Short answer: The current native PT-PC port runs on 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, Linux x86-64 with glibc 2.38 or newer, and macOS 14 or newer on Apple silicon or Intel. Your graphics processor and driver must support Vulkan 1.3. The project does not publish minimum CPU, memory, storage, or frame-rate figures, so those specifications cannot be stated responsibly. You must also provide your own usable P.T. game files; the port does not include the game. A microphone is optional because keyboard and controller inputs can trigger the voice section.
At a glance: the published requirements
These are the requirements published for the current native PT-PC project, released on October 8, 2026. They describe the port itself, not Unreal Engine editor requirements, an older fan remake, or PlayStation 4 emulation.

What kind of software is PT-PC?
PT-PC is described as a native C++/Vulkan port that reimplements the game logic and reads original content supplied by the player. It is not an Unreal Engine project. That distinction matters because Unreal editor specifications found on other pages do not establish what the finished port needs to run.

Windows requirements and checks
Supported Windows versions
Use a 64-bit installation of Windows 10 or Windows 11. A 32-bit Windows installation is outside the published target, even if the computer has a capable graphics card.
Verify your edition and architecture
- Press
Win+R, typewinver, and confirm that Windows reports version 10 or 11. - Open Settings > System > About and check that System type says a 64-bit operating system and x64-based processor.
- Install the current Vulkan-capable driver supplied for your graphics processor. The operating-system version alone does not prove Vulkan 1.3 support.
Check Vulkan rather than only DirectX
PT-PC uses Vulkan. A system that runs other DirectX games may still fail if its Vulkan runtime or driver is missing, too old, or exposes an older API version. Use a Vulkan information utility such as vulkaninfo to confirm that the installed driver reports API version 1.3 or newer, and verify that the device you intend to use is the active adapter.

Architecture and glibc floor
Linux support targets x86-64 and requires glibc 2.38 or newer. This is a runtime-library requirement, not simply a kernel version. A 64-bit distribution with an older glibc can fail to launch even when its GPU is modern.
Distributions named by the project
The README gives Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 39, current Arch, and SteamOS as examples. These examples indicate the intended environment; they are not a claim that every derivative, old release, or container image has the required glibc and Vulkan stack.
Verify a Linux installation
- Run
uname -m. The result should bex86_64. - Run
ldd --versionand inspect the first line for glibc 2.38 or a newer version. - Run
vulkaninfo --summaryafter installing your distribution’s Vulkan tools and driver packages. Confirm that the reported API is Vulkan 1.3 or newer and that your physical GPU is listed. - Use the Vulkan driver associated with the GPU you will actually run. Hybrid-laptop systems can expose an integrated adapter and a discrete adapter with different capabilities.
The port needs both glibc and a working system Vulkan driver. Installing only a Vulkan loader, without a vendor driver that supports the required API, is not sufficient.
macOS requirements: Apple silicon versus Intel
Operating-system version and CPU family
macOS 14 or newer is required. The project targets both Apple silicon and Intel Macs, but the two cases should not be treated as equally validated.

On macOS, the port supplies MoltenVK, which translates Vulkan rendering to Apple’s Metal graphics API. You therefore do not install a native Vulkan driver in the same way as on Windows or Linux; the Mac application still needs a GPU that can provide the functionality exposed through this translation layer.
Intel-Mac caveat
The maintainer says Intel Macs need a compatible GPU and also states that the Intel application has not yet been run on an Intel Mac. That is an explicit testing caveat, not proof that the build is broadly compatible. If you use an Intel Mac, check the exact release notes and be prepared for a launch or rendering issue that an Apple-silicon user may not encounter.
Verify your Mac
- Choose Apple menu > About This Mac and confirm macOS 14 or newer.
- Note whether the machine reports an Apple chip or an Intel processor.
- Check the listed graphics processor and available system updates. On Intel hardware, compare the GPU’s capabilities with the release documentation rather than assuming that every Metal-capable model meets the port’s Vulkan feature needs.
Graphics: the one quantified hardware requirement
Vulkan 1.3 is the baseline
Your GPU and its installed driver must support Vulkan 1.3. This is the only explicit graphics baseline published by the project. A model name alone is not enough: an old driver, an operating-system update that disabled a feature, or a laptop using the wrong adapter can leave Vulkan unavailable.
Check the API version in a Vulkan diagnostic tool after installing the current driver for your platform. If the tool reports only Vulkan 1.0, 1.1, or 1.2, the computer does not meet the stated baseline.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesOptional ray-query effects
Ray-traced shadows, ambient occlusion, and reflections are optional features. They require Vulkan ray queries, a higher capability than the basic Vulkan 1.3 requirement. The project says these features are unavailable on macOS.
On Windows or Linux, a Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU can still lack ray-query support. Treat these effects as settings you may need to leave disabled, not as a reason to reject a system that otherwise meets the port’s baseline.
Optional upscaling
- DLSS: requires a GeForce RTX GPU.
- FSR and XeSS: work on recent GPUs on Windows.
Upscaling support changes image-quality and performance options; it does not replace the requirement for a Vulkan 1.3-capable device and driver. The project does not publish a model-by-model list of supported cards.

