points. Having the materials does not bypass either gate.
The facility is wrong
Nails can be queued at a Primitive Workbench or better. Circuit Boards require a Production Assembly Line. If the recipe does not appear, move to the correct facility instead of trying to add it to a furnace or basic workbench.

Pure Quartz runs out
Multiply your planned board count by four and compare that number with the actual quartz in storage. A 15-board run requires 60 Pure Quartz. Keep quartz in a dedicated chest and reload the Assembly Line when the input slot empties.
Polymer or High Quality Pal Oil runs out
Multiply the board count by two for Polymer, then inspect the oil supply behind that Polymer. A board queue cannot continue merely because quartz remains. Produce Polymer in advance and check the oil source if the intermediate line is unexpectedly empty.
The line has no power
A Production Assembly Line needs electricity while operating. Check the connected power source, the facility’s status panel and any assigned worker requirements. Power interruptions pause progress rather than consuming a board without output.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesThe Dumud method does not work
The Dumud Ranch oil approach is a player report, not an official guarantee. If Dumud fails to produce High Quality Pal Oil in your version, stop treating the Ranch as a dependable input and use another in-game source. Patch changes can alter Pal drops, ranch behavior, recipes and facility requirements.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Supporting electrical production with Electric Organs
Electric Organs are obtained by capturing, killing, butchering or breeding Electric Pals. They help supply electrical facilities that consume them alongside Circuit Boards. If your base is expanding its powered production, plan Electric Organ acquisition separately from quartz and Polymer so an electrical-material shortage does not interrupt an otherwise ready Assembly Line.
Version and recipe checks
Palworld recipes, Technology levels, enemy drops and facility behavior can change between patches. Before committing a large farming route, open the current Technology menu and the item records in your game. Verify four details in particular:
Best Value
- Officially licensed Palworld merch. Join the hunt and capture all the creatures in this open world survival video game. Weaponize your creatures or put them to work in this unique collecting game.
- Perfect graphic apparel for fans of Video Games, Creature Collecting, Open World Games, Cute Animals, Funny Games, and Pocketpair.

- Circuit Board’s displayed unlock level, point cost and Production Assembly Line requirement.
- The current Polymer input and High Quality Pal Oil behavior.
- Whether Pal Genetic Research Unit Executioners still list Circuit Boards in their drops.
Use the values above as the established recipe path, but let your current in-game records take priority if a patch has changed them. This is especially important for the Dumud Ranch method, which is documented as player advice rather than a guaranteed mechanic.

Planning from the fixed recipe costs avoids surprise shortages:
| Target output | Ingots for Nails | Pure Quartz for Circuit Boards | Polymer for Circuit Boards |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 Nails | 5 Ingots | Not applicable | Not applicable |
| 60 Nails | 30 Ingots | Not applicable | Not applicable |
| 10 Circuit Boards | Not applicable | 40 Pure Quartz | 20 Polymer |
| 25 Circuit Boards | Not applicable | 100 Pure Quartz | 50 Polymer |
These figures cover the direct recipe inputs only. Polymer also requires High Quality Pal Oil, but the oil quantity per Polymer is not stated in the Circuit Board record, so calculate that upstream requirement from the Polymer recipe shown in your game.
Recommended long-term setup
Use two production zones. The first is an ore-to-Ingot line with a furnace, Kindling coverage and storage for Nails. The second is a powered Assembly Line area with separate chests for Pure Quartz, High Quality Pal Oil, Polymer and finished Circuit Boards. This separation keeps early construction demand from draining the materials needed for advanced electrical projects.
Craft Nails whenever the Ingot chest reaches a comfortable reserve, because the two-for-one conversion makes them inexpensive once smelting is stable. For Circuit Boards, schedule production in deliberate batches: calculate the board target, prepare four quartz and two Polymer per board, confirm power, then start the Assembly Line. Keep Executioner drops as opportunistic additions rather than basing a critical construction deadline on an uncertain encounter.