CPU, RAM, storage, and expected performance
No official minimum processor, memory amount, disk-space figure, or frame-rate target is stated. That absence is important: do not copy requirements from the Unreal Engine editor, from a different fan recreation, or from a PlayStation emulator and label them as PT-PC requirements.

Likewise, a newer CPU or more memory may improve general system responsiveness, yet there is no published threshold at which the port is guaranteed to run.
Because there are no documented performance tiers, it is not possible to make a responsible “budget,” “recommended,” or “4K” hardware table from the available specifications. Use the Vulkan capability, supported operating system, and compatibility of your game files as the decision points.
Game files: what you must provide
The port does not include P.T.
PT-PC contains no game assets. You must supply your own usable P.T. files. The developer’s tested basis is the United States release CUSA01127, either as a dump folder or as a fake PKG created from that dump.
Package and regional limitations
A store PKG cannot be used directly because it is encrypted for the owning console. European and Japanese releases are reported to install with a caveat, but the maintainer has not inspected their data. The safest compatibility choice is therefore the US CUSA01127 data used for development and testing.

- Open the PC settings for the port and enable the microphone-trigger assignment.
- When the voice prompt appears, press J on the keyboard, or press both controller triggers together.
- Continue using the normal keyboard or controller controls.
Do not buy a microphone solely to satisfy a system requirement. Add one only if you prefer voice input; the keyboard and controller method is supported for the relevant trigger.
A practical pre-install checklist
- Windows 10/11 64-bit, Linux x86-64 with glibc 2.38 or newer, or macOS 14 or newer.
- A GPU and driver reporting Vulkan 1.3 or newer.
- For Linux, a working system Vulkan driver in addition to glibc.
- For macOS, awareness that MoltenVK translates Vulkan through Metal and that Intel execution is not yet tested by the maintainer.
- Your own usable P.T. files, preferably the US CUSA01127 dump used for development.
- Enough free storage for the application and your game data; no official capacity figure is published.
- A microphone only if you want voice activation; otherwise prepare the J-key or dual-trigger workaround.
Common mismatches and how to resolve them
“My game supports DirectX, so why will PT-PC not start?”
DirectX support does not establish Vulkan 1.3 support. Install or update the Vulkan driver for the active GPU and confirm the API version with a Vulkan diagnostic tool.
“Linux says 64-bit, but the application still fails.”
Check glibc, not only the architecture. The published floor is glibc 2.38. An older distribution may need an upgrade to a supported release rather than a copied library that could destabilize the system.
“The Mac build launches on paper but my Intel Mac is uncertain.”
The maintainer has not run the Intel app on an Intel Mac. Confirm the exact release notes, update macOS, and treat compatibility as unverified rather than guaranteed.
“I have a PKG downloaded from the store.”
A store PKG is encrypted for the owning console and cannot be used directly. The supported workflow requires usable game data supplied by the player, with the US CUSA01127 dump as the tested reference.
“The voice section does not react.”
Enable the microphone-trigger assignment in the port’s PC settings, then use J or both controller triggers when prompted. A physical microphone is not necessary for this workaround.
What you can and cannot conclude from the requirements
You can determine platform eligibility from the operating-system version, architecture, glibc floor on Linux, and Vulkan 1.3 support. You can also identify whether optional effects such as ray queries, DLSS, FSR, or XeSS are available on a particular platform.
You cannot infer a minimum CPU model, RAM capacity, storage size, or guaranteed frame rate because none is published. You also cannot assume that every regional release has been inspected, that every Intel Mac has been tested, or that a Vulkan 1.3 device automatically supports the optional ray-query effects.
As of October 16, 2026, the most defensible buying or installation decision is therefore a compatibility check rather than a conventional “minimum versus recommended” parts list: verify the OS and architecture, verify Vulkan 1.3, confirm your game-file format and region, and decide whether optional graphics features matter to you.
